Once you have been given your mystery sandwich you will then be ushered back over to Mr. Munchbox, some days he will offer you a soup from the suspect 'back room soup boy'....other days he will completely forget this step in the process. You will then finally have a price thrown at you that he will make up on the spot and then explain to you that it is a discounted price. Overall the Munchbox makes a decent sandwhich, but really needs to tighten up and become more of a smoothly run operation. 2 STARS.

I ordered the 18 oz t-bone (medium rare), chips and cesar salad. Plenty of chips, they were longer hot and little soggy by the time they got out. The steak was the real disappointment. The cook was rare bordering on blue with very little seasoning. Additionally there was no sear on the steak and it was real tough. The fibers were present through the meat and it was poorly trimmed resulting in almost a fourth of it being inedible. The cesar dressing was real mayo forward. The atmosphere was great with plenty of folks and you could tell weekends are fun. This may have been an off meal but my food on this trip was not representative of the reviews.

The prices were really appealing, with pasties costing about £1.50 and a bowl of pasta for £2.99. A steak bake pasty and an iced apple cream Danish cost me exactly £3. The Danish pastry sandwiched a thin layer of apple and sauce under a thick poof of whipped cream, storybook style. The apple's taste was drowned out under the cream which was a bit much, and I could only occasionally feel its gooey texture. Greggs is a good option for a cheap cafe lunch, with tasty-looking pastries and a few other limited options for savoury items, which includes customisable sandwiches (Emma: "The lady took forever to make my sandwich, and look, all my onions are falling out.") and fish fingers.
