My family and I happened to be in Weston to visit the Trans-Allegheny asylum, and after our historic tour, we had read up about this place and decided to give it a try cause we love barbecue. The shop itself is so cute and has such a great atmosphere. The staff was incredibly wonderful. They helped us figure out how to order, what to order, recommendations, etc.. The food was ALL fantastic. I had mentioned to the girl at the front about ordering some banana pudding afterward because they were out of cheesecake at the time and when I went up to get the banana pudding later after we finished dinner, two guys working at the front, just gave it to us for free. No reason whatsoever. And it was sooo good. And then the girl initially who knew I was going to get the banana pudding brought over a banana pudding to us, for free, unaware that the guys had already given us one. I told her they had already given us one and she said "oh well have another one". I mean, seriously, how incredibly nice can you be?? We also ordered some barbecue to take home and let me tell you, that barbecue is fan-friggin-tastic. I have never had pork belly burnt ends before and they are now my favorite thing. We also bought a bottle of barbecue sauce because it was so delicious. My husband is a barbecue connoisseur and for him to really wanna buy a barbecue sauce means it must be really good. I was a little wary about eating bbq in West Virginia but holy cow was it good! You get big portions and the taste is excellent. The restaurant is clean and has a great atmosphere. The kids working had a pleasant attitude and were very friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable especially for everything you get. I ordered mine to go and everything came out quickly. I love the hip vibe of this place! The music is terrific. They were out of the couple things I wanted, but this place is very popular. My pulled pork was good, I like the addition of the jalapeno and onions on the side. The sides were just ok. I didn't really love either of the two sauces either. Price was maybe a bit high, but portion size was big. It seems like hard to keep the tables clear, and the trash removed, but they do the best they can. I may go back, hopefully they have banana pudding next time. read more

Excellent and quaint restaurant! We were driving from SC to PA and wanted to stop somewhere that wasn't fast food. We are happy we found this gem! The food was amazing and generous portions! I had the chopped chicken sandwich. My husband and son both had the taco platters (pulled pork and burnt ends). We shared sides of Burnt Pork Baked Beans and Mexican Street Corn and cheesecake for dessert. We couldn't finish everything. I asked to try the pineapple salsa that came with the tacos - it truly could be it's own side - so fresh & delicious! The only suggestion we would have is that the burnt ends should be cut smaller to make the tacos a little more manageable to eat. The two young men working the front were wonderful! We went to the Asylum today and decided to stop here as a second choice. The place we wanted to go to wasn't open. THANK GOD for that!! The BBQ here was amazing!! I had the 2 meat platter and the burnt ends are perfectly smoked as is the pulled pork. Their macaroni and cheese is thick and hearty. The portion sizes and quite frankly the prices are just right. My son had a smash burger that was so big he couldn't even finish it. If you're in town and hungry this place is an absolute great place to get a great meal. Being born and raised in Texas myself, I was surprised to see a "South Texas Barbecue" place in the middle of WV. As I walked in the ambiance of the place was well done. Little small but quaint. When I started in on my meal I realized I had to use a serrated knife to cut up the brisket. Which in my book is a no -no for brisket but the flavor was just OK. The sauce for the brisket was unique as were the cowboy beans. Vanilla pudding was surprisingly tasty. I went at lunch time so service was a little behind which is understandable. I wanted to give it another try because I don't like making judgments on one visit but I never made it back. read more

My only issue was young female employee was messing with her hair all over the place in the kitchen, and when it was brought to the staffs attention, "well she didn't make your food, so that's ok". Brisket was delicious, unfortunately it took 40+ minutes to reach our table.. Options were limited when we arrived, then after we ordered, we were told that our sides were not available. Cowboy beans were good, but we wanted baked beans and fries were like little nubs from the bottom of the bag. Many tables with plates and rubbish left over, which caused limited seating. They have two options for barbecue sauce, one being traditional barbecue and the other sweet and spicy, and they are both terrible. We came on a Saturday to visit the asylum and we were pretty disappointed with the service. read more

I am glad to see a cool BBQ place move in where a great diner used to be. Pros: tasty brisket, with that perfect amount of fat, homemade sauces, and pretty good Mac and cheese. Friendly staff. Cons: only open Friday's thru Sundays. You have to buy bottles of soda or water, which are a bit expensive. The portions are a wee bit on the small side for the price but seems worth it. Have never had bad food in this place.Ive been here over 20 times. By far one of my favorite restaurants.

It's about the smoked meat here. That is the four stars. No fancy rubs , had to wipe down our table ouselves, lots carry-out business. No nonsense, well-smoked pork ribs done right, very tender. Good sliced pickles and pickled onions on the side. The corn was fresh and tasty, the beans had good flavor (but were cooked to mush), cole slaw tasty but watery, and potato salad was good. They were out of them tonight, but I would definitely like to try their beef ribs. read more

Good food but overpriced. Paid $26 for a two meat "platter" with a fountain drink (2 sides included). Their Pork and Brisket were tasty but they serve small portions and the food was room temperature at best. As another reviewer mentioned, their mac & cheese was cold. No alcohol options, if you're looking to have a beer with dinner. Overall, I would NOT recommend this establishment to a friend. I will likely need to grab another meal as their servings are too small. My recommendation is to knock the price down by $10 or double your meat servings. read more

Been anxious to try out this restaurant and had opportunity at lunchtime today. Arrived around 12:30. Only 4 customers and 3 staff in the place which had a nice vibe and great barbecue aroma. There is a large blackboard menu on a side wall. The items were written in a confused manner but we finally found ribs written at the bottom priced $17. That's what two members of our party were interested in so we were moving in the right direction. I ordered a pork belly burnt ends sandwich priced $11. Sides were added including fries, 2 slaw and a street corn. Finally we included 3 fountain soft drinks. With tip the total was $72. Pricy for a place where you order at the cash register and get your own drinks. Ribs were gobble up good. Sandwich was tasty with a nice portion of pork belly but I couldn't find any burnt ends on it. Slaw was nice and I enjoyed the street corn but it wasn't awesome. The trays included a slice of onion, jalapeño peppers, pickles, which were a nice touch. Large jars of 2 unlabeled barbecue sauces were on the table. Two staff inquired if we had everything we needed and if we were pleased with the food. Not a great experience but these people can cook barbecue meats and I'd be willing to give it a second try. read more

Amazing pulled pork sandwich. Fixins included pickled onion and jalapenos. "Make it a meal" for 4$ is the most food for the money - adds two generous sides and a bottomless beverage. Made a blend of home-brewed sweet and unsweet tea for the perfect complement to the tangy BBQ sauce that I chose. The pulled pork was so good that I purchased a pound to take home. Worth the short trip off of Interstate 79 and easy to find on the corner plus two hours of free parking. read more
