That said, I was a little nervous when I walked into 303. I like to play around with retro style, so my choice haircut for my length was Crockett in S5 of Miami Vice. I know, I'm a giant dork. After taking a quick look at the reference pic, we were off and running. It's the best haircut I've ever gotten. Ever. I'm having a tough time remembering his name, but the dude who helped me out was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about what he was doing. He had a brand new skeleton themed smock, so I could tell he was having fun with the job. He didn't rush the job, he wasn't distracted or thinking about other clients, and he took a full hour and a half to give me the exact cut that I wanted. And yesterday I found my person! Amanda at 2nd nature in Niwot. You know when your hair looks great no matter what you do with it, even sleep on it, you have found your person--your hair stylist. Amanda asked a few questions and really got into my hair and just gave me a super cut! Amanda is part artist! It didn't even take the full hour. And she was such a joy to spend time with! I always say you gotta enjoy the company of the person who cuts your hair. She's booked 3-4 weeks out so don't drag your feet.

I tell her I'd rather a discounted haircut and that I don't use conditioner. She agrees. I will go ahead and spoil this by saying she did not give me the discount and did put conditioner in my hair after saying she was "just wetting it" when I told her I'd already washed my hair. I had a specific inspo in mind. I'd been growing my hair out for it. I wanted a Ramona Flowers type thing but with a blunt cut because of my hair type. Jaz sloppily stuck two pieces up and when she cut them they were super unevenly distributed. One was made of like 5 hairs and one was thick like I wanted. She blamed it on my cowlick which makes no sense. I went home and cut it. I was a little disappointed but whatever. Until I realized later that the conditioner had been hiding a pretty not blunt cut otherwise. I am so upset. It was an expensive cut, she made me wait like a week beyond my appointment for it, didn't give me my discount, and when I contacted her to tell her that I didn't like it, she said I could rebook. As if I'm giving her another $50. And mind you, she took like 30 minutes on it! No time at all. I have no idea what I did to this lady. Invest in a three way mirror, y'all. Customer service is down the drain.
