We had such a wonderful time sailing on a beautiful summer night and we even got to see dolphins! Stopping off in the Cove toward the end of the evening sealed the deal!!! Captain John had ice so we could keep our wine and snacks chilled for when we were anchored in the Cove. The entire sail was a little over 3.5 hours and well worth the time and money. If there is a fish to be caught he is the guy to find it. Over the years we have done trolling trips, bottom fishing trips and more. He helped me refine my technique for flounder fishing, and patiently untangles lines. Whether you are experienced or not Captain Jack can suit your level of skill and put fish in the boat. He also filets them and does a good job educating about the local flora and fauna. His rates are very reasonable and overall I would absolutely recommend fishing with him to anybody young or old; experienced or inexperienced.

Caught our limit in another 20 minutes and spent the rest of the day tossing monster sea bass back. I dont think we spent more than 5 minutes without someone hooking up ( there were 3 of us ). Capt Jack knows the reef like the back of his hand; we would be 50 yards out of position and he would move back to hit more fish. An excellent day, highly recommend.

Boating seemed like an obvious option, but all the other tours I found looked crowded, not very intimate, and were pricey. Lucky for me, LBI Luxury Charters had just started doing private boat tours a month before my visit. Captain Mike and his crew member James could not have been more accommodating or pleasant, ensuring my friends and I had everything we needed aboard to enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise on the bay. They provided small snacks and drinks as well as a cooler with ice for the items we brought. The boat was beautiful and very roomy for the 4 of us -- you can bring up to 6 on board -- and was not ridiculously expensive for a two hour ride, especially compared to the other tours I found.
