I was very sad and upset when the floral spray I ordered arrived at the funeral home for my ex-husband from myself and our children! The arrangement was NO WHERE near what I ordered. Forget that it wasn't even HALF the size it was supposed to be, but flowers were already wilting! The spray was supposed to consist of a full arrangement of all red roses, some red carnations and red gladioli. It had MAYBE 8 roses, some carnations and PURPLE gladioli, and then it was mostly greenery! For $250, I should've received what I paid for! It wasn't something that could be corrected AFTER the fact. The funeral was over! my kids were so upset. they wanted the beautiful spray we ordered for their father! even the funeral said she had never seen such a thing. She saw the picture of what I ordered and then what I got, and she couldn't believe it! I ordered through Teleflora.com, and the order was filled by Sueppel's in Iowa City. Family members wanted to send me flowers to my house. They were out of state and Suepples was the in-town florist they ordered through. Although the flowers arrived and looked good, Suepples has a policy to deliver the flowers to your neighbor if you're not home, which they did. Fortunately, my neighbors brought them over but what an idiotic policy Suepples has. Why kind of business relies on others to do their job for them. Wish I had read these reviews before I ordered from Sueppel's. My sister had a miscarriage, and I wanted a nice, professionally arranged bouquet sent to her house. The flowers did arrive, but the arrangement was AWFUL. I was completely ripped off. I could have had her husband go out and buy flowers at a grocery store and stick them in a vase for less than half the price for the same or better effect. read more

I received a bouquet yesterday from Sueppel's Flowers and I was very disappointed! The bouquet was purchased by my daughter through 1800flowers and the order was filled by Sueppel's. My daughter was charged $80 of which $49 was for flowers and the rest was for delivery charges and fees. The bouquet contained a total of11 flowers! It had 3 roses, 5 carnations and 3 freesias. This is what Sueppel's considers $49 worth of flowers. I called Sueppel's and they basically said that my daughter shouldn't have used 1800flowers. I feel that my daughter was taken advantage of by both 1800flowers and Sueppel's. read more

My beau ordered flowers prior to Valentine's day expecting them to be delivered the Saturday before. Sueppel's assumed the order was for Valentine's day. When the order came, which was a dozen roses, two of the blooms were damaged. One was a bent stem and the other was a nicked neck. Sueppel's did replace the bent stem (I didn't notice the nick in time). For all the problems, next time I'll be finding a florist that treats its flowers more carefully. read more

If I could give them less than one star I truly would. This is not a company worth ordering from and anyone looking to send flowers ever. Ordered through Telefora and when the plant came, it came in the plastic bucket with no moss as what was depicted on Teleflora's website. When I returned it, the lady tried to brush me off with another pot in the store which were not what i wanted and claimed that Teleflora did not provide her with enough funds to build the plant as it looked on the website. It was replaced and still is not to my satisfaction and not complete. read more

Sueppels has no concern for the customers that have been going to them for years. The downtown store has closed, when voicing my concern there was no compassion at all. Rather than ordering through their website, I called in my order so that I could deviate from the standard FTD bouquets offered on the website. I also thought a direct order might provide better value. The website says that local deliveries are free, but they charged me $8.95. Also, I was very disappointed with the quality. I paid $62 and ended up with a smallish bouquet of a couple lilies that had net yet bloomed, a few tulips and daisies, and too many cheap carnations. If you must order from them, I'd suggest just going with the standard FTD offerings on the website. At least you'll know what you're getting and the delivery will be free. read more

I ordered flowers on saturday and asked if it could be there on sunday, which they said they could do. The flowers were not delivered on sunday, which i understood because it was a short notice, however i expected them to be delivered the next day. Instead of being delivered the next day I received an email without explanation stating my order had been canceled and I would receive a full refund in the coming days. I will be waiting for the refund and if it does not come within the 3 business days they state I will be reporting them to the better business bureau and taking legal action. I ordered a bouquet flower a day before Valentine's day and told them to send at noon on Valentine's Day for surprise to my wife. Sueppel's Flowers delivery person delivered wrong flower with wrong order to her. Then I contact them the lady admitted the delivery person sent the wrong flower. They assured me will sending the right one. Until 4:15PM my wife called them to make sure if they will sending because she will leave for the day. The lady that pick up the phone very rude toward her. Then the flower not get send on Valentine's but the day after. The bouquet came not the same again with what I ordered. Then I contact the shop the clerk pick up the phone said the owner Ted was not there. I emailed also my email not being respond. Then I came to store and I found Ted there. He admitted made a mistake; First sent a wrong flower with a wrong name to right address. Second a bouquet that I paid for $70.00 not came with the exact picture that we ordered. The flower was not enough only 3 roses and 5 carnations and dry and wrong vase. This is absolutely made our Valentine's Day became a bad day. Their service was terrible and not treat their customer with respect. If you look their website stated when you choose us, you can always expect to be treated more like a family member and less like another customer. Beautiful arrangement...but some of the flowers lasted only 3 days. The others, which are generally long lasting flowers, started dropping shortly after that. When the store was contacted, the response was that they need to be notified within 24 hours for any recourse. read more

I ordered a dozen roses to be delivered to my daughter in Kentucky using the FTD system. I received a pic of the flowers that were delivered and found it was only three roses sprinkled in with carnations. I called Suppels to explain the error and got nothing but plenty of attitude! I was asked what I expected them to do now? I shared that they should make it fit, but that never happened. Pretty expensive carnations!! I will never do business with Suppels ever again! I would recommend never working with this business. I had special ordered flowers with the agreement that they would be in exactly two weeks after I ordered them (which was a Tuesday). I was called on Monday, the day before my flowers were supposed to be in, and was asked if I really needed them the next day- which I did. They told me they were not sure if they were on the truck coming in, and told me to call before I came in. I did that and was told their truck was not yet in and they did not know if my flowers would be there that day. I called them again later that afternoon and they still said they did not know. They suggested checking back the next day. I waited until Wednesday afternoon to next call them, only to find out once again that my flowers were not there. They told me they would be in the next day (Thursday) and that they would deliver them to me for free. I told them to deliver them at 5:30 which is when I would get home from work. At 5:45 I still had no flowers so I once again called the store to find out where my flowers were. I was told the store owner had just left the store at 5:30 . I then told the employee on the phone that I wanted a refund because at this point I was sick of having my flowers be pushed off to coming later yet again. She said she would call the owner who was delivering my flowers and talk to her about it. The owner at one point called me because she was unsure where my apartment was. I did not mention that she was already late, I just gave her directions to my home. When she finally showed up at 6:05 PM- 35 minutes after the time we had agreed upon for the delivery, I asked if the store employee had called her. The owner said that yes, she had, and I then asked if I was going to receive my refund for the flowers. Her first response was "No, they're right here". I told her I didn't care if she gave me the flowers or not, either way I wanted a refund because the whole situation was at this point ridiculous. She then tried to tell me she had no control over the flowers being late because they had ordered them from Holland, and said that she was under the impression that the flowers were supposed to be delivered anytime after 5:30 PM. She even went so far as to say I was mean for not having told her that she was already late when she called me for directions. Once I finally got her to agree to giving me a refund she left, and for still some reason seemed surprised that I was unhappy with the situation. If that's how the owner does business, I don't even want to know how the rest of the employees act. read more
