The businesses that I frequented the most were Burger King, Mark's, McDonalds, Wok of Asia, and Factory Direct. Ever since I have been working from home during this pandemic, I rarely visit this area. After working from home last Wednesday, I needed to head into Mississauga to run an errand, Driving home, I realized that I needed a grocery store. I remembered Panchvati Supermarket. It was a few doors down from Factory Direct. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. I got there just before 7 pm. There is always plenty of parking. I parked and walked in. I was greeted with bins of Indian snacks. I swear that I stood there, looking at all the brightly coloured snack packages, for a good five minutes. I eventually got a bag of bhel mix snacks. I came here to get a hand of bananas. I normally hit Giant Tiger, as prices are the cheapest around. I got more expensive bananas here that came up to just over $3. I was okay shelling out a bit more than usual. I love checking out any grocery store for the first time. The produce section was cool. It's not every day that you see an entire aisle full of huge bags of onions! I also spent a lot of time looking at packaged noodles. Veggie Hakka noodles. Hong Kong spicy garlic noodles. Noodles without onions or garlic. Lots of noodles! I was impressed. It was neat seeing bottles of Horlicks from the UK. I learned from a friend that Indian folks often spell the brand as Horlics. I asked her why the k is dropped. She simply said to mess with you... haha! The spices section is extensive. I have never been so mesmerized looking at every spice package. It was easier for me to figure out what spices I do have at home. While I was lining up, I looked at the hot samosas, spring rolls, and puffs. A man was getting a number of samosas. They smelled so good! I had a friendly cashier. He was competent and worked quickly. I paid using a debit card. I tapped and was done. He bagged my items and handed me my receipt. I wished him a good night and he reciprocated. I have been driving past this supermarket for years. It was nice that I finally dropped by to check it out. It's quite the gem in this nondescript plaza. I'll definitely come back to dive further into the snacks and noodles. (8)

They have an excellent Basmati rice section and lots of curries, turmeric, masalas for Indian cooking. They also play very good music inside here. Just now I heard two excellent songs: "Koi VI Nahi" by Shirley Setia and Gurnaza And "Chan Kitthan" by Ayushmann & Rochak Kohli Two of my favorite Indian pop stars.

Yo, why can't we have an Asian Grocery Store this clean and nice in MI? Came here after checking…read moreout the Pacific Mall. My family and I had just eaten at the Pacific Mall, but man, wish we had saved ourselves for this spot. As far as an Asian grocery stores go, this is one of the cleaner, and better organized ones that I have been to, maybe ever. Not only are they clean, but they have a great variety of snacks and drinks, as well as your standard fare for everyday cooking. To me, the star of this place has to be their prepared foods area. Evidently after 8pm, they mark down lots of their prepared food items. From dim sum, to noodles, fried rice and other entrees, you can score plenty of items for $4-6 which were normally 2-3x that. I felt like a kid in a candy store and began snatching and hording all the things. I had to stop and remind myself we were on vacation, and would be living out of hotels for the next few days, so I limited myself to just a handful of items. We got some noodles, fried rice and dumplings, which we would end up eating for breakfast over the next few days. While nothing was mind blowing per se, the food was solid and certainly economical. If I lived in this area, I could see myself coming here on the regular just for the prepared foods. OVERALL - almost wish I hadn't come to this place, so I'd never knew what I was missing. Thank you Canada for showing me what's possible. CELEBRITY RATING - Simu Liu

Please see my previous review for more detail. My daughter…read moreand I returned to Asia Food Mart for a culinary excursion of the Food Mart variety. This place is huge, and sells all kinds of things. Parking is a bit hectic, even at 1:45 on a Thursday afternoon. The parking spots right in front of the Food Mart are very small, and scary for a big SUV like mine. But there is very frequent turnover, and if you just drive around the lot for 30 seconds, someone will be pulling out. The parking spaces in front of the stores facing the Food Mart are larger and a bit easier to navigate. This mall is great fun to go to. They have all manner of foods (fresh noodles! Great fruits! Asian stuffed toys and cosmetics! Fresh meat and seafood! The list goes on and on ...) and an excellent prepared food counter, and a Chatime outlet. We bought some mochi, some enormous strawberries, and a variety of dim sums from the food counter. Our selections included fried dough sticks (they actually reheat well in the air-fryer), fried squid, scallion pancakes, seafood and pork dumplings, some delicious pork and shrimp mini-pancakes. The squid was the way my daughter likes it (chewy), and I enjoyed some as well. Everything else was great, although the dumplings were a bit past their peak, and should have been switched out for new ones. We also enjoyed some delicious bubble tea from Chatime, which always has new, seasonal selections to tempt you. Basically, a trip to the Asia Food Mart is really fun, as they have such a diversity of products. Next time, I'm coming here to shop "for real" (meaning actual groceries, as opposed to lunch or snacks). The butchery and fish counters serve really fresh food at a good price, and there are some great deals on produce. You can't get around the fact that this is a snack haven. You should check it out now!!! It's open 24/7.
