Today I took a gardening class from Dylan Terry, the owner and learned valuable information about starting my own plot at the Boca Community Gardens. For only $25 we had an in depth lecture, a 7 page handout so we didn't have to take notes, fresh herbal water to sip on, and a tour of the food forest & garden. Natalia and Kara, who are on staff, also shared their knowledge as they cut generous portions of fresh greens and gave them to us to take home. They are a group of young, hard working and dedicated people, with a mission to empower people to grow their own food. After the 2 hour class we were given discounts on herbs, edible plants and seeds so we could begin our own garden. It was a refreshing way to spend a Saturday morning and gave me confidence on what is possible. Well worth the 2 hours of driving, to visit such a special place.

Typical harvest in our front yard garden.

This is a cool local family owned nursery specialized in edible gardens. They sell high quality soil and fertilizers.

The nursery is beautiful, with a wide variety of Talavera pots, fountains, statutes, and beautiful plants. Everything is thoughtfully organized, making it easy to browse and find exactly what you are looking for. One of our favorite parts of the visit was their variety of Talavera pots. They add such a beautiful artistic touch and really complement any yard perfectly. What really made my visit stand out, though, was Yollie's help. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She took the time to answer all our questions, offered help, and made sure we left feeling confident about our purchase. Her friendly and approachable attitude made the whole experience enjoyable. But their plants and flowers are all beautifully displayed and in a healthy state. Every once in a while they gave massive sales but for only a select few plants. I can't forget to acknowledge the workers. All so knowledgeable and friendly.

We buy all the sod of our house in Action Sod and it looks great !, of course we give it the necessary care, we water it and we do maintenance. It's sad to read reviews of people who think that as they bought the sod there, they should give them a guarantee so they do not water it, do not care for it or give it any kind of maintenance, every day I'm surprised more about people and their cheekiness. But in short I just came here to recommend it 100%, I would never think to buy things for my landscaping anywhere else! Action Sod has it all.

When I approached the payment window, the employee behind the counter was focused on her cell phone and walked away without acknowledging me. After waiting more than 10 minutes, another employee assisted me. I was also charged a credit card fee that was not disclosed or posted near the register. To make matters worse, after leaving, I realized my credit card had not been returned to me. When I went back, I was told it had been left on top of a computer for me to find. Customer service and basic courtesy seem to have declined significantly. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
