The menu has just the right variety. We didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitress brought us our drinks and we placed our order in about 15 minutes. Then we didn't see her at our table again for an hour. During this time, 3 other tables were seated and received their meals. Two other tables left their drinks at their tables and walked out. They were smarter than us. Another waitress finally asked us if anyone had taken our order. We explained and our food arrived shortly after, appetizers, meals and all. No explanation. The pretzels and cheese were good. The fried tomato BLT had no bacon. Seriously, no bacon. It's not like I could say anything about it. We weren't going to wait another hour for bacon (although if there was a food that was worthy of it, bacon would be in consideration). The food was fine. Like I said, I was pretty pissed so, I probably would have liked it better under different circumstances. Seemed pretty average. Our waitress would disappear off the floor for about 10 minutes at a time and kept returning to a single table. At times, 5-10 minutes would go by and there would be no employees anywhere is sight. Where was management? Will not be back.

However, as soon Haley--one of the waitresses--noticed I and my child were feeling a little uncomfortable and like maybe this wasn't the place for us, she proceeded to plop down in the booth right next to my son and said, "Alright, hon! What'cha want?" It took my breath away, because it felt like such a breach of professional etiquette. But then I realized she'd just let all the regulars know they were not to mess with us in a way that didn't raise any eyebrows. (If she'd been overly friendly with me, it might've raised a stir, but, by sitting next to a 12 year old who's my child and helping him feel relaxed, no one could give her or any of us grief. It was almost breathtaking in its simplicity and effectiveness. No one gave us any grief after that.) We ordered a lot of delicious food and my child was on cloud nine. Ordered two orders of the amazing onion rings, got their insane cheeseburger's served between two grilled cheese sandwiches, and amazingly cooked tater tots. At the end, my son told our waitress she deserved a raise and she gave him a commemorative pen! That waitress gave an absolute clinic on how to make outsiders safe and welcome! She really does deserve a raise.
