Personally would try and find another option for dental care if possible. The front desk staff are nice and the hygienists know what they're doing. However, I would be careful about getting seen by certain dentists at the practice. I historically have taken very good care of my teeth. Only had 1 small cavity in my life up until coming here, and my past dentists have always remarked at how well I keep my dental health in order. However, every time I have come here and seen Dr. Thomas, he has claimed to be finding cavities. The first time he told me I had a cavity, I let him fill it because I have always believed in trusting dental professionals and figured he probably saw something that I didn't. The filling experience was fine, he did a good job. I was more angry at myself for not taking better care of my teeth. I went back to see Dr. Thomas for my normal 6 month follow-up cleaning. Made sure to really brush and floss well in the 6 months between seeing him to ensure there was no cavity this time. Got seen by the hygienist who told me my teeth looked great and it would just be an easy cleaning job. When she finished, Dr. Thomas came in to look at my teeth and boom, all of a sudden I had a cavity. Immediately I became suspicious. He offered to fill it that day, but I told him not to bother and I was getting a second opinion. Went to see someone else and told them about my alleged cavity, and after looking at my teeth they just laughed and said they had no idea what he was seeing. My teeth were perfectly fine, as I suspected. I did go back to Sudbury Dental Excellence after a year, but requested to see a different dentist in the practice. I was curious if for the 3rd time in a row they would find a "cavity". Saw a hygienist and then a female dentist this time (can't remember her name unfortunately), and she didn't find anything out of order, even in the spot where Dr. Thomas had "found" something a year prior. Bottom line, people there are friendly, office is clean and inviting. Dental expertise seems a tad lacking. read more

Don't go there for a crown. They ordered the wrong tooth color and then told me that there was no other option for a color that matches my teeth. They didn't even ask me to choose from the tooth color chart. They picked the color for me and now I have a tooth that will never look like the others. And then, knowing that I wasn't happy with the crown, made me sign a paper that said I was. Bottom line... Good place to go for a cleaning, but don't get a crown there. Go somewhere that will go through the process the correct way. read more

The people here are extremely pleasant, professional, and the dentists are artists at their craft. Seriously. The care they take making sure my teeth look and feel right is amazing. In the past thirty years, I've tried desperately to find a professional dentist. Twelve years ago when I had my first root canal ever, my old dentist and staff botched the novocaine so badly, (directly into my cheek at one point instead of the gums), that when they hit a nerve TWICE, the pain was so brutal I almost ripped the arms off the chair. A week later, my cheek was STILL sore from the novocaine and when I called to ask about this, the assistant said it was because "you're older, get over it." Naturally, when Sudbury Dental told me I needed root canal, I was dreading it for a week. After two shots of novocaine and only 45 minutes in the chair, it was so painless that when the doctor said I was all set, I was half asleep. My cheek was JUST SLIGHTLY numb for only an hour afterwards.This was my third time visiting them. I'll always be coming back here. A great practice. read more

BEWARE!!!! I had the worst dental experience of my life. I am still in pain, my bite is crooked, the fillings are rough and rip my floss, and I am very traumatized from being drilled into and feeling it. I will never forget the feeling of not only the drilling, but the anesthesia being shot into a part of my mouth that had zero anesthetic applied beforehand. I spoke to neighbors and my family and they mentioned that they also stay away from this practice. I wish I could have known beforehand. I feel so traumatized that I have a therapy appointment scheduled. I have been to dentists all over the US and overseas, and I have never experienced something as horrible as like this. The doctor also has little to no bedside manner. I will never forget this trauma and I will never come back. read more

My previous visit with the dentist was fine, but I won't be returning after interaction with rude staff. One day before appointment scheduled weeks ago, I received a voicemail that it needed to be rescheduled. At the same time, I was receiving emails confirming my original time. I assume those are automated, but it was confusing. I called to sort it out within posted and recorded business hours multiple times and left multiple messages which were not returned. When I finally spoke with someone I was told they didn't open until 11am, not 7am as is posted and recorded on their answering message. When I said they should update their message accordingly, I clearly heard an exasperated "oh my god" whispered into the receiver. I work in healthcare. I understand things happen, but I expect my time to be respected and to be spoken to with respect. There are other options in the area, I will go elsewhere in order to be treated nicely. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Alvi and her team! I have quite a bit of anxiety regarding the dentist and finding the right dentist has always been an issue. Dr. Alvi put me at ease right away. I explained my concerns and she walked me through every step of the procedure. The office is very modern with many TVs sent up in the treatment rooms which is great to help take your mind off the work being done. Dr. Alvi also fit me in right away when I had tooth pain and made sure that I was able to see an oral surgeon within a few days. I also enjoy being able to book routine appointments online and having a reminder sent by text. Overall, I am quite pleased with Dr. Alvi and her staff. read more

PATIENT BEWARE!! The most unprofessional medical staff I've ever seen! Let me start at the beginning... Needed a dentist in my area that makes dentures since my current general dentist does not. Found them online, called, and here's the first red flag.. The receptionist was trying to get me in THAT day??! I'm thinking how good/busy, can this place be if I could get in the same day??..And she was offering me multiple times so it's not like they just got a cancellation. I digress... I went to my appointment to consult about dentures. I get taken in to an exam room. The dental assistant who draped me with "the bib" was very nice and personable. I have no problem at all with her. Sorry I can't recall her name:( In walks, what I thought was a dental "tech". She's is rose colored scrubs, very speedy with the way she acts and talks. Never introduces herself to me. Is sharp and condincending to the sweet assistant. Right away I don't like this lady. She's sniffling a lot too?? She starts rambling about how she just moved from Las Vegas. She's just very off putting. She starts taking impressions, seems like she's never done them before. She keeps coming and going from the room, tells ME what color the teeth should be. I show her the color she says "No that's too white, go the next one down". I'm thinking.. (It's my denture, lady, I'll get whatever color I want.) She leaves the room yet again.. I said to the nice assistant that I'll just wait and have the dentist do my impressions and she said that IS the dentist. I'm like Wtf??! I couldn't believe it. The most unprofessional doctor I've ever seen! It was Dr. Battaglin. I thought she was a dental assistant at first! She was having lots of trouble just trying to make a dental impression so I could start an upper denture. Rambling on all about herself, hyper, sniffling?? the whole time, obnoxious, rude. (Like she was on something.) When wax try-in was ready, I go back. She shoves it in my mouth. I ask for a mirror. Was told they don't have one. Wtf?? I want to see how it looks. Finally an assistant hands me a small framed mirror from the wall?? I make a comment to Dr B about the color of the teeth. These are 3 shades darker than what I agreed on. She doesn't like my criticism and storms out of the exam room just as the wax denture fell out my mouth & into my lap. Then she's yelling at me from down the hall. Bi-polar much Doc? She never comes back to finish the fitting. I complain to owner, Dr. Alvi (sp?) over the phone. Dr. A has me come back to finish denture. As soon as I get there Dr. Alvi, in the waiting area told me to go elsewhere since I was unhappy! Wow! This Dr. Alvi set me up to think she'd help finish the denture, just to refuse me treatment. Playing games. No "Excellence" here! Their good reviews MUST be fake! She didn't even want to hear my complaint about Dr. Battaglin! Hey SDE, ever hear of Karma? ;) DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE RUDE, SUB PAR SERVICE! Deserves NO stars but Yelp won't allow it!! read more

Office was poorly lit. Sort of strange home-decor feel to it. Joyce had a strange attitude, almost condescending, which was off putting. Work also ended up taking much longer than usual. I would recommend trying another place. read more

Just got home from my appointment with Dr. Joyce and it was the best dentist appointment I've ever had! The office is beautiful and so inviting. All of the equipment used is very high tech and they have flat screens on the ceiling for you to enjoy during your cleaning. The receptionist was incredibly nice and very helpful when it came to scheduling an appointment and sending reminders. The Marengis are very gentle and they make you feel right at home. I love that they take pictures of your teeth and explain everything that's going on with your oral health after your cleaning. Highly, highly recommended to anyone in the area looking for a new dental practice. This one is a keeper! read more

I went to Drs. Baek and Marengi for a second opinion. Another dentist had done a full exam and concluded that I needed a ton of dental work including a root canal and crown. Before taking the recommendation I went to Marengi dental. They too gave a thorough exam and determine that the first diagnosis was wrong - all I had was a bad cavity. Dr. Baek fixed it on the spot. I feel so lucky. They saved me $$$$. Very nice, knowledgeable and professional. They really took the time to explain to me what was happening and why their opinion differed from the previous dentist. The Marengi Dental practice is an experience in itself. From walking through the front doors and meeting the wonderful staff to sitting back and relaxing in the comfortable waiting area. You almost feel like you are home, rather than in a medical facility with all the personal touches. Every piece of the equipment used is state of the art, new and exciting. Both doctors were very knowledgeable, courteous and addressed of my concerns. They both made me feel so comfortable that I felt like I had a long term relationship with them for years.
