Terrible. It's dirty, they don't clean the tables or the floor. Shocking for a Starbucks to be so badly run.

It is located in Edgeware, which I frequent a few times a year since I have a friend who lives there. However it was not until I googled: "best salt beef in London" that I knew that there is a hidden gem to be found here. To me, salt beef is the UK variant of pastrami minus the peppercorns on the outside. I love both but I've had bad versions of both. So when I learned that this is the best salt beef in London, I got excited. I came and found a little shop with a few tables to dine in and options to take away. The menu was your typical jewish fare: salt beef, salads, gefilte fish, dumplings and so on. I went for the salt beef on rye with mustard: simple but I took one bite and I was sold. I immediately regretted not knowing about this place earlier - this is sandwich heaven. Perfect beef, great bread and a little bit of mustard: delicious! You know you have yourself a winner when you find yourself craving more, even days after. Yes B&K Salt Beef Bar is far off everything and scores about minus ten on the ambiance scale. There must be much trendier and hipper places in Central London but do they also serve a AWESOME salted beef sandwich? I am not sure so until I know I'll stick with B&K. Highly recommended.

Seriously, the salt beef is to die for and is very reasonably priced. It's only got a small seating area for about 20 people but you can also get take away. The staff are very friendly and it has a great atmosphere. Parking can be a little difficult as there are only a few bays on Whitchurch Lane and it's near to the traffic lights at a major junction in Edgware so you may have to park a distance away but the food it worth it! I would point out that the food is Kosher style - the meat isn't actually kosher but, if that doesn't bother you - you'll enjoy a great meal.

Some of the staff can be a bit short, but on the whole they're friendly enough. They've got tables now to make it a little more cafe style but there are some things (mostly beef related) that they don't allow to be eaten in store. Most of their pastries look good and the ones that I've tried are tasty if a little stodgy. Not being close to a tube station, I don't visit that often but if given the chance, they're one of the better bakeries out there.

Nice thing about this place is that they have a large variety of pastries and bread, as well as several big coolers with prepared sandwiches, egg salad, cream cheese, etc., and they don't run out of bread in the late afternoon like some bakeries. Wish I could pay with a car for transactions under 10 pounds though. I don't get why that's such a problem everywhere. I mean, ffs, just charge me the extra 20p for the transactions costs or whatever, don't make me waste 15 minutes of my time walking to a nearby ATM.

I don't usually leave reviews (this will be my first on Yelp site) but felt compelled to write one…read moreafter the experience I had at Amici yesterday. I live locally and my husband and I have stopped by a few times to grab a quick take away sandwich. I stopped by yesterday to eat-in because I had a few minutes to spare and ordered the 'Goats cheese & Sun dried tomato' sandwich. As I stood at the counter I saw the lady fumbling to look for the cheese but didn't think much of it as I made my way to sit at a table. A few minutes later when I received my sandwich I couldn't see any white colored goats cheese in it. I took a bite and confirmed it was NOT goats cheese as it turned out to be yellow cheese. I went to the counter TWICE and politely asked which cheese they used because I know what Goats cheese tastes like and the fact that Goats cheese is always white. The staff member insisted what they gave me was Goats cheese and eventually showed me the cheese they used, which was YELLOW and labelled 'Giglio Cheese'. She claimed this was Goats cheese from Sardinia. Despite my explanation (and I wasn't complaining, I was pointing out that what they gave me was not what I ordered) all 3 of the staff members teamed up and insisted there are different types of Goats cheese and this is the type of Goats cheese made from Sardinia. I google'd Giglio Cheese when I got home and it is SHEEP'S CHEESE. Considering there are people who may have specific allergies, I would not recommend this cafe to anyone as they seem to think they can replace ingredients without your consent and insist they are what they are NOT.

The products they sell are really good quality and the staff are always really friendly. The only problem I have is that they often go a long time without restocking items. It's unfortunate that they don't have a huge amount of space but it's a great compliment to them that they're always so busy! The staff are always really helpful and eager to get you whatever you want.

While visiting the UK I was utterly spoiled with all the kosher options, including The Kitchen,…read morewhich recently opened with rave reviews and delicious food. In the 10 days I was there, we ordered take away once and ate-in once. I definitely recommend going in to the restaurant because the place offers a truly unique dining experience. With take away, the husband and I both opted for burgers, with him getting onion rings and me picking up the chili fries. I'll admit the fries were of the frozen-and-fried variety with chili sauce poured atop (delicious, still), while the onion rings were clearly hand-battered and, as the husband said, delicious. The burger I got was plain, and by the time it got to us was a bit lukewarm. My husband ordered the Double Fakon Cheat Burger (Two Prime Beef Burgers topped with Smokey Fakon & Soya Cheese) and both inhaled and raved about it. I was a bit jealous, but being gluten free I couldn't really enjoy a burger the way I wanted. We also nabbed a spicy sushi roll, which was killer, fresh, and perfectly kickin'. When we went in, the last night I was in the UK to see my husband, it was date night. We both felt terribly under dressed being there at night, so take note: If you're going there for dinner, put on something nice, probably not jeans. I ordered Mitch's Sandwich sans the baguette: Baguette with Sliced Chargrilled Minute Steak, Sautéed Mixed Peppers and Onions with Mayo served with Homemade Fries and Coleslaw. Unfortunately, they were missing the mayo and they served me a mustard that had wheat in the ingredient. We let them know, so hopefully they won't make anyone sick unnecessarily in the future. The meat was absolute perfection and the peppers/onions were to die for. It reminded me of a sort of deconstructed Philly Cheesesteak, sans the cheese. The coleslaw was okay, but had a weird citrus tang that gave it a strange after taste. The sweet/tangy balance is not there yet, but I suspect that with enough Americans eating there, they'll get it right. My husband ordered The Dallas Cowboy: Baguette with Pulled Home Smoked Beef Rib and Caramalised Onions served with Homemade Fries and Coleslaw. Although we got what they were going for in an homage to pulled-pork sandwiches, unfortunately the meat wasn't "pulled" at all. It was cubed and completely unseasoned. Unfortunately, he was disappointed with it. Overall, the eat-in experience was pretty great, even with the food hiccups. The interior of the restaurant is very alt-rock glamour, with paintings of classic characters in modern situations (a character reminiscent of Shakespeare, ruffles and all, with one leg propped up on a soccer ball, for example). The lighting is dim and romantic at night, and the seating space is very close, so get to know your neighbor. The staff were nice and accommodating, checking on all my gluten-free questions, which is always a good sign. In the end, I'd say this restaurant has a lot going for itself and will go far if it tweaks its recipes and menu just slightly toward perfection.

I genuinely liked the café's cute and cozy atmosphere, which is why I came back. During my visit, I started taking a few photos. A woman approached me and said photography wasn't allowed because of the paintings and other guests. I immediately said that was fine and respected it. She mentioned that I should have asked first, so I went to the counter and asked the staff. They were polite and told me I could take photos. Shortly after, the same woman came back extremely angry. She started raising her voice, saying she had already refused and questioning who gave the staff permission to allow it. That's when she said she was the owner. I apologized and explained that I didn't know she was the owner, as she hadn't introduced herself and was sitting among other guests. Instead of calmly clarifying the situation, she kept shouting. She repeatedly insisted, "You need to leave. You need to leave." I told her I had already paid for my coffee and just wanted to take it with me. She kept saying, "Take your coffee and leave," in a very harsh tone. The way she kept repeating it felt humiliating and disrespectful. What made it worse was the way she spoke to her staff. She raised her voice at them too, saying things like, "Who are they to say that? I am the owner." It was uncomfortable to watch employees being spoken to like that in front of customers. It wasn't about the photography rule. Businesses have every right to set policies. It was about the aggression, the public confrontation, and the complete lack of basic courtesy. The tone and hostility made me feel unwelcome and singled out. The entire situation felt deeply personal and emotionally distressing. No customer should feel attacked over a simple misunderstanding. I left feeling embarrassed, shaken, and honestly hurt. Owning a business does not give someone the right to speak to people without respect. I truly hope that in the future customers and staff are treated with more professionalism and basic human decency.

They didn't have ingredients for anything we ordered in the cafe (and still took the order in the first place) and when casually asked "how come you have run out ingredients in the morning?", they rudely replied " It's none of your business" and insulted us into leaving the cafe. Highly recommend avoiding this place as they have no courtesy of treating customers with respect and instead make you feel like they are doing you a favour! Honestly, this place should be shut down based on all the reviews so far and our own experience. There is another cafe next door called The Dolls House on the Hill which is much better from a price, quality and staff perspective!
