You'll always get excellent advice here for whatever your landscaping needs! Whatever vehicle we drive down in ends up being filled to the brim with plants. On our last visit we picked up native coontie, corky stem passion vine, milkweed, and several flowering natives... oh, and a beautiful croton. My wife also gets large orders of plants from here for her school, and over the years plants and trees from here have transformed her campus into an oasis with birds and butterflies and wonderful shady spots. Be advised... you'll drive into a residential community, which may be confusing, but keep going. D has a massive lot with all types of healthy looking fruit trees at various ages. He was able to teach us about best practices for placement and care of our new avocado tree, and was also able to answer our questions about the vision for our yard. D does consultation for creating food forests and also will source and deliver whatever you need. We look forward to purchasing more flourishing trees from him in the future!

After reading great reviews, I decided to pay Richard Lyons Nursery a visit and was glad I did. The property is a little tricky to find and from the street doesn't look that big, but once you enter, you will see the outside looks are deceiving. This place is packed with all sorts of ornamentals, fruit trees and other types of plants. After choosing several plants and having the sales ticket written up, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $40. Had I gone to another place in Kendall or a major retailer, I would have paid much more. I will definitely be back for more.

We first discovered Lyons in our search for rare Atala butterflies to augment the population at our house... the folks at Montgomery botanical center had recently brought a population of Atala caterpillars to feed on Lyons sizable coontie selection. We were lucky to get a coontie with freshly laid eggs... that was in late September, and they emerged from their cocoons today (late October). They have a wonderful selection of butterfly larval and nectar plants. They have both local and exotic plants also including bamboo, heliconia, and more. When you arrive, park a short way in... a siren will announce your presence, and you'll soon be met by a guide in a golf cart. We've been four times so far, and each time we go we've discovered a new area, and new plants. As you wander around, make sure you look at the amazing mature specimens that dot the property.... such an amazing variety... it rivals a botanical garden!
