Very kid-friendly office and the dentists and assistants are great with kids. They make them feel safe and comfy and not every dentist's office is like that. All my kids go there and we've been happy with the quality of work. The only downside is that pretty regularly the paperwork side of the house is lacking. You'll get a quote for one price and then the invoice comes in and it's $400 more than you were expecting. Or you update information and they don't do it properly and you have to enter new info and dispute charges because they used your old insurance info on accident and now it's your headache to deal with as a result. The front desk team seems a bit disorganized and the charges can seem unnecessary, confusing, if you don't stay on top of things. They also try to add unnecessary procedures and costs to inflate the total bill, so make sure you question why a kid needs laughing gas for sealant or something. But once you decline they don't argue, but unless you're monitoring what they suggest, you'll get charged for some stuff you don't actually need. TLDR, the ones doing the actual work on the teeth are A+, and that's most important. The front-desk team is C- and it seems like there's a concerted effort to squeeze the max amount of charges onto every bill/procedure. But it all averages out to a B+ and we'll continue going there. read more

I took time out of my day to bring my son to the appointment, only to be told it was cancelled. Find a different dentist. read more

Parents, please read this before taking your kids to Dr. Vali. I feel sorry for both the staff and the families dealing with Dr. Vali. In my experience, he showed very little patience with children and seemed easily frustrated. I was honestly surprised by how he interacted with both kids and parents. He was pushy about treatments and appeared more focused on charging fees upfront than on fully explaining the procedures. At times, we were charged before the work was completed, and then told we would receive "credit" for the next visit. When we asked questions or expressed concerns, he did not directly address them. Instead, he rushed through explanations and dismissed our input. As parents, we felt our opinions were not valued. We were also pressured to use laughing gas for our child when we felt it wasn't necessary. When we asked about alternative approaches, he became upset and raised his voice, insisting he would not proceed without it. Overall, the experience felt rushed, stressful, and uncomfortable. A pediatric doctor should be patient, understanding, and willing to communicate clearly with parents. Unfortunately, that was not our experience read more

If I could rate this place -5 stars I would, because of the experience , I have to say Dr. Vali and the staff at Summerfield Pediatric were beyond unprofessional. My Daughter had an annual teeth cleaning appointment . For some reason Summerfield Pediatric operations assumed my insurance was with a different provider from what I provided. I currently have Delta of New Jersey. Dr. Vali canceled my appointment while I was on my way to the appointment on the basis that they cannot find my insurance Info. When I called my insurance company they provide me with my member#, in addition to that they also stated that the Dental Practice is in-network. Worst service ever Dr. Vali is the worst. I wonder why this place still in business! I should have checked the reviews before going there. The doctor is so unprofessional. They did really lousy job for a simple cleaning for my kid. I have never see my kid had so much blood while cleaning compare with our previous dentist place. Dr Vali & his office are terrific. He is fabulous - fun with the kids but still efficient & professional. His hygienists are all great with kids. They really listen to the kids & parents and go out of their way to make it as pleasant an experience as possible. They were able to take all 3 of my kids at the same time for new patient appointments, so we were in & out in less than 45 minutes. They are very easy to get ahold of with office hours that run past 5pm, and they call back quickly when messages are left. They were flexible about changing our appointment time when I needed it and they offer appointments after school so the kids don't have to miss school to go. Just want to come back and update that I still love Dr. Vali! He is the best. The staff is amazing. My children are now 9 & 10! It's so wonderful to have an office that my kids love to go to. iPads, video games, all the bells and whistles. The beautiful fun bright office is somewhere we look forward to visiting. Also, my sons mouth was badly injured while camping last summer. I brought him to an urgent medical and they told me I really needed an oral surgeon. I called dr. Vali in a panic. Front desk has always been terrible but they've stooped to a pathetic new low, using Covid-19 as cover for their usual lying and incompetence. Had an appointment in January at 8:30 am on a Saturday. Got there on time. Front desk launched into a rant about how I was late for my 7:30 am appointment and should've been on time blah blah blah. I showed them an email they sent with the appointment time. Instead of an apology, I got a snarky response: "You were late but you've got that email so ok", as if I pulled a fast on on them by having that email handy. Didn't think much of it. Everyone has bad days. Got next appointment for same time in July. Got two emails, one in late June and another in early July moving it from 8:30 am to 8 and then to 7:30 am. I was fine with the first one but moving an appointment by an hour is a bit much. Called during business hours, nobody was available, left message with answering service. Now the lying started again. Got a condescending email saying they had to adjust appointments by 30 minutes because of the pandemic (nope, mine got moved by an hour). Said they'll call me on the same day (didn't). I reached out again in a week, got more lies. Said they called twice (did not, no voicemail, no missed calls). I've had 3 pediatrician appointments between my 2 kids since March that also needed multiple time changes. If I could give them zero stars I would. I am absolutely disgusted with my experience today. My daughter was there for a regular cleaning in April. She just turned 5 and is extremely nervous. They could not get X-rays due to her crying so we decided to come back and use laughing gas. Today was DISGUSTING. They took the mask placed it on her nose as she was screaming and said "OHHHH STOP IT, PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTS ON, CLOSE YOUR MOUTH AND BREATH FROM YOUR NOSE. THIS IS NOT THAT SCARY" He then proceed to grab her cheeks and chin and push her head up in order to take the X-rays. SHAME on you for calling yourself a pediatric dentist- clearly you work with children and you have now made my daughters experience worse. After the X-rays they noted that she had a cavity and needed work done. He suggested a crown in which they would put her to sleep!!! He then stated "OH THE PRICE ISN'T TERRIBLE PROBABLY AROUND $1,200 FOR THE ANESTHESIA PLUS THE WORK, SHOULD BE DOABLE". I'm sorry we are all not driving fancy sport cars into work every day. I have been coming to Summerfield since my daughter was 2 and I have never felt more uncomfortable. I called the office after I walked out and the man on the phone did not even sound sorry, he just reiterated how to fill the form out for the medical records. You're here because you're looking for a great pediatric dentist right? Well look no further. I visited Dr. Vali's office today with my 4 and 6 year old boys, and they are still asking me when they can go back. First off, when you walk in to the office, the decor is breathtaking. It's youthful and chic at the same time. Then you're welcomed by the receptionist, Christina, who is so warm and friendly (you'll meet her when you call to make your appointment) that you almost expect her to come from behind the counter with a warm batch of chocolate cookies (she doesnt though). We were taking off our coats, and one of the dental hygienist/assistants greeted us with warm lemon scented towelettes to wash our hands. I thought it was a nice touch, and further comforted me in knowing that I was in a clean environment, and that Dr. Vali pays great attention to detail. The little things DO count. I wont go into too much more detail about the procedures, just be assured that Dr. Vali and his staff are super patient, and do all they can to make their patients (and parents) very comfortable and not afraid of the procedures. My 4 year old who is usually very cantankerous was easily conquered by the kind gestures showed to him by the staff. After 5 minutes in Dr. Vali's chair he was smiling and became super cooperative so Dr. V could do his thing. At the end, they didnt want to leave! Again, I urge you to visit this office. Ample parking, no overcrowding, and double booking of patients, and everything is state of the art. You will be more than impressed and elated with the service. read more

My little sister and brother looooovvve going to Dr. Vali. He is extremely nice, very patient and professional. You can tell he's a very creative individual and takes great pride in what he does. His office is faB-U-Lous!!!!! State of the art, and all sorts of engaging, entertaining activities. I believe he designed it himself! I first went to Dr. Vali around the time that he first opened up last year. We have certainly returned and will be back again and again. Frankie is now 5 and we have been going to Summerfield Pediatric since his very first check up at 12 months. We could not be more pleased. We usually see Nina and Dr Vali but Today we worked with Jennifer and Dr June who helped Frankie giggle his way through his 6 month check up. Any anxiousness he had when he sat in the chair was quickly forgotten once Jennifer engaged with our very chatty little boy... they counted teeth together and she talked him through every step as they went along. If you end up going here, look out for the rush job cleanings by the barely trained staff. Don't expect any compassionate interaction with the brusque dismissive doctor either. He specializes in going in for the financial kill with the most dire fear inducing prognosis possible. He's full of crap so always get a second opinion. His staff are the kind of people who demand you swipe your credit card as you're holding your still unconscious child...so that they can ensure prompt payment. People seem to rate him high because he maintains a clean waiting /play area with a nice kitchen. He also has the nicest front desk male clerk I've ever dealt with. The office is really nice, the hygentist and Dr. Jackie were great. I was told that my daughter needed a crown and a filling for 2 cavities. When I went to the front desk after our visit, the man printed out the bill for the services. It was almost $1000 (with 20% off if I paid in cash...wink wink). Supposedly that included our insurance. I couldn't quite understand how 2 very common dental filling methods could cost me so much money out of pocket. I knew our insurance wasn't the greatest, but these seemed standard. I decided to get a second opinion at a dentist in White Plains. Guess how much they were going to charge me? $85! Even the laughing gas (which actually is not covered by insurance) was an insane cost difference - Summerfield charge $145, White Plains $35!!!!! I called Summerfield back to understand how on earth there could be such a discrepancy. After my many questions about insurance coverage and misleading information, I got to the bottom of it - they were going to use some top of the line filler for my 7 year old's baby teeth. Hey Summerfield - maybe rather than misleading your patients by thinking their insurance doesn't cover common procedures, you should tell them that the type of filling that you use is not covered by their insurance, but that it's top of the line (if they chose to pay out of pocket). My 5 year old daughter has a lot of anxiety when it comes to the dentist, which the practice was very aware of. During her most recent visit, they tried to x-ray her teeth, to which she had a complete meltdown, to the point of gagging. Dr. Mohammadi came into the room following the incident and completely shamed her. He told her to chill out and "go cry to daddy in the waiting room". When I had had enough and told him not to speak to her that way, he told me I should check my parenting skills as the likely cause for her "behavioral issues". I don't know another pediatric dentist, doctor or nurse who would qualify anxiety as a behavioral issue and certainly not relay that message in front of the child. I am disgusted by Dr. Mohammad's behavior and I am disappointed that others working at the practice allow this to continue. I hope that other kids and their parents do not have to have this experience. read more

Dr. Vali is nothing short of amazing! Our 2.5 year old son required a significant amount of dental work recently and we were referred to Dr. Vali. The idea of having anything done terrified us as parents, given how young our son is. Dr. Vali not only eased our concerns, but helped us understand exactly what he would need to do during the procedure, while the whole time managing our expectations in both possible outcomes and cost. We were so impressed with him, his staff, and his beautiful office. And have continuously checked in with us to make sure my son is doing well and healing nicely. Dr Vali saved my 4 year old's teeth! I had seen 8 other pediatric dentists on how to fill 9 cavities 2 potential baby root canals with missing adult teeth. Dr Vali was the only dentist that not only cleared his schedule for me but also has the lastest technology available. My daughter had a 2 hour procedure and came out with the most amazing teeth. In such a stressful situation, Dr Vali was direct and spent a lot of time answering all my concerns and questions. He called before and after the procedure and also gave me his cell number. TLDR: Dr. Mohammadi wanted to knock my 5 year old out, charge us through the roof, and do the most expedient thing (for him.) My 5 year old is anxious about being at the dentist. (Are there any 5 year olds that aren't?) After 4 visits, he (correctly) determined that she had 6 cavities. He insisted, however, due to her "high anxiety" that she had to be put under general anesthesia. That made me nervous. I am not a dentist; maybe he was right. Maybe general anesthesia was the way to go. But it felt, to me, like an OB/Gyn who wants to schedule a c-section immediately, without even thinking about any other option. I consulted with a pediatric dentist friend (in another state,) and she said that ALL kids are anxious, and that Mohammadi should at least TRY nitrous first. When I spoke to Mohammadi about it, he insisted that he had been doing this for years, he knows children, and there was NO way that my 5 year old could endure the procedures with only nitrous. He encouraged me to get a second opinion, and "when she" (meaning my daughter) "ends up hating them, come back to [him] and [he'd] perform the procedure" with general anesthesia. Mohammadi wanted to charge us nearly $3,000.00 for the procedure (which price tag, by the way, did NOT include the cost of the anesthesiologist; the cost of which, probably would have added another $2,000.00 or so to everything.) Flash forward to second dentist in White Plains. My daughter LOVED her immediately, begged us not to take her back to Mohammadi, and, as of today, she has had ALL of teeth fixed using nothing but nitrous. For a "professional" that "knows kids" and has "been doing it for years", Mohammadi seems to not know anything about kids, and doesn't appear (to me) to have the best interests of the children in mind. Knocking out a child may be more cost-effective and easier (read: expedient) for HIM, but it's not for me or my 5 year old. I cannot recommend Mohammadi to anyone. Whatever his skill level may be, I do not trust him motivations and, therefore, do not trust him. There are better pediatric dentists in the same area. I encourage you to find them. read more

3 weeks ago, Dr. Vali and his office staff saved my child's life. My sons, now going on 12 and 15, grew up in Summerfield Pediatrics from their infancies. Divorce hit a few years ago and I had to unhappily downgrade health insurance and find a different practice. Summerfield Peds is part of my cherished memories of my sons' childhoods...my little guys racing over to the child-friendly bright chairs and modern playroom, giggling on their way out with their funky new sunglasses and sugar-free lollipops. But most of all, there was Dr. Vali with his huge smile and infectious laugh, putting the boys at ease in a dentist's chair and boom! - cleanest, healthiest teeth with no pain and world class care. When my son's mouth became severely infected I had no oral surgeon. I called Dr. Vali's office and he called me from his VACATION faster than the speed of light, arranged all of my sons's medical care, and to be frank - spent his entire vacation caring for my son. This is definitely the nicest medical office I have ever been to - like a playground for kids but also brand new equipment and very impressive to adults. I am 26 and have always hated going to the dentist, even just for cleanings. It hurts and just makes me really anxious. I searched through pediatric dentists and found Dr. Vali and I am SO glad. He always explains everything to me in an easy, soothing way and is very gentle. I had a cleaning and two cavities fixed up, which would normally have me FREAKING out and in tons of pain, but Dr. Vali has such a soft touch and is so fast at his work that it was hardly any trouble at all. I didn't have trouble making an appointment and his whole staff was very friendly. The color changing lights and music were awesome and I loved the espresso.
