My cousin had his wedding & reception here at this venue. It was interesting how it was done. One side of it was where the reception was held, and behind us was a white curtain cutting the room in half. Once the wedding was over, they opened up the curtain and we saw the tables for the reception, bartender, etc. So it was nice not having to get in a car, and drive to another place, or catch an Uber to another location. I do love the rustic Steampunk look of the place which added some charm. I will say, the best place to take pictures is out in the small front entrance areas under the string lights at night. The pictures will look much better. The only issue I had was the male restroom smelled like urine, so they do need somebody to come in with some bleach, and clean the bathroom, behind the toilet, walls, etc. #2024-5 #5034 read more

Our wedding at Summerour Studio was just incredible. We obviously fell in love with the aesthetic of the interior and gorgeous courtyard. This is one of those venues that you see pictures of and just know it is somehow even more stunning in person, which it is. Just about every last guest in attendance was sure to mention how beautiful the venue was- particularly during the cocktail hour in the courtyard. We got a drape to cut the venue in half between ceremony and reception areas, which was great for our 73-person wedding. Although it easily could have fit a ton more guests given its sheer size. It was an incredibly beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives! Working with Monica was fantastic from start to finish! read more

As a luxury wedding industry professional for more than 22 years, I could have chosen any venue in Atlanta for my son's wedding, but Summerour was the winner right from the start. Monica was kind, warm, and on top of every single detail. We had to wait through Covid (almost a 3 year engagement!) but Monica stood by us every step of the way. The staff on the night of the event was amazing! My guests were treated like royalty. Bar service was top notch. I wish I could do it all over again; the night was absolutely perfect. Summerour Studio is an event space tucked behind Atlantic Station, between Midtown, Buckhead, and Westside. It's operated by Novare Events who operates six venues in Atlanta. I've had several friends get married here. It's a popular, versatile, and relatively affordable venue for weddings. My fiancee and I, who are in the throes of wedding planning ourselves, considered Summerour for our wedding. Summerour reminds me of one of Novare's other properties, the Foundry at Puritan Mill (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-foundry-at-puritan-mill-atlanta-2), over on the west side. Both venues are refurbished warehouses/industrial buildings that originated in the 1920s. Summerour originally belonged to a printing company. It was updated and named after its architect in 2005. Both Summerour and the Foundry at Puritan Mill are primarily indoor venues with large, flexible event spaces. Exposed ductwork, beams and trusses, large curtains to separate spaces; you know, that rustic modern kind of look. Where Summerour differs from the Foundry at Puritan Mill is it has lower ceilings (the Foundry has vaulted ceilings) and no support columns, so the interior space is completely unobstructed. Summerour also has a cute little outdoor courtyard entrance/area and an upstairs space with city views. The courtyard can be used for smaller outdoor ceremonies. At Summerour, parking for guests is valet only (complimentary + tip). At a recent wedding we attended, Summerour was the site for both the wedding ceremony and reception. Both the ceremony and reception were beautifully decorated with florals from Stylish Stems. Cocktail hour took place both outside in the courtyard and upstairs where there are two rooms, one of which has skyline views of Atlanta to the south. The courtyard is small, but picturesque with string lights, brick arches, and a whole lot of greenery. The upstairs area was minimally decorated and featured the cocktail hour bar staffed by Novare bartenders. As for the food, it was catered by Summerour's exclusive caterer, Bold Catering & Design (https://www.yelp.com/biz/bold-catering-and-design-atlanta-2). You can't choose a different caterer here; it must be Bold. Bold was one of two caterers we seriously considered for our wedding. They're associated with Fifth Group Restaurants (Ecco, Lure, South City Kitchen, etc.). I won't go into detail on the food here because this review is for the venue, but we thought the food was delicious. My favorites were the thin-cut kale salad (fresh and flavorful) and the three-cheese creamy mac 'n cheese (so good). I should note there were some food supply issues -- we hardly saw any hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour (I suspect this might have to do with servers not being able to make it from the second floor to outside before their serving trays were cleaned by other guests, but even when we were upstairs, apps were few and far between) and we never saw any peach and mozzarella salad at the buffet line. A Novare employee directed us back into the main room for the reception. The reception space was both gorgeous and functional with a wedding cake/dessert corner, bar, photo area, photo booth, dining space, standing space, DJ booth, and dance floor. Lighting and sound were great and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. We had a wonderful time. The send-off was one of my favorite parts. The guest count was roughly 140 though some had left before the send-off. We gathered in the courtyard and blew bubbles for the bride and groom. The string lights and additional lighting made this area at night look magical. I wish I had snapped a few photos or took some video, but my hands were full blowing bubbles. It looked awesome and is one of the more memorable send-offs I've been a part of (and I've been to a lot of weddings). Summerour impressed me and, as a member of my company's party planning committee, I will definitely throw their name in the hat for consideration for a future holiday party. I had all my eggs in one basket when I went to go visit Summerour. After hours and hours searching online, I was sure that Summerour was my wedding venue. My mistake was that I went to go visit the day after my friend's wedding and unintentionally I was comparing this and that. What I didn't like about Summerour was the foliage, groom/bridal suite, creaking floors, staircase, and just how big it was inside. The reception area is really meant to accommodate 200+. Otherwise, it would look empty and I'm only planning a wedding for 120 max. You can put up a curtain division to either do both ceremony and reception indoors or to reduce the reception area. Curtain divider would come in handy for plan B on a rainy day, but otherwise, it sort of just defeats the purpose. If I was to have our wedding here, we would have had it outside and when we saw the lack of greenery outside, it was disappointing; especially it being close to May, the month that I was hoping to get married next year. Inside, the floors creaked and the building felt hallow, the groom/bridal suite was basically a 4x6, and whether it's replica of the michelangelo staircase or not, the color makes it such an eyesore. With all these aside, I still wanted to believe that this could be the venue and sent a request to Monica as a follow up with couple questions and a list of preferred vendors. After 3 or 4 days have passed and I got no reply, so I made another request. And... nothing... it's been over 10 days. My emails can't be going into her spam mail as we had an email thread going back and forth. And I know that she is checking her email, because she just responded to my finance's request... shocker. Despite all my doubts, I feel that I didn't overly show my disappointment and had asked for preferred vendors during my visit. I truely have no idea why I wasn't getting any follow ups... Yes, I get it. Summerour is pretty popular venue, but it's pretty offensive that as a bride-to-be, I'm being filtered? Maybe because I had a small guest list and I wasn't ready to spend a fortune? That would be my best guess. As a venue that caters to weddings, I'm pretty appalled. Wedding planning is already stressful enough, thanks. I found my venue that actually cares about the customer and good luck to those that books here because if it's already headache from the start, I wouldn't imagine any better through out the whole process. read more

Attended an Tanqueray Trukshow Event a few days ago and they put on a very nice event. The star was cute, fun and knowable of the festivities. My friend happen to say that this venue was a nice event to hold a wedding at. Which was accurate, I totally agree. Appetizers prepared where on point for what it was worth and cocktails were light. I don't think there was much appearance to the outside...(not that I seen anyway...) so, don't expect anything like lakes, ponds or staircases in the inside but, if your looking for a simple but, nice venue for any occasion...this perhaps may be a reasonable gem located 5mins from behind Atlantic Station. read more

We had our wedding reception at Summerour on March 31, 2012, and I can't say enough good things about the venue. It was absolutely gorgeous, perfect for a great party, and had so much character. Even better, since it was one large space, there were no separate areas where guests could get "lost" and miss important toasts, cake cuttings, etc. Excellent space for a great band. Beautiful courtyard for cocktail hour allowed guests to enjoy gorgeous spring weather before heading inside for the party. Grand staircase allowed for a dramatic entrance with my groom. Love that they let you work with your own caterer (we used Carole Parks, a fabulous choice) and provide your own alcohol (if you hire bartenders of course). really allowed me to make my reception EXACTLY what I wanted. I highly recommend hanging candles for an amazing ambience! Thanks to Monica for helping us coordinate, she was always available for a call or to meet at the facility. I went to a wedding at Summerour Studio last month, and it was a total blast. I'm sure the bride and groom have much better info than I do, but I can say if you're getting married in Atlanta, your guests will have a good time at Summerour (at least if you provide an open bar and a photo booth, as this excellent couple chose to do). The venue is spacious and beautiful, with a classic look and an open, comfortable feel. We drank cocktails and snatched hors d'oeuvres in a lovely, sunny courtyard, then moved indoors for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was conducted on one side of the event space, which eventually became the dance floor after the chairs were put away. Dinner was on the other side, where all the tables and chairs were set up behind a curtain that was removed after the bride and groom had their kiss. Our table was near the main bar, and that was an excellent tactical decision by the bride and groom, for which I applaud them. Everything about the wedding was very, very fun. We spent a good amount of time on the dance floor, which was big and conducive to Cha Cha Sliding. Obviously, your mileage may vary, as Summerour leaves a lot of discretion to the bride and groom. All I can tell you is that Q and Dao's wedding was awesome, and from a guest's perspective, Summerour was an ideal venue for them. read more

Do not under any circumstances use this venue. My son and his fiancé booked this venue for their wedding last June and had to postpone because nobody would fly in because of COVID. They rescheduled the venue for this July and because of uncertainty with covid in January they asked if they could cancel because nobody would guarantee they would attend. They asked for a refund and were denied even though nothing was purchased by Summerour for the event. They even tried to have them agree to giving half back for which they declined. My son lost thousands of dollars and I bet the venue has it rebooked for their date. If they do this to a young couple during COVID I cant imagine what they would do for anything else. I guarantee there are better places that would refund most if not all of your down payment with a timely cancellation. read more

Let me begin by saying that it was great working with Monica. She was timely, easy reach responsive, and an advocate for us throughout the process of our eventually canceled wedding. The same, however, cannot be said for management/ownership who was unwilling to refund us our money. Despite having a force majeure, clause we had to fight to get a 50% refund from them. There were no services rendered yet they still felt entitled to our money. The only other options presented to us were to re-schedule for Q1 2021 (only Fridays and Sundays available) when we reserved a Saturday 13 months in advance or to forfeit our deposit if we wanted to rebook for later in 2021, even one year from our August 2020 date. I even tried to reason with them explaining that as a frontline healthcare worker (ER doc) I was concerned about my high risk of exposure and subsequent exposure of our guests and vendors at the wedding. No luck. Summerour/Novare Events was happy to take our money, but absolutely unwilling to honor their own contract, which clearly states that we are entitled to a full refund if we are unable to hold our wedding for reasons outside of our control. Do yourself a favor- find a different venue that will respect you and your hard earned money if things don't go as planned (like a pandemic). read more

Repurposed about 10 years ago, this long-time former printing company building dates to the 1920s -- which means plenty of exposed brick and warm, worn wood. The draw is the massive, open main room -- you can almost picture the huge, clanking printing presses filling up the space. Overhead trusses support the high barrel ceiling, which means no columns or posts -- there would have been no way to put massive machinery in the room otherwise. Now, however, that open floor means great, unobstructed sightlines, along with plenty of room for tables and dancing -- maybe table dancing depending on the event. Compared to modern hotel salon room of similar size, there is no comparison. Much more human and intimate. Especially so with all the windows providing natural light -- better still if your event transitions from day to night. Novare Events has all the liquor licenses required to get your pour on, but of course a subset of those regs means that no BYOB is allowed. And that is sensible -- besides the bars were well-staffed, competent, and friendly. Only nit is a function of the building's age -- bathrooms kinda out-of-the way and although updated with nice materials and spotless, sorta cramped. Similarly, the entrance foyer is a little chopped up and dysfunctional. But as a trade off for having a great main space for your event, those issues melt away very quickly. read more

Monica and her trusted smile makes you feel comfortable planning one of the most important days of your life. The customer service is impeccable! They work directly with you to create your perfect event. Kenya worked our actual wedding and reception; she worked hard to make sure we had a memorable experience. She anticipated our every need in advance. Yes they are located near a doggie daycare, but it is hardly noticeable. We had cocktail hour in the courtyard and nobody complained and we didn't notice. Summerour is a hidden treasure. You should definitely consider it for you next event. read more

I looked into having a wedding at Summerour Studios after hearing rave reviews over the venue. While dealing with Novare events was a pleasure, the staff who work at/in the building of Summerour are terrible. The two times I attempted to visit the venue my mom and I were harrassed by the parking attendant and treated very rudely and then passed on to the onsite rep for the day who was less than thrilled to give us a tour. I returned with my fiance and encountered Beth Jones who apparently owns the building and works for Summerour and ASsociates architecture firm. She is a witch! Probably the most unpleasant person I've ever met. After these two interactions, we decided not to use this venue for our wedding. It is supose to be a special day for us and our family and I would hate if they had to encounter any of these people who work on site at this venue. read more

Summerour Studio was a dream! We loved it the minute we drove by it. The Tuscan appeal is phenomenal. One small detail we weren't excited about was the location of it. It is behind Atlantic Station and there is like some not very nice areas in it's surroundings, but it didn't take too much away from its beauty because it rained and most people just stayed inside. This is a great venue for those looking for something unique. It is a rustic, industrial, vintage warehouse type feel and gives a great atmosphere to any event. Monica was also a pleasure to work with and was flexible with everything we wanted to do. Our wedding was beautiful and we are super happy that we chose Summerour as our reception venue.
