However, we have what I now realize is "pie steps" at the bottom landing - so that meant we could only do non-patterned runner - and the oak treads were too nice to allow that. So, we found Creative Carpet, because they could do the apparently IMPSSIBLE: custom weave a patterned stair runner so it flawlessly meets the pattern at the angles of our stairs! Everything was installed correctly. However, communication could have been better. The first day they came we were unaware that it was going to be a 2 day job. The process for our downstairs included a 72 hours period where we wouldn't have access to our downstairs. Fine they told us mid day and they left at 5. The next day they came they came with 4 people. Two people left mid day and left the other two workers to finish the job. However, our doors no longer fit properly in our downstairs area one door leading to our garage. The two men who left earlier were the ones who had the tools to complete the job. They did not communicate this until right when they were leaving so they needed to come back a third day to fix the doors. We lost a lot of heat through the doors so it would have been nice to have a heads up. However, they did do beautiful work.* Update they came back today and still couldn't fix all the doors. We went to several stores, had to wait for a salesperson and then had a hard time getting questions answered. Then luckily we went to Floor Craze and immediately had the manager's full attention. He showed us a a great selection, ranging from gorgeous high-end wool carpeting and wood flooring to stylish ceramic tile for the mudroom. He explained all the options, including the pros and cons, and gave us a very specific, detailed quote for each room, including taking out the existing flooring, and installing the padding and new flooring. Their prices are surprisingly reasonable! As soon as he placed the order for each room, he gave us frequent updates on delivery and installation times. The whole crew was warm, friendly, efficient and very professional from delivery through installation through cleanup. Everything was delivered and installed on time and perfectly.The rug for our entry had to be re-cut and rebound twice, for example, due to changes during renovation, and Floor Craze did that seamlessly within a couple of days, both tones.
