(There were around half a dozen.) As soon as they were able, they waited on me and started my sandwich. I went with the Roast Cheese to go. (Also got the meal deal with a bag of Zapps Voodoo flavor and a drink.) The bread is amazing! The Roast Cheese is one of the hot subs. The picture does not doe it justice below. (Remember, it was to-go.) I didn't get a lot of cheese flavor but the beef was great and I loved the horseradish sauce. I really liked the vibe here and will be back to pick up lunch again. I definitely want to work through the menu.

Well, that plan quickly fell thru lol Once I quickly finished the first half, I went in for the second. Great customer service. While waiting for my order to be made, there were two southern gentleman in there eating lunch and were sharing compliments on how good their sandwiches were. I'm not sure what ones they ordered but it sure got me looking forward to eating mine I would most definitely come back to Zarley's. Best sandwich's I found in that area.

Big Dipper Creamery in Tulsa is located in a really cute area called Brookside, close to downtown…read more Parking seemed pretty reasonable when I went, especially if you avoid the busiest times, and there was parking available along the side of the building. Inside, the shop has a lot of cute seating areas, both indoors and outdoors. They also offer a fun variety of flavors. I ordered a small cup of the honeycomb lavender ice cream, which came with a free waffle chip. They also have cones, flavored cones, and other options if you want something a little more elaborate. The ice cream itself was very creamy and delicious. I would have loved to have some actual chunks of honeycomb mixed in, but the honeycomb flavor still came through nicely, and there was a swirl in the ice cream that added to it. Overall, it was a really delicious scoop and felt well worth it. I visited on a Thursday afternoon around 3:00 p.m., and it was already fairly busy with families, moms, and young kids. I imagine it gets even busier in the evenings, especially during the summer after dinner. Overall, it is a neighborhood-friendly spot with great ice cream and a fun neighborhood feel.

The ice cream was delicious and of course I got sprinkles. The mini flight is a great way to get a few different flavors if you can't decide and it's not an overwhelming amount. I highly recommend if you're visiting the Tulsa area! The staff were very helpful for our first time.

We met friends in Sapulpa which is on the opposite side of Tulsa from us so we rarely make it over…read morethere. Decided to ask the former fire chief for a recommendation and he said try Crossroads Cookery. Our friends wanted to go antiquing so this was right in the heart of Sapulpa's antique area, so perfect place for lunch. I really enjoyed all the care they took with making it feel nostalgic but classy at the same time. It's a lovely restaurant but they also have an ice cream parlor area, bar and coffee bar. Now the food was ok for some of us and one in our party got a way overcooked burger that was dry so it sucked for her. My Santa Fe bowl was so good and I recommend it. Hubby got the string onions for the table to share and they were delicious. Our server was really interesting and friendly as well as took care of us. We'll definitely go back during the Christmas Chute!

You know when you kind of love a place so much you almost don't want the whole world to find out…read moreabout it? That was this place for me. I had noticed it before when visiting the Christmas Chute, but the reviews were a little mixed so we never gave it a try. Fast forward to this weekend when we got invited to a birthday at the speakeasy upstairs... and I'm so glad we finally went. First of all -- they're doing a great job with the speakeasy concept because I genuinely had no idea it was there. It's upstairs above the restaurant and you need a code word to get in. Since we were already there, we decided to have dinner first and the menu honestly surprised me in the best way. It's very much Southern comfort food, but elevated a bit. The vibe inside is eclectic and interesting. The staff was super friendly, and even on a Saturday night it wasn't overly busy. The new streets in Sapulpa look great now that the construction is finished, but because most of the parking is behind the buildings the street can look like a ghost town even when places are actually busy. Kind of a weird illusion. They start you off with bread and a trio of fresh butters which was unexpected and delicious. The bread itself wasn't anything fancy, but the butter definitely was. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered from the kids menu (which I very much appreciated did not say "12 and under"). I got a grilled cheese and the waitress suggested adding a cup of tomato bisque. Yes please. Both were excellent. My husband ordered the grilled chicken and said it was moist and really good. They also have a full bar and a huge coffee bar, which I thought was a fun touch. Then we headed upstairs to the speakeasy and it's a whole different vibe up there. Very cool space. Also extremely eclectic. Think Tommy Bahama meets world traveler's curio cabinet. There were travel finds from around the world displayed in cases, parrot chandeliers, a baby grand piano, and a cheetah print pool table. It somehow all works. Live music was by Steve Lindell and he was fantastic. Two thumbs up. Bar service was great, just a little slow -- but to be fair I don't think they were expecting a 40-person birthday group to roll in all at once. All in all it was a fantastic night. If it wasn't about 45 minutes from my house, we would probably be regulars. But maybe it's okay if it stays just a little bit of a hidden gem.

So that's actually a positive in my book. The bathroom was well stocked and they have chocolate sprinkles embedded into the floor, so that's kind of a cool touch. The only negative would be that The person working behind the counter is a little socially awkward and doesn't greet you much when you come in. But when I made the first contact and explained that I was on my first visit here she quickly jumped into action and helped me understand what to do. And they did have a clear menu unlike a previous poster said. My friend enjoyed his ice cream too. And I thought their prices were good. It was only five bucks for my ice cream. It was a little small, but some places would charge you almost twice that.
