When one thinks of a Caribbean beach, this beach is what was in mind. The colors of the water on this side of the island are just unreal, and makes for a great backdrop to you lounging in a beach chair holding an icy painkiller.
Located on Sugar Bay Resort, you will have to get through resort security to get to the beach which is behind their pool and restaurant facilities. Parking is right after the security gate, so its a good 5-7 minute walk to the beach area. As is with any resort out here the public can access the beach however, the lounge chairs and hammock are for the guests of the resort only. They can catch you easily at this beach, so don't try to pretend you're a guest to use those chairs as this resort has wrist bands on all of their guests.
You can do non-motorized sports here like kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, as well as sailing (goes to BVI and St. John on the Coconut or Daydreamer). On the food front, there is Mangrove restaurant which serves up a Caribbean lunch buffet (items change daily) and Pimentos Grill. Drinks can be purchased from Turtle Rock Bar next door to Mangrove. Unlike other beaches there is no one taking orders on the beach and the main reason of why this beach lost a star is because its losing a lot of sand. It is very rocky here so if you are planning on going snorkeling (which is amazing at this beach) out there use fins, or reef walkers and watch where you step. There are tons of sea urchins out there. The resort should collect them all to eat, uni is delicious, and they have a sushi restaurant.
If you are staying on the East side this is a nice place to spend a day relaxing.
