It's a cancer charity which I think is based in Wales so it isn't as high profile as many of the other charity shops around but it's well worth supporting. I remember once upon at a time they had a kiosk in Asda where they sold charity scratch cards which. Not surprisingly it disappeared soon after the National Lottery stated up so their shops are now an important source of income. The shop sells the usual range of second hand clothes, books, videos and so on. It's a nice little shop with friendly staff so please visit it if you're in Llandudno as they need your support.

Two weeks ago I saw a small metal Chinese cigarette holder on the counter and expressed interest in it. It had not yet been priced and the assistant put my name on it and reassured me that I would be the first to know the price. She told me to come back a week later on the Monday which I did. This time two valuers were there and when I asked about the cigarette holder one of them in a very curt and rude manner informed me that it was sold. When I asked how this had happened without me having an opportunity to buy it as promised, she waved me away, made it clear she did not want to discuss it, turned her back and walked into the staff room. Why was I given no explanation? Was this because I have a foreign accent and was not deemed worthy of an explanation? Is it the normal practice of the two valuers at this shop to take items of beauty or age out of the shop and sell them privately, thereby depriving the good people of Old Colwyn of an opportunity to buy them? Frankly I felt humiliated and I was in tears after the way I had been treated and ask whether this is the way a loyal customer should be treated? Tamara Partington

The Twig Shop. Well…read morenot so much a shop, rather a garage. Yes it's just a car garage, It's been going for some years now. Wednesday and Saturday it opens up the top sliding door to reveal a bit of an Aladins Cave of bits and bobs. It's all run as a charity to help people in third world countries. Every penny goes to the help needed. All items it sells are donated by the community and sell for a very small price. It's not the most elegant of little charity shops but it does what it says on the tin and really does help others. I nip in there very often and find those little gems that add something to my life. Very much the old saying Someones rubbish is another persons treasure.

Seriously guys - there's like board games here, board games are awesome - remember that one board game. No dude, you will remember it. It was, like, about life and junk. I think it was called, like, the Game of Life. Well, guess what - they totally had that here and it was all, like, under £4 an junk. And books - they got some classics here, man. No, not like The Little Engine Who Could, like actual classics - Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Return of the Native, Far from the Madding Crowd. Hardy was a stone cold prince, dude. They even got wedding dresses here, man. No joke. Serious; scope this. You could, like, plan a whole wedding from all the gnarly stuff in this store. Is your mom still single? The Tenovus Charity Shop is one of two Charity Shops on the High Street in Conwy. The Charity…read moreraises funds for the prevention and treatment of Cancer sufferers in the Community - so it is a very worthy cause. It is run by very efficient volunteers, who are friendly and welcoming and most of all who take great pride in their Shop. The Shop doesnt have the feeling of a Charity Shop, in fact I have seen many people walk past and be attracted by the professional Window Displays before realising that its a Charity Shop! Inside everything is perfectly organised into sizes or colour scheme and everything is labeled and priced professionally, unlike most other Charity Shops where everything is a bit of a mish mash, Tenovus is a joy to shop in! There are 4-5 rails of Mens and Womens Clothing and a small section for Bric a Brac, household items and Books, DVD's and Videos. Everything is resonably priced and in good Condition and it's a great place to pick up a Bargain - I have bought lots of items of Homeware and Kitchen Equipment and will always pop in when i'm passing to see what New and exciting items they have on offer!
