There is a good collection of rare succulents. I never had one before so I am starting off with a baby Echeveria. It caught my eye even though it had yellow leaves which the owner plucked away. She said it was normal for leaves to go yellow as it's growing. The Echeveria is one of the cat friendly plants. I had my cats sniff at it and they didn't care for it. Baby succulent will be safe :) What I found online, "succulents are beneficial for improving air quality, promoting a calming atmosphere, and potentially even aiding in stress reduction and boosting productivity. They also offer low-maintenance care, making them ideal for indoor environments." Closing up with it being a good size store located at the end of Ringwood Ct. Plenty of parking. Prepare to spend 30 minutes perusing around in finding your ideal plant. Owner is quite helpful with explaining on how to care for a plant and what to choose. I'd say it's a good starter plant for the beginning of a hobby and I'd say good for the kids to learn about nature. My first plant as a kid was a terrarium.

This woman LOVES succulents... all conceivable varieties, morphs, colors, geographic regions. You'll find it all here. And she's ready to help you understand why you will also soon be a collector of succulents. Four Seasons occupies the end space of a small strip mall just off 880 in San Leandro. Their indoor shop is filled with pots she's sourced mostly from China. But outside, in the sun, are all the assorted succulents she has curated from all over the world. There are Mediterranean succulents, South American, African, Australian, Asian... it all gets overwhelming at some point. But the owner is always roaming and ready to fit your home space reality and sun exposure to just the right variety of succulent that catches your eye. She has specimens that will thrive outdoors in our Mediterranean climate or indoors in everything from direct to indirect lighting. Expect to get succulent overload here. A heads-up: Nothing has a price tag here, so you will need to find the owner to work out the cost of specimens. Many of the plants are already potted so the price works out to the combined cost of both plant and pottery. But the deals we got were reasonable and fair for two succulents plus their unique pots. And she will happily put together better prices for the more you buy. Don't miss this incredibly unique store. Come for the succulents. As someone who loves peonies, I was delighted to discover CharMarron Peony Nursery, tucked away in…read morethe hills of San Jose at 535 Sierra Road. According to their website, they have over 240 varieties of peonies under cultivation. It's a bit of a drive to get there (a very scenic one), so you want to check their website to ensure they will be open. We caught them on one of their open days before they closed for the season (usually around Memorial Day). But they sell potted plants all year round, and you can make an appointment on their website. Bare root shipping is available from Aug. 15-Dec. 31. The lady who owns the place is friendly and helpful. I purchased 2 of the potted plants, "Bowl of Cream" and "Nellie Saylor." Compared to what they charge in most nurseries in the area for similar sized peonies, these were a bargain! Next year, I'll be sure to go earlier in the spring, to catch most of the plants in bloom.

For mother's day my mom had wanted to get a Meyer lemon tree and I didn't want to disappoint her. With the how my back yard is set up I wanted something that wasn't going to grow too tall but have lots of fruite. We went to Willow Glen Nursery and we were able to find exactly what we needed with the excellent help from the owner. He gave us a great deal and we were able to get the tree planted same day! Even better they planted a potted clementine tree we had been waiting to do. Our yard is mostly clay and old rock so it's a real pain to plant anything new. Their crew came and saw this, went back to get the right tools for the Job, and were able to successfully plant it and hook up water from our existing watering system. I couldn't be more pleased and would highly recommend this business. Also note we paid for the planting of the tree, but it was really nice that they threw in planting our clementine at no additional cost.

We chatted a bit about the unique bowls he used to create decorative plant displays, and he hyped me up by saying I know my plants. I ended up buying a Raven ZZ and Alocasia Mickey Mouse for around $65. I appreciate that he wrapped each plant to prevent soil from spilling. Before I left, he mentioned that they typically sell at the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Farmers' Market, in case I wanted to check them out again. It was nice to learn that they were more local to my area. I might check them out since I enjoyed the conversation and thought the pricing was fair.

I had just started my hobby taking care of indoor plants. The plants I have are a Tornado Plant, mini Umbrella tree plant, peacock plant and an Echeveria succulent. I bought another succulent called the Haworthia Moon from Plant Cultura. This plant you can see through the leaves. People can be drawn to try growing these beauties once you see them. Succulents are good starter plants to try. There are a large variety of succulents and it's best to ask the owner which is a good one that's easy for you start with.
