I went to Subaru in North Bay, ON with hopes they would help me get an SUV, I wasn't sure what one I wanted but knew I wanted the space and the height with AWD. This was my first vehicle purchase from a dealership. The sales rep I had was named Sheen. He was no help whatsoever, showed me only one vehicle and did not even try to work with me on what I wanted, to top it off he didn't offer me to try driving any models either. But he took my information and sent it to the bank, and they informed me I would know by the end of the day. I called them in the afternoon to see what the verdict was and they said it was still pending. They called me two hours later because they had forgotten information on the application that was needed from me, and that they would call me in an hour with the results. They didn't, and I called them right before closing and it was Sheen who told me that the girl who put my application in had left already and she was suppose to tell me that they would call me tomorrow.
They did not call me the next day. I, once again, had to call to see what was happening, to which they informed me that Sheen was off that day. So I waited until the following day, and I again had to call in the afternoon to hear that the vehicle was declined but they were going to work to get me something else. They responded the next day with an 2010 Ford Escape SUV. I went and saw this vehicle that following day after work for a test drive. Once arrived he told me he was going to go and grab it, which took a couple minutes when he drove it to the front. Sheen told my dad and I that the vehicle's battery was dead and he had to boost it to start because it's been sitting for awhile. I asked if that would be replaced and he said yes. It was a nice vehicle for sure, even though it was a few years old. I just needed something for now, and it was the only thing I was approved for. I told Sheen I needed to think it over before agreeing to purchase the vehicle, so I took the weekend. I then called the following Monday to negotiate the price on this vehicle, as I felt it was too highly priced for a few things that weren't included, and some rust spots they had refused to fix. Sheen told me he had to speak with the sales manager first before agreeing to anything. He told me he would call me later in the day, then Tuesday came (this being a week into looking into the vehicle) and they informed me that it was Sheen's day off. I was upset because I felt I was the one chasing them to help me purchase a vehicle and asked to speak to the sales manager Hernan about the vehicle and how frustrated I had become with the sales rep I had been dealing with. He assured me that he would take care of my purchase and that he would help. I believed him, he was very quick in the beginning to help, and it was Wednesday when we made a deal on the price and to begin the paperwork, he emailed me asking if the following Tuesday was ok to pick up and I said perfect. Then it was changed to Wednesday at 3 pm, then again to Thursday at noon, and again to Thursday at 4pm. I felt this whole time my purchase was being procrastinated and shoved off to last minute because it was not a Subaru brand and was a trade in. I felt I was not properly cared for as it took over 2 weeks to get this vehicle, and I was being manipulated for sure. I expressed my frustrations to Hernan and I was brushed off basically stating these things happen, and it takes time to safety vehicles. I have had my vehicle for just over a week, and the battery, that they said would be fixed or replaced, has died on me four times now. I had called Hernan after I had took over the vehicle 9 days prior, and if the battery had been replaced this shouldn't be happening. At first it was argued that it was not done, with Hernan stating that the battery is not checked in safety, then I had told him what the sales rep I had previously dealt with had told me about the battery being dead when I went to test drive it out. Hernan then told me the battery was changed, and to bring it in for them to go over it and figure out the problem. I came into Subaru the very next day, having to get family to boost the vehicle for me to start it. Obviously I was upset only having this vehicle for 10 days now and having it die on me 4 times in 3 days. I expressed my frustrations to Hernan and that I would like It to be fixed that day, and he basically told me that I don't control what happens in the dealership and showed me the doors, telling me to go to service because it was their issue. I felt as a customer this man did not care one bit about me or my concerns with this vehicle I can purchased from the company by him, and had actually made me cry, because of how rude he was. I approached the service desk to a younger man who was very nice, but I needed to step away because I was so upset. I contacted Subaru Canada with my concerns but they said that they could not do anything for me. read more
