Gentle and caring staff!! My now 3 year old already has dental work done. He had lots of cavities already at age two. We went to another dentist last year and they were curt and condescending towards me bc he already had issues. As if I didn't already feel terrible about that. So we went to look for another dentist. This location everyone is so patient and calming. They have so many things to keep kids distracted like TVs on the ceiling, sunglasses to wear to block out the lights, even a little toy you get at the end of your visit as a reward. My son let the tech and dentist look in his mouth, use the electric tool to clean and even took one x-ray. Everything is well thought out for the patients. Even the overall color scheme is a calming light green color. The only thing that was confusing is to know which elevator bay you need to take up to the office, but that isn't the fault of the office. The design of the building overall is a little confusing. If you're following Google maps directions it will have you park in the "back" of the building. There are two entrances on that side. Take the left door. This is the "G" ground level. Keep that in mind when you are trying to get back to your car.

The BEST pediatric dental office. We have gone through a lot with our 4 year old regarding her teeth. When we arrived at Dr. Hoban's office we knew she needed a lot of dental work..Dr. Hoban and her ENTIRE staff were amazing. They walked us through every appointment, every decision, every phone call (we were calling often; poor Gaby who is a saint!!). They truly are all amazing. Our daughter struggled to get all her teeth fixed but here we are months later (lots of patience from Dr. Hoban and her staff) all fixed! Check up complete and all is well. We owe so many thanks to everyone in the office. We appreciate all you guys do and all your help through this journey! HIGHLY recommended for ALL your child's dental needs.

Dr.Hoban is my kids dentist and she is the best!! She is one of the few pediatric dentists in town and is super smart. She takes the time to explain everything and does a very thorough job. She is very compassionate and kind to kids. The office is very tastefully decorated, lots of books, toys and fun stuff for kids in the waiting room. The exam rooms have TVs on the ceiling so kids can watch a movie while getting their teeth done. Her staff is awesome too. My kids fav part is getting tokens at the end of their visit to use at the prize machines!

Recently started losing a lot of teeth and the practice recommended to pull the teeth to my son's mom. One of his front teeth was not ready to come out so when she pulled it it caused a lot of trauma. At my last visit, I met Dr. Kang. Dr. Kang was very rude. When I wanted to ask questions about a flap of gum tissue covering my sons tooth for several months, she got an angry face, told me there was no diagnosis except erupting teeth. Despite saying there was no diagnosis, she said a specialist may use a laser on the gum tissue. From my research as a physician for 24 years, I was concerned about the eruption being blocked and that this can cause crowding and other dental problems. Even more troubling, Melody Bryce a secretary was texting my son's mom a diagnosis and what was going on, but Dr. Kang said that she did not agree with the texts that my son's mom was relying on during the visit. She still felt like me scheduling a follow up visit for an in person exam was making her angry and aggressive against simple questions. If not an operculum, defined as gum tissue covering an erupting tooth, then what was it? Silence and agression. Instead of kindly discussing, Dr. Kang bunched up her eyebrows and got aggressive. My son was finally able to cooperate for an x-ray and an exam but Dr. Kang has poor social skills. The front desk is also rude. Since I felt like my questions were unanswered, I sent an email the next day to make sure I knew at what point my son would need a referral since his next appointment was in 4 months. The practice responded by kicking my son out of the practice. Dr. Kang did this just for me dad asking questions trying to make sure I am responsible about my son's teeth. I made sure to make a dental board complaint that Dr. Kang prioritizes herself and discriminates against small children. Dr. Kang is not willing to discuss or answer questions without kicking a child out of her practice. My son was very well behaved and cooperative at the visit. I am fine with finding a new dentist- I sure don't want a rude dentist like Dr. Kang touching my son, but it is the way that you may be treated by rude front desk staff or Dr. Kang that should make you choose another dentist. When asking for records, they sent me cropped png images where the names of the dentist was not shown, which is also strange.

The "cleaning" mostly consisted of quickly brushing my child's teeth and counting them. There was visible buildup that wasn't even addressed until I specifically asked them to scrape it off. For that price, I expected a much more thorough cleaning and better transparency about what was actually included. The appointment felt extremely overpriced for the level of care and time spent. I left feeling like we were charged a premium price for a very minimal service.

First of all, I loved the amount of fun decor and toys they have in the waiting room. Super fun and entertaining for my girl while I filled out paperwork. Front desk girls were also really sweet and patient. After filling out paper work and some added touches in their computerized systems they brought us back immediately where we found more colorful decor and friendly faces! We were in a fish themed room and shark tales played on the ceiling. I wish they had this stuff at the dentist when I was a kid!! The doctor and his assistant, Venus, were very calm, gentle, friendly and informative. I'm so happy that this office accepts Medicaid / Liberty Dental!! I truly feel like I'm getting the best care for my daughter here. They of course gave out complimentary toothbrush/paste gift baggie and let her choose a toy from their treasure chest at the end. Adorable. **As a suggestion for other first time mamas (like me): Like a pediatric office, there will be paper work during the first visit that can take a while to complete. So, if you can bring someone with you to entertain your little one I really think it will make the experience go smoothly! My daughter also had a lovey from home with her that she held onto and I think that helped. Truth be told I expected a boat load of tears with her having random people up in her mouth. Yet to my surprise, NOT A SINGLE TEAR WAS SHED! I'm amazed. Thanks Children's Dental Center!!

Unfortunately, the front office/financial communication has been so unprofessional and mishandled that I can no longer continue care here. In November, we came in for my son's cleaning. I provided the updated insurance card and specifically asked the front desk if the visit was covered. I was told yes. Once we were taken back, sealants were recommended. Again, I specifically asked if they were covered by insurance, and again I was told yes. At the next checkup, I was told the office still had not received a response from insurance regarding the November visit. Since it was still unclear, I asked what the cash-pay option would be for my son's cleaning. I was told it would be $246. I agreed to pay that amount so my son could be seen, although I expressed disappointment about the lack of communication. At that time, the staff member apologized and acknowledged the poor communication. Today, I showed up prepared to pay the $246 I was quoted, only to be told there was an outstanding balance from November of over $500 that had to be paid before my son could be seen. This was never clearly communicated to me. Had I been told that in advance, I would not have taken time out of my day to bring my son in under the impression that we were paying the cash-pay cleaning fee. Instead of taking accountability, the front desk staff had an attitude and tried to shift responsibility to the insurance verifier. This is not a small miscommunication. This is now multiple failures to clearly explain insurance, benefits, balances, and what would be required at the appointment. To make matters worse, I was originally told services were covered, then later told insurance was still being verified, then quoted a cash-pay amount, and then turned away in office unless I paid a balance I was not properly informed about. That feels like a bait-and-switch. This office also previously sold me a $500 mouthguard appliance for my son's grinding, despite knowing he has asthma and already struggles with breathing. His pediatrician later strongly advised against him wearing it at night due to safety concerns. To their credit, the office refunded me once they were made aware of the issue, and I let it go because we liked Dr. Thompson. But combined with this latest situation, I can no longer ignore the pattern. There are many children's dental offices in Las Vegas, and families deserve clear, honest communication before services are performed and before they arrive for appointments. The dentist may be great, but the front office and financial communication here are unacceptable. Whatever response the office gives to justify this does not change the fact that I repeatedly asked about coverage, was repeatedly given incorrect or incomplete information, and my son was ultimately refused care after I arrived prepared to pay the amount they quoted me. I would not recommend this office unless they make major changes to how they communicate insurance, balances, and treatment costs with parents.
