My review is of my experience trying to get a trailer hitch for my Suburu. I called the store 2…read moreweeks prior and made an appt, they told me then it would be 3 hours for the hitch install. I was driving in from an hour away and arranged for a driver to drop me off and pick me up for a 3 hour period. When I dropped the car off I was also told it would take 3 hours. When I returned to the store after 3 hours, my car had not been touched. When I asked the manager of the store what the deal was, he said they hadn't gotten to it yet and didn't know when they would. He also said that the "3 hours" timeframe given was from the point the car was pulled from the lot into the garage, which at no point was communicated to me. How do you plan for that anyway? If that's the case he the store should say to leave the car for the day, which I would have planned for. I was told twice it would take 3 hours, so that's what I arranged for. When I asked if I left it until the next day to be done, would it get done, and he couldn't give me a definitive answer. I asked if someone would call me when it was done if I left it-since no one had called me in the 3 hours they had the car to let me know they couldn't get it done-and he got so mad he gave me my key back and said he wouldn't do the job. If this guy is the manager, it's tough times out there. Absolutely horrible customer service, no communication, and no effort to accommodate the customer. Take your business anyplace else, they don't deserve your money. And of course the manager had no problem giving me the regional managers number as well as president of company, who of course never returned my call.

For a gas station, there is quite an ice cream store here. We're in Utica, NY for a couple of evenings and my wife suggested we go to Stewarts for some dessert after a lovely Italian meal at Ancoras. Just a few minutes from the hotel, and we were off. This is quite the market here, with their own "beer cave." Took a look at their very extensive ice cream menu and went with the easy choice. A double scoop of maple walnut. My wife had the brownie-cookie sundae. Each was delicious. This easily could be the best maple walnut ice cream ever. Plenty of maple taste and lots of walnuts. This was one good ice cream cone. My wife really enjoyed her sundae too. They have an extremely friendly-cordial team here which always helps the experience. Prices were very reasonable too. A white lady comes in to get a milkshake and as soon as she comes in she is greeted and asked if she was having a milkshake. As I'm in line waiting the lady says to the worker "you don't have to wait on me first let her go" the worker proceeds to make her milkshake first even though I was in line first and waiting for a minutes already. Anyways all I got to say environment was not friendly and very much giving 1930's.

The way they serve the food and set up the store makes it very welcoming for someone who's been on the road for a while. They had nice refreshments, specialty cookies, little sandwiches, and plenty of options to grab a quick bite or a snack. It wasn't fancy, but it was comfortable, kind, and exactly the right vibe for a road stop. For being "just what I needed" at the right time, I'm giving Stewart's Shops 5 stars.

The inside of the store has a nice selection and friendly staff. We stopped by to get some ice cream, which was good, but not my favorite in the greater area. I had some combination of coffee and smores double scoop. My parents loved their ice creams.
