After he retired a few years back Dr. Reina Garcia took over. Typically I would shy away from a new dentist due to poor previous experiences as a kid, but I am glad I decided to give Dr. Garcia a chance. She is just as friendly, gentle and approachable. Best of all the staff (Anne, Tracie & Evelyn) never changed and are still very friendly and receptive to questions. As of this review I have been coming here for the past 6 years for my bi-annual cleanings and check- ups. During this time, I have moved further and further away but still come back here every six months because I feel comfortable which is very important to me.

However, I would be careful about getting seen by certain dentists at the practice. I historically have taken very good care of my teeth. Only had 1 small cavity in my life up until coming here, and my past dentists have always remarked at how well I keep my dental health in order. However, every time I have come here and seen Dr. Thomas, he has claimed to be finding cavities. The first time he told me I had a cavity, I let him fill it because I have always believed in trusting dental professionals and figured he probably saw something that I didn't. The filling experience was fine, he did a good job. I was more angry at myself for not taking better care of my teeth. I went back to see Dr. Thomas for my normal 6 month follow-up cleaning. Made sure to really brush and floss well in the 6 months between seeing him to ensure there was no cavity this time. Got seen by the hygienist who told me my teeth looked great and it would just be an easy cleaning job. When she finished, Dr. Thomas came in to look at my teeth and boom, all of a sudden I had a cavity. Immediately I became suspicious. He offered to fill it that day, but I told him not to bother and I was getting a second opinion. Went to see someone else and told them about my alleged cavity, and after looking at my teeth they just laughed and said they had no idea what he was seeing. My teeth were perfectly fine, as I suspected. I did go back to Sudbury Dental Excellence after a year, but requested to see a different dentist in the practice. I was curious if for the 3rd time in a row they would find a "cavity". Saw a hygienist and then a female dentist this time (can't remember her name unfortunately), and she didn't find anything out of order, even in the spot where Dr. Thomas had "found" something a year prior. Bottom line, people there are friendly, office is clean and inviting. Dental expertise seems a tad lacking.

I am now in my sixties, and I had major pediatric dental trauma from my childhood. Dr. Maria changed my life, enabling me to access dental care without fear. I had a crooked front tooth that marred my smile, which made me embarrassed. Dr. Maria told me she could cosmetically fix it. So I have had a beautiful smile for nearly 30 years, thanks to her wonderful work, which only took an hour or so in the soothing environment of her office. She has protected my teeth and my health for so much of my life. I cannot express my gratitude deeply enough to her and her wonderful associates.

I just took a new job and have to move out of state. I was overdue for an appointment and worked with the team to squeeze in before my move. They have a new receptionist team that is incapable of running this business. They rescheduled and kept playing musical chairs with their clients appointments trying to move them around. I just went in for my appointment finally, a few days before my move- for them to tell me they do not take BCBS anymore and would charge me $450 for the appointment. When asked why I wasn't notified of this , they claim they had Delta Dental on file for me. (Later when I called back- I told them my appointment in December with BCBS and they confirmed that is who they billed out.) For months I've received emails from them telling me I was due for an appointment and to call and schedule. NOTHING about no longer accepting BCBS. I left the office so upset and called back to speak with the supervisor, Crystal. She was just as incompetent as her team. She said "if it was that big of a deal, they would have billed out to BCBS and had me mail them the check..." when I clarified that she meant bill, she corrected and said check. She wanted me to pay my insurance for seeing them out of network, and then wanted me to pay THEM whatever portion of my appointment that insurance would cover... wow they truly care about the customer... I requested a call back from Dr. Putt and plan on telling him what a disaster his team has become. When it was him and his one front desk receptionist, they might have been short handed- but they were good and actually cared and had their sh*t more together than they do now. Now I have wasted time making appointments, going to an appointment I had to leave, talking to them, crying in my car, and writing this post- all to be moving out of state with a new job, stressed as can be, and overdue for a dental appointment (after getting completely screwed over by the practice my family and I have given business to for over a decade.) I am beyond upset, and cannot advise others more to find a different dentist- this is NOT the same practice that it used to be.
