I went here hoping to get a perm that would be great for my Handfasting. A soft curl, chin length perm. I did not want to look like a poodle with tiny curls. Thought the stylist was very nice I am stuck with looking like a poodle. The curls are tight and when not wahsed daily with a conditioner turns into a frizzy mess. I wanted some curls so I didnt have to do daily maintainence! I was so glad I had a professional stylist for my ceremony as she smoothed my hair out and made me look fabulous for the day. Every few months a girl deserves a little pampering, and I want to do it while I sip on some wine and eat little snacks. Run! Seriously. This should not be called a salon. It's not a salon. It's a shopping plaza hair cuttery. They have professional pictures taken of their place, which makes it look better but once you walk in you can tell right away what it is. All the products they use are the cheapest they can get and that cheap smell stays in your hair for weeks. They don't know what they're doing with color. They will ruin your hair. May be safe for cuts for guys but as a girl I can tell you to not go there and ruin your hair. read more

Be sure to read the 'hidden' reviews. There are some honest ones there. The good reviews are from people who have only 1 yelp review (this one!) . Anyway... my experience was similar to some of the other disappointed reviewers. I told Kelly what I wanted, lots of blond, and lighten the underneath color so there was not the brown. Golden bright blond was what I asked for and made it clear. Her highlites on my hair were so few that my hair is still brown, dull and almost the same as when I started. No lightening my color underneath. I also wanted a different contrasting color on the bottom half, we agreed on a color, then JJ came over and said NO, you can't do that, she is not 18 years old. But I wanted that, clearly it was my choice. Then she cut my hair, and reminded her that I wanted layers so it would be fluffier. She did not want to cut layers. "But I want layers!" Worst hair cut/color I have ever had. I walked out of there looking like the Bride of Frankenstein. After I had told her my hair had been layered and it did not work for me, she layered it more. The back looks as if a dog chewed if off. Worse, was JJ thought it looked great. I should have known something was up when I came back from the shampoo and the woman next to me had a startled look. Do it yourself, have a first grader help you but stay away. Not sure where she received her training but it hasn't been in the last decade. read more

The staff is really nice. But the hair cut is terrible, i had one length hair to my waist, she suggested layering and cut the front way shorter than what i asked for. The hair also fell in chunks which looked terrible and made me deeply regret the hair cut. and i went in because of the special prices on the window which was $14 for a student cut. And when i was done, she charged me $25 because apparently price have changed... read more

JJ always does a great job on my hair. My hair is very fine and it's hard to find a hairdresser to give a layer cut without it looking blocky. JJ uses a razor for my layers and they look great. Her prices are reasonable and the location is convenient. It's a small salon but always very busy when I come in. I thought Kelly was doing a great job as I got to see the balayage. It was okay, could have been more subtly transitioned. The hair color was not bad, but when I asked for layers that is where I made my mistake. I have fine thick curly hair, which means that my hair is fine but there is just a lot of it. I came home to straighten my hair and review the layers I started crying. My long hair has to now be cut to my shoulders for a redo on layers. She took the layers here and there and was not paying attention. It looks like layers of straight line instead of the correct layer texture that gradually gives the perfect look. I have never been so frustrated. I thought she knew what she was doing. I do not recommend as they do not know how to put in simple layers. read more
