We had so much fun and would love to do this again. We were a little bummed because the weather was not great and we had to change courses. I would've preferred to go down south near the boardwalk to see all the casinos, but we had to head north and the water was very rough and rocky. But we laughed and had a good time. We were sitting right under a speaker and we're worried that it would be too loud, but in fact, it wasn't working and it was pretty hard to hear the person narrating however, we'd like to where we were sitting so we stayed. read more

Firstly, I want to state that the crew was amazing. If you enjoy this sort of activity this is definitely the one to go on. Saw about 20 dolphins. Unfortunately, I am one of the people that doesnt enjoy this type of thing and was persuaded by my father and mother to go along for the excursion. Granted they didnt put a gun to my head, but I should have trusted my gut and not went. Let me tell you why you'll like it and why I hated it. Seating is super uncomfortable but great for dolphin viewing. Choppy waters...if you are prone to sea sickness or just afraid of the ocean like me. Please listen to them carefully if they say the water is extra choppy or they can't sit people on the upper deck because of rougher waters. That would be your que to exit...I didnt...I paid the price...no ones fault but my own. Waves were literally splashing on board, boat felt like riding a roller coaster...a lot of the people on the boat found this enjoyable...I and a few others did not as I white knuckle gripped the bench I was sitting on. For those of you who find that type of thing exciting this is absolutely 100% for you. Dolphins - there were alot captain said about 20. I saw some dorsal fins out of the corner of my eye but was unfortunately too panic stricken and sick to view them comfortably. Im not sure what a smooth water day is like, but I will not be returning not worth it to me. Like I said, if you enjoy all that stuff this is definitely the trip for you. Crew was amazing, knowledgeable, and attentive. Just be warned if you get seasick and dont do well with rough water..double check with the crew before hand or just dont go you will be better off. read more

Cruise date: WED 10/2/24 - 1pm Dolphin Watch Cruise ... Booking the cruise was super easy! Finding the marina location was a bit more of a challenge but my husband and I made it in time with 15 min to spare. Parking was plentiful and free. Weather was perfect - low 70s, low wind, sunshine and high clouds. The trip started in the bay at the dock, and in just a few short minutes we were headed out to the ocean. There were only 20 of us on board, and the upper deck was closed due to the windy and rough water conditions. As we neared the end of the inlet (entrance to ocean waters) the chop became progressively more noticeable. I was standing on the bow and managed pretty well for the first 5 min, but as the rocking motion persisted, I lost my ability to avoid seasickness. Thankfully there was a recycle bin nearby. A female crew member was in the area and was so very kind and understanding. She brought me a cup of ice and a couple of sickness bags. By the time she returned with everything I was feeling better, but I graciously accepted the items. I highly recommend anyone who is prone to seasickness to avoid eating at least 4 hrs before the cruise, avoid drinking alcohol before and during the cruise, and bring along seasickness bands if you have them. If you typically take anti-motion sickness medication, do so at least 30 min to 1hr before boarding. Eventually the rocking calmed down, and we saw at least 20 dolphins! It was really exciting to see them up close. During the entire trip, our captain shared very interesting information about the species and migration habits of these wonderful creatures. We stayed in the ocean for about 20 min and then headed back into the bay. The captain told us all about the dredging activity going on, the Atlantic City lighthouse, the casino marina area, and the Coast Guard station. It was a fantastic tour and my husband and I had a wonderful time! read more

Ok I'm going to preface this review by saying that the staff was as helpful as they could be, and seemed genuinely concerned. First off the seating in this boat is not good...most of the seats face inside so you have to turn awkwardly to see the ocean or they're inside a cabin which is hot and has no view of the ocean! HALF of the people on the boat this day were seasick including myself! Some worse than others but it was awful. It should be noted that they claimed this was a "good" day on the sea, I'd hate to see a bad one. This was hands down the worst experience I've had on a boat and I've taken many boat rides in various sizes of boats! We did not see dolphins and for this they offer you a return trip on one of their boats but many people declined, myself included. I do not recommend this boat trip to anyone, you will be disappointed. It should be noted that we had plans after the excursion to attend a free concert in the same location but I was still nauseous so we skipped it. This ruined the entire day, could not enjoy lunch either. read more

I took a group of 10 ladies out for a bachelorette party on the 6PM Happy Hour cruise and LOVED IT. I was really nervous booking the tickets because I read lots of reviews and couldn't tell if the it was going to be the right vibe for a Saturday night. But it was everything we could've hoped for! There was a DJ on the second floor who was great at taking requests and honoring the bachelorette(s) (On our boat alone, there were 3 bachelorette parties and 1 bachelor party haha!). There is definitely something for everyone here. The overall clientele on a Saturday evening seemed on the younger side which was perfect for us, but there was also some variety. The great thing is there is outdoor space on both floors where music wasn't so loud and you could focus on the sunset. Let's talk bar! It is located in a smaller room on the first floor, but they seemed to really know what they were doing with navigating the flow. People came in a door by the front of the boat, lined up to the bar, and exited through the back door. They only give one drink per person at a time, encouraging you to leave to drink it before returning for another. When our group walked up, we immediately asked for tequila shots but the bartender advised us that with the initial rush it was better to get drinks up front and come back later for shots. He was RIGHT, and went right ahead to make us all a drink! Not sure what the drink was called but it had Malibu, cranberry, and pineapple juice. We all loved it! About half of us paid for the "open bar" and the other half didn't. In the end, they never checked our wrist bands. My guess is this is because it was a busy weekend, and it might be different on a weekday. No complaints from us, and we all enjoyed the drinks more than we thought we would! Worth the money. Went on an afternoon Dolphin Watching Cruise. We had a beautiful day and a wonderful time. Our Captain spotted dolphins within minutes of setting sail and turned the boat several times so that all guests could catch a glimpse. We navigated the bay for almost 40 minutes and saw several dolphins which made for awesome pics and video. The Captain kept guests entertained throughout with dolphin and AC facts. AC hosts an annual fishing tournament that draws a lot of celebrities so we made a quick detour see Michael Jordan's fishing boat (no MJ though). It was a short Uber from our hotel on the boardwalk but there is plenty of parking should you choose to drive. The boat is open seating and there was already a pretty long line waiting to board when we arrived 30 minutes early. Guests were all ages and many brought children. Upper deck seating is covered as is most of the bench seating along the lower level. You can also sit inside while still having a nice view out of the windows. There is a snack bar onboard that serves alcohol, water, pop, and snack size bags of pretzels or potato chips. Single stall restrooms are on the first level of the boat. Tips are encouraged for the snack bar attendant and the Captain makes an announcement prior to docking to encourage tips to the crew. We did return to the dock about 20 minutes earlier than anticipated. I noticed this concern on some other Yelps so just a heads up that this is fairly common. I'd recommend this cruise to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary while in AC! read more

Highly recommend the 6pm Happy Hour Cruise! Beautiful ride exploring the channels of Brigantine. We did the unlimited drink package but it was limited and specialty drinks were unavailable. The woman bartender seemed new and did not know how to make all of the drinks. Speciality drinks were $10 each without the wristband. It might have been more cost efficient to do that as the cups were much bigger. Steps to second floor are steep so do not recommend taking the elderly or those unsteady on their feet. Bathroom on board was larger than expected but could use paper towels or a hand dryer. read more

While AC Cruises offers multiple options for a ride the only thing we've ever done has been the 1pm two hour Dolphin Watching Adventure. The set up is fairly simple. Call for a reservation or go online. In season and especially on a weekend it's best to do this in advance as cruises do sell out. During the week you could probably walk up maybe 30 minutes prior without issue. Coupons do exist in AC weekly and in a few other outlets. Me personally, I have no idea what the current prices are even though we've done this cruise four times since 2009 because I haven't paid since 2011. How is that possible you might ask? Well if you don't see any dolphins you get to come back for another trip for free and we're zero for our last three dating back to 2011. I know that more than likely most people see dolphins but I guess we're kind of like William H. Macy in the movie The Cooler just applied to seeing dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean. The format hasn't changed in that you start from Gardner's Basin and then either go north along the coast towards the end of the beach in Brigantine or south along the coast by AC and Margate. Personally we've always gone along Brigantine so I have no idea how far south towards Margate the boat actually goes. The trip this past Saturday was a bit on the rough side. The captain did his best to try and downplay the amount the boat was bobbing and chopping and while not something like you would see on Deadliest Catch in the Bearing Sea, it was bad enough that I was feeling a bit vomitish as were the two women next to us. Eventually we did see one dolphin briefly and the captain turned the boat around as we were heading back but he only followed it for a few minutes as the water got too shallow and he said that his crew made him aware that some people had enough with getting bounced around for one day. In the end even though we saw that one dolphin we again got another voucher for a return trip. I assume that at some point we'll be back to try and hopefully have better luck not to go zero for four. read more

I have been to AC a thousand times, and never once did the AC cruise. Took my mom on it. It was nice and peaceful and great to see all the beach houses. We did the happy hour time slot but we didn't have any drinks. From hearing the other passengers the drinks were well made and worth the price. On July 6, 2021 our family paid for a 2 hour dolphin tour and received only 1 hour & 18 minutes. The captain ended up slowly sailing back to dock shortly after a few dolphin sightings. It took about 17 minutes to arrive at that spot and then the majority of the time was S L O W L Y sailing back to the dock after a loop under a bridge which was to delay such an early arrival back! The captain then announced that we were arriving back early to give the crew time to clean the boat for the next group. So, we arrived back at the dock at 2:32pm! I usually am a very generous tipper but did not tip at all because I felt I did not receive what I paid a for. A two hour dolphin sightseeing tour! If I wanted the tour of the Atlantic City Casino shore line & a scenic tour around the bay etc, I would have chosen that option! Very disappointed. read more

We were in Atlantic City in August and I seen an advertisement for the dolphin watching cruise. It was very affordable for 2 hours so we decided to do it before checking into our hotel. We had a great time and we did see dolphins even though it was a cloudy day and the water was choppy. It was actually the day before a hurricane came in so I was surprised that we got to see some dolphins. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about dolphins. I learned things about dolphins that I never knew before. The captain talks to you the whole time and give facts about the sea and the dolphins. The boat had two levels and an indoor area where you could get drinks. We sat on the bottom level. Covid restrictions were in place and we were asked to wear our masks if we went into the indoor area to get a drink but you could take your mask off if outdoors. We had a great time and I'm so glad we decided to do it. I would definitely do it again. read more

Went out on the Dolphin cruise this past Saturday. Day was beautiful, the water calm and within 15-20 minutes ran into several pods of dolphins. At times there was dolphins right alongside of the boat. We circled among the pods for a significant amount of time. The captain provided facts and information during our time that was interesting and informative. Having time available after our dolphin time the captain filled our remaining time with a tour of Brigantine Island, the Atlantic City coast and the Back Bay. While I am sure that not every tour is this successful ours was and it was extremely enjoyable. read more

We had the most amazing time! First of all, we LOVE Gardener's Basin!! Our favorite hidden gem in Atlantic City. Lots of great times here! So cute and quaint. Easy, free parking. Great restaurants and bars. Neat shopping and the aquarium is small and manageable and the kiddos love it, rainy day activity or not. Our family just loves hanging out here. Very chill. You can usually hear Bob Marley playing in the marina. Grab a mojito and some snacks from the food trucks and take in the views. A totally chill day. We LOVE dolphins! Anti captivity is for us, the only way to see them. We were kinda skeptic as to whether or not we would actually see some, but the staff is pretty positive you will. If not, you will get a coupon to return at a later date and time. We saw them! Lots of them! It was very exciting for the entire family. It was pretty neat watching to pods swim next to boat with Lucy The Elephant in the distance. Don't worry if you're on the wrong side of the boat, they turn in several times for you. And it's a pretty smooth ride so I wouldn't worry about getting sea sick. The entire cruise start to finish lasts about two hours or so. We sat downstairs around the perimeter in the shade and it was perfect. The Captain had a great personality and told us some historic facts which added to the experience. (Bring cash to tip them after) There are restrooms and snacks for purchase inside. (Chips, soda, cans of beer and I believe hotdogs?) Look for a coupon in AC Weekly! We would love to come back soon! Atlantic City cruises is a nice diversion from the boardwalk casinos. Mom and I did the 1 hour happy hour cruise, which explored the back bay in AC. This means you will see beautiful sunsets, awesome beach homes and private boats that can be featured on Life Styles of the Rich and Famous, birds of the wild, and a close-up view of Brigantine Beach. I took off one star because the cocktails aren't great. Luckily, we chose not to do the open bar option and just bought one drink on board, which costs us $30 as opposed to $40 for admission with open bar. And besides, is $40 for the open bar really worth it when the ride is only one hour. All-in-all I definitely recommended this attraction, but I suggest just buying the $20 ticket and buying one drink on board. Cheers! read more

If for nothing else, take one of these cruises to check out the Back Bay area of AC. It's an off-the-beaten path, more rustic area without crowds until later in the day. The dock has four or five restaurants with a massive amount of waterfront seating and a gorgeous view. There are also a few cute shops to keep you busy. The cruise itself was a simple ride out of and back into Back Bay on a clean but no-frills boat. We took the 6:00 "happy hour" cruise, which did not actually have much in the way of deals on booze, but they do in fact serve booze ($4 for a Coors Light). It was relaxing and lovely but overpriced for what it was. read more

Bring sweatpants, hoodies, cameras and scarves when you go on this dolphin watch boat ride. Be prepared for an adventure. We boated about ten miles south along the Atlantic City coastline without sighting any dolphins. The air was cool to cold but invigorating and the ride was fun. As the boat turned to head back to the dock, it happened...first a few dolphins then more, then a humpback whale blew near out boat. Before everyone could react, another whale broke the water, then another. It was amazing to watch the dolphins jumping and diving together with whales! In all we saw at least four whales and fifty Dolphins. Even the Captain was impresses. He said in 17 years of piloting the boat he's only seen Whales about three times! He thought the cold air was one reason the pod came up near shore, but it was so exciting to be so close to such large beautiful animals. What a great day! read more

My family had a great time on the tour. The crew was top notch, and the Captain maneuvered the boat like an absolute champ. We had a smooth ride and there were great snacks and drinks available to purchase. We saw over 50 dolphin, including what is to believed to be a week old baby dolphin!! I did a dolphin cruise which was 2 hours and was a lot of fun. I saw dolphins peek out of the water maybe 30 times or so. On a previous tour I did in New York City, I saw dolphins jump completely out of the water 3 times or so. On this tour, I am sure that is also a possibility, just pretty rare to see and just a matter of luck. You will definitely see dolphins pop out of the water maybe a quarter or a third of the way, which is common. There is an upper and lower deck and a bar area with alcohol and snacks. There is a tour guide and have no complaints. The water was very rough for the first 30 minutes or so, but no complaints, it was actually fun to see and feel the boat swaying or moving up and down. read more
