I had mentioned to the girl at the front about ordering some banana pudding afterward because they were out of cheesecake at the time and when I went up to get the banana pudding later after we finished dinner, two guys working at the front, just gave it to us for free. And then the girl initially who knew I was going to get the banana pudding brought over a banana pudding to us, for free, unaware that the guys had already given us one. I told her they had already given us one and she said "oh well have another one". I mean, seriously, how incredibly nice can you be?? We went to Carolyns Sandwich shop, a small place downtown. Carolyn is the owner and everyone's Grandma, or mom. Jim has been helping her at the diner, nice guy. Before more of the locals came in, they included us in the conversation of Recipes. I learned something's I did not know. One of the local gentleman likes pickles and horseradish. He pours the juice off of the pickles( saving the juice), grated fresh horseradish over the pickles, then pours the pickle juice back over the pickles, gently stir, seal tight and allow to sit for a overnight or more for the pickles to take on the Horseradish flavor. We talked and laughed on other subjects as well. There is always something to learn-everyday. I guess I better tell You about the food. I ordered a Cheeseburger with everything, coleslaw and unsweetened tea. My burger was not in any way greasy. It was really good. Everything is homemade , the coleslaw was delicious. It is sweet. The ice tea tasted good, Eric and I ordered Fried Green tomatoes. My husband ordered Ham and cheese sandwich French fries and Dr. Pepper. He said that his food was good. The fried green tomatoes were cooked to perfection. If you are in Harrisville area, stop in before 2 or 3 pm and say he to Carolyn and Jim, try any of their homemade dishes.
