My dogs are lucky enough to join their dog friends for playgroups under Sue's tutelage. Not only do they get to have a blast and burn off all that pent-up energy, but I know Sue keeps an eye on the pups to ensure they behave and socialize safely. Each time they return from an afternoon of play, my dogs are noticeably balanced, happy, and ready for their naps. Sue is a rare find. She is loving, patient, and knowledgeable. She knows when to expect better behavior from my dogs and when to let them be. She's advised me on diet, treats, nature vs. nurture, exercise, training - she's been a good friend to me and a top notch 2nd mama to my dogs. Sue is absolutely fantastic! She was able to take our crazy, crazy 10 year old mutt and finally get him calm enough to be around other dogs and he's now a regular member of her play group. He's a great dog at home, but very excitable and we had all but given up on the idea of doggie daycare or play groups for him. Sue was able to figure out how to deal with his anxiety and now he loves going to the play group with her twice a week, or boarding with her when we travel. I can't recommend Sue enough. Sue is the best dog person. and really, just the best person around. Not only has she probably forgotten more about dogs than others tend to know, but pretty much every service she offers is unparalleled. Our dogs became better socialized just from her loving care and attention, and we always noticed the difference between days when they ran around in her playgroup and tired themselves out by the late afternoon and other days when they'd just be walked (by someone else) and still had tons of energy to tear through the house and try to climb on our heads. Basically, if you're sitting here on Yelp and going, "Hmm... I want my dog to have fun and be active while I'm at work" and Sue operates in your area, or you even think she might operate in your area, stop browsing Yelp now and send her an email. You'll be glad you did. Bonus: the photos she posts of all the doggies (including her own) on Facebook are the best. Sue is hands down, the BEST dog trainer/sitter/caregiver around. We'd been through 4 other trainers who didn't know how to manage our dog's particular brand of crazy. But upon first meet, she could read Bowser like a book! She saw all of his character quirks and flaws, and didn't just give us textbook training methods, but advice that would fit his particular personality. Bowser's now a calmer and happier dog, thanks to Sue. Her special love and understanding of dogs is so very clear in how she treats them. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for Sue and Sean! My dachshund, Daisy, and I moved to Malden a few years ago and we needed a day care situation for a few days a week, so she could get out and socialize and play. That's how I found Sue and the playgroup and it's been amazing. Daisy can be shy, but she's totally come out of her shell. She absolutely adores Sue and Sean, and I always know she is in the best hands when she's with them. Sue has even helped us with some training (she is the dog whisperer), and Daisy has boarded overnight with them as well. Sue and Sean are just the best. Twice a week they pick up our 75 lb lab, Moose, for play group. We know that Moose loves those days, because he is extra lazy when he comes home! We also love knowing that he's having an active and meaningful day while we're away from home. What drew us to Sue's Pet Care was meeting Sue for the first time. She let us stop by with Moose for a little test-run, and we loved watching how she interacted with him -- totally encouraging and playful, but also correcting behaviors along the way. Sue is amazing! I first met Sue over five years ago when I was looking for a pet sitter for my pup, Ms. Mint. At that time, my husband and I, were new 'pet parents' and we were vehemently opposed to putting our less than 1 year old pup in a kennel environment and nervous about leaving our baby with just anyone. We knew that we wanted to find and build a relationship with an experienced pet sitter who would treat our pup as their own. We were so, so, so fortunate to find Sue. From the moment that Mint first met Sue, she loved her. We added a second pup to the family, Mr. Mikah, a few months later and Sue happily agreed to care for them whenever we were out of town, whether for the weekend or for almost 2 weeks, when we went on an extended vacation. Mint and Mikah ended up loving Sue so much that as soon as she walked in the door to pick them up for their stays with her, they would go bonkers with excitement. They always came home very, very happy and tired dogs. Sue was like a second mom to Mint and Mikah for 5 years while we lived in Boston. She truly cares about the dogs she takes in, is trustworthy and just an overall good person. Sue is absolutely amazing! We met 4 years ago as new pet owners. She came to our house for a training session which proved to be invaluable. A year later we left our dog, Peanut with her while we went to FL. I was so nervous doing so but knew Peanut was in good hands and getting great socialization with other dogs. Sue knew how nervous I was so she sent me text messages and photos to make me feel at ease. We just went away in June and luckily she had the space for Peanut again. We feel so lucky to have found Sue's Pet Care and our golden, Hazel. Sue and Sean are not only amazing pet trainers/sitters/owners, but they're great people, too. Hazel has come such a long way since joining playgroup 2x a week. She has a blast playing and socializing with other dogs, running around, and even the occasional paddle around a baby pool. Whether playing in the snow or the sun, she comes back exhausted and happy! Plus, you can't beat the convenience of having your pup picked up and dropped back off after playgroup. Hazel has also boarded with Sue and Sean and they treat her like a member of their own family. When we're away, we feel confident that she's in good hands and getting lots of love. I don't know what our family would do without Sue! Our rescue, Nacho, can be difficult with new people, but he met Sue early on and is now a devoted fan. He's so excited when she comes to get him for playgroup every day, and I love that he gets fresh air and socializing practice. Sue is fabulous. She took in my rambuntious rescue Boxer, Lexi, for weekly walks this Spring and a long week end. Sue invited me to her home to see where Lexi would be before my trip. She has a lovely, fenced in yard, and 3 marvelous dogs of her own. Her house is warm and inviting. Sue knows dogs, and gave me good tips on Lexi's behavior as she was a young rescue with little history. Miraculously, Sue got her to lie down on command after Lexi stayed for the week end, a command I shared with Sue that Lexi wasn't doing consistently. Many of us are dog lovers, but not all of us have family or friends who want to be tied down by our pets for a week end. Sue is that tremendously warm, kind, and knowledgable," dog saint, " who can give even a neurotic pet owner a needed break if travelling. Sue also came weekly to exercise Lexi. On the "dog group" days Lexi was always tired and content when I arrived home. Sue also is great at posting pics if you leave your pup with her for a few days or if your dog is in play group. Sue has been caring for my dog since I brought her home over 2 and half years ago. My dog goes to playgroup with Sue and her pack everyday and boards with her in her home when I travel. She has reinforced training with my rambunctious dog and taught her to play safely with dogs of all sizes and ages.
