Updating my original review after picking up my suit and shirt yesterday. The final result absolutely earned the fifth star. The tailoring was 100% worth it. Once I tried on the full ensemble at home, everything fit perfectly. The jacket, trousers, and shirt all came together exactly the way I hoped. Clean, sharp, comfortable, and tailored without feeling overdone. Jeff did a fantastic job throughout the process. Efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He really nailed the fit and guided the alterations well. I also want to give a shoutout to the gentleman who helped me during pickup and a quick try-on. He was friendly, genuinely happy to help, and made the experience feel easy and welcoming. My original comments about the check-in process and alteration pricing still stand, but the true test was always going to be the final fit and finished product. Suitsupply Abbott Kinney delivered. This review is going to be mixed and I'll tell you why. Good Experience: I went to Suit Supply for my brother's wedding and they were great. They handled the suits for my 2 brothers and I and did a great job every visit. Aaron was the stylist and it was such a great experience I decided I would go there for my wedding. Which leads me to: Terrible Experience: (My Wedding) Visit 1: I booked an appointment and waited like 30 minutes before they saw me. Courtney was great and things were going well. I picked my suit. No issues. Visit 2: There is one guy at this location who is blonde and has a very tired eyes and annoyed aura about him. I came here without making an appointment and he made a point to be impatient when speaking with me and told me I was putting them out my showing up without an appointment. Now I kind of get it because they are busy, so that's on me. But I felt pretty rushed and wanted to get out of there because I felt guilty. I'll take the blame for this visit being bad on the chin. Visit 3: This time I called to make an appointment and got tired guy on the phone. I immediately knew it was him because he sounded annoyed as hell to have to speak to me on the phone and help me make an appointment dispute hassling me the first time. Upon arrival I checked in by scanning just like they asked and was essentially treated like mannequin. No one (besides Aaron) even checked on me, so I just sat on a bench feeling invisible yet very much in the way until they were ready for me like 40 minutes after my appointment time. It was finally time to get dressed and upon doing so I ended up sitting on a bench for another 10 minutes or so before anyone checked was ready to help me at which point they seemed like they wanted me out of there as quickly as possible. Keep in mind I sat there for about an hour watching everyone get extremely hands on treatment when it was their turn, and it just felt like because I was picking up a suit they just wanted me out. And I'll tell you why I'm writing this review. I've never been in a store and felt like I left where my feelings were hurt. I don't really know how else to phrase it. In my head I imagined getting the suit for my wedding would be this cool experience that would leave me feeling excited for the day, but instead I left feeling extremely deflated and with almost negative excitement for picking up the suit. I'm not going to blame Aaron for this. He seemed to be aware that the service was awful but did confess they were short handed. He seems to feel pretty bad about it,m. I also get that. I'd even go as far as to recommend him if you go. But doing something as simple as acknowledging my existence and offering me a nasty box water they hand out would have gone a long way. Suffice to say, I'm going to be going to Nordstrom or even the pits of Macy's before I would consider coming back here. I spent $900 on the suit for the wedding. I don't think expecting not to be treated like the invisible man is asking too much. read more

Stay away. Store associates care more about making the sale than ensuring clothing fits you correctly. They have quality items, but at the end of the day fit is the most important aspect of men's formal wear. I bought two shirts from them and had one altered. After the alteration, it still needed to be taken in on the sides and they recommend I take it to another tailor called Garry's as they don't do side alterations. So they expected me to pay more money to have an item that should've fit correctly after their alterations. I then told them I wanted to return the other shirt that they were holding on to for me and they said 30 days had already passed so I couldn't return it. This was after I had bought a full suit and two additional suit pants plus additional pants earlier in the year from them. So despite having spent a substantial amount of money at their establishment, they refused to make it right and take back the shirts. Stay far, far away unless you like ill fitting clothing. read more

Had a great experience here buying a custom suit and shirt yesterday. I worked with Aaron who was amazing - the place was pretty busy but he still took a lot of time going through the fitting and customization with me. I was buying a linen suit for the first time and there were a lot of design choices I would normally make with more common fabrics that wouldn't work with linen - Aaron was great about guiding my ideas while explaining exactly why they wouldn't work in the context of that fabric rather than being pushy about it. They have a great selection of ready to buy suits as well, but you really can get anything you want here if you go custom. The prices for custom are also really competitive here. Came in with hopes of finding my partner a suit and was blown away by service. They have a lot of ready to wear suits and offer some alterations. If needed, can do a custom suit fitting right then and there. Custom suit pricing wasn't as expensive as we had thought so we went with that route. They offer monogramming for free. Custom suit takes about 4 weeks and they will continue to alter for free if the first round still needs some tweaks after trying on. Definitely get an appt especially on weekends. There was an individual looking to return something but because of no appointment, they had to wait for a while for the next sales rep to help them. The bf & I stopped by here on a day when we were seeing 2 other suit shops after and literally came back to this spot after a week because we were so impressed by the service that Jonathan gave us. From offering his advice to all our questions to offering the most stylish pairings of shoes & shirts to go with the suit styles we were looking at, Jonathan really knows his stuff and we were very impressed. This place was small. I don't have much more to add other than that. I mean if you are looking for a freshly tailored custom suit I guess it might be fine but that's not why I was here. I was looking for something off the rack to be altered and the selection was pretty poor just because this place was small. It did seem like it was in a hip cool hangout spot and i bet they have nice cucumber water in normal times and you can chill here while they look things up and fetch things, but I don't want any of those things. This place is girl fine. Like its not really ok but we'll say its ok. Came here for a suit for Wedding. We did semi- custom meaning they take your measurements and part of it is tailored before arriving at their store. We didn't splurge for the fully-custom because of timing (Lead times are long as to be expected). Ok so the suit arrives, hubby gets call and goes to pick it up but alas... it isn't there. About an hour later after digging through their "Inventory management system" if one can really call it that, they realize they gave it to someone earlier in the day who had apparently returned it back to the store realizing it wasn't his. Now we're at an hour and a half in looking for the suit again (No joke) So hubby spends 1.5+ hours in store waiting for them to find his suit and they offer him nothing, not even a matching shirt for wasting his time. Poor customer service. So they measure his pants jacket etc and have some "minor" adjustments to make. Given how much time he has invested, he doesn't try the suit on when he picked it up the second time and somehow, pants were 2-3inches too short. Looked a tad Willie-Wonka esk. We likely will bring to a real tailor at this point. Suit Supply offers unlimited tailoring (with custom items) for a reason, because apparently they aren't very good at it Clothes themselves are middle of the road. Look nice and ok quality. Staff is a little rude, but as others have commented, its Abbott Kinney so we really can't expect much better than a few PMSing men. read more

My husband bought his suit for our wedding here. We were initially a little puzzled when we walked in because the store seemed small without much selection. But with the help of a shopping buddy and a sales associate we were able to figure out what we wanted and place an order to pick it up in-store a few days later. The in-store tailoring came out great as well! And for what was essentially a custom suit, the price was very reasonable. You may have to work a little bit to find out what you want here. I walked into the store and the salesmen completely ignored me for fifteen minutes while I walked around looking at the waistcoats and sifted through the stacks looking for my size. The selection has some pretty cool choices, although this is more geared towards a place that make a custom suit for you. That is if you are too lazy to go downtown and save hundreds of dollars. They don't have hardly any slacks on hand to choose from, mostly shirts. Went in to give it a try again in a pinch, and a guy named Jonathan (who I wasn't even sure worked there at first--as he was wearing a polo shirt and sneakers) was too busy trying to clean up for closing at 6:30p to pay me much mind. I finally flagged him down and he told me that they close in 10 mins so he probably wouldn't have time to measure me for alterations. Cool... didn't even know if I would need to alter the jacket. I am a local attorney here in Los Angeles and I'd like to take a long past due moment to laud one of the best salespersons I've ever met, Reggie Holliday. I met Reggie at Suit Supply Venice back around 2018, when I purchased several suits. At the time, I needed to revamp my professional wardrobe and Reggie was all hands on deck helping me out. Not only did he impress with his experience and knowledge with men's clothing, but Reggie showed passion for my shopping experience and made it clear that a lasting relationship was more important than aggressively upselling and maximizing the bottom line for that day. And it's worked. I've been a loyal customer of Reggie's ever since. It's been several years since I met Reggie and he has retained every characteristic that made him my guy since day one. No matter how busy, Reggie has taken the time on numerous occasions to show me new items, humor my petty particularities with style and fit, and make sure I received anything I needed from alterations in time if it was needed for a specific occasion. Any time there have been questions about the quality or fit of an item I purchased, Reggie made sure I walked away feeling like I received even more than I'd bargained for. But most importantly, and at the risk of throwing him under the bus, Reggie has been open and honest about his opinions concerning various Suit Supply products. This type of attitude has given me confidence in Reggie, and when I am confident, I buy more. As I anticipate my need for professional clothing to rise with growing expectations of "in person" work, I will no doubt look basically exclusively to Reggie for any wardrobe needs; that is, if Suit Supply is lucky enough to keep him. Time and again, I've expected to hear that Reggie has moved onward and upward. What can we say? The guy's just loyal like that. To put this all in perspective, I literally drive several miles past the Suit Supply nearest to my residence to see Reggie when needed (which is saying a lot in Los Angeles). As someone who has worked for several prominent men's clothiers, I am aware of what it takes to bring high quality customer care, and Reggie has no shortage of these qualities. I was kind of turned off by the experience. They don't even have any suits without the double pockets in a unique textured fabric.
