Called them because I received a mailer, they were local and they had installed the existing unit…read morefor previous owners. Wanted to repair my A/C if possible and practical. Kirkwood's guy arrived on time, was polite and courteous, used footies when inside. He proceeded to inspect the unit from a distance and reported to me where the leak was and how it was rusted out and recommended a complete new unit. When asked about repair, He said he could inject with a StopLeak type product and then fill with 8 lbs. new Freon, would cost $1200.00 +\- and no guarantee. Complete new Unit $7000.00 +/-. Next day called Brockman Heating & Air and they inspected the unit by getting inside of the outside compressor, they found 2 pinholes where the tubes had rubbed together, they removed my existing 3 lbs. of freon, brazed the pinholes, pressure checked the system to be sure they got all the leaks and refilled using my 3 lbs. and added 5 new lbs. of freon. Everything is like new again for a Grand Total of $494.00. So everything that Kirkwood reported was dead wrong, they only wanted to sell a new unit. They did make sure to call the next day for there service call money. 2 days later I opened up inside unit to clean the A-Coils and found large pipe cutters from original installation by Kirkwood. Guess they have never cared.

They misdiagnosed a problem and ended up rerouting our water main when that was not the issue. When we called to let them know the problem still persisted, they just told us to wait and see if it would eventually clear up. Later we got them to come out again, and the estimator was exceptionally rude. He cut me off every time I tried to explain the problem. He told us we just needed a snake, even though I told him we've had that done many times and the problem must be bigger. I told him we needed to get the situation resolved, regardless if it was covered under warranty or not. He just said it would be a lot of work and wouldn't give us any options other than a basic snake. He said they would be in touch with us to set it up. No one called until much later when reception contacted us wondering what ended up happening. I guess the estimator never told them. We contacted Korrect plumbing instead and they have been great. They are professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They gave us our options and got to work as soon as they could. Once they got into the floor, we ended up discovering even bigger problems than we first thought. They were able to adapt and develop solutions. They never complained about anything being too much work!

Upset that no one is home now. Finally called me and I told them I will be back in 30 mins. They came inside and tried to tell me I needed all of these things. Told them I didn't need them and they said then we can't do the install. Ask the guy to leave and he did. The best part was he said it would take 6 hours to do the job and drain the old tank. When I got home from work, the AC unit was still not working. I contacted them and the owner was at my house within 20 minutes. The problem was diagnosed and fixed. Upon packing up, he went and got the check my wife had written earlier in the day and told us because of the error, he was not charging us anything. We tried to argue that his time was valuable but he was hearing none of it and wouldn't accept anything for fixing our problem. I won't use anyone else from this point on. Honesty and integrity hard to find these days and when you run across them, you keep it close by.

I would not hire Korrect for anything again…read more My wife passed away almost five years ago. She was only 26 years old. Recently, the air-conditioning system we had installed approximately five years ago stopped cooling. The system still blows air, but the air is no longer cold. My understanding is that the unit is covered by a ten-year warranty, so I contacted Korrect with a very straightforward question: "The AC we had installed 5 years ago is not cooling but still blowing air -- just not cold. It seems that it is still under warranty for another 5. Can you please advise?" I received no response. After repeatedly pressing them simply to answer me, I finally received a response -- but instead of addressing the warranty issue in any normal or professional way, they sent me an AUDIO RECORDING of my deceased wife from years ago. Apparently, before her death, she had been involved in a billing dispute with Korrect concerning work that she believed had not actually been performed. In the recording they sent me, she was explaining that she did not believe she should have to pay for a service until the service had actually been provided. I was not involved in that dispute. I do not know all of its details. My wife died before whatever disagreement existed between them was ever resolved. What I do know is that I contacted Korrect years later about an air-conditioning system that is apparently still under warranty. Their response, after initially ignoring me, was to send me a recording of my wife's voice from before she died and then tell me, in substance, that because of this old unresolved dispute with her, they would not honor the warranty. I cannot adequately convey how disturbing that was. Anyone who has unexpectedly lost a spouse at a very young age may understand what it is like to suddenly receive an audio recording of that person's voice years after their death. I did not contact Korrect asking them to dig through their files and send me recordings of my deceased wife. I contacted them because an air conditioner they installed was not working properly and appeared to still be under warranty. There were countless professional and humane ways they could have explained whatever position they believed they had concerning the account. Sending me her voice without warning was not one of them. Whatever billing disagreement Korrect may have had with my wife before she died, I find the idea that an unresolved dispute with a deceased customer somehow permits a company to disregard the warranty on equipment it installed deeply troubling. If they believe there is some legitimate contractual basis for refusing warranty service, they could have simply stated it and provided the relevant documentation. Instead, I had to chase them for an answer, only to have my deceased wife's voice unexpectedly sent back to me as part of their justification. Absolutely sickening. I own several properties and regularly have reason to hire HVAC contractors and other tradespeople. After this experience, Korrect will never receive another dollar of my business, and I certainly would not recommend them to anyone else. And yes, after all of this, the fact that the company is called "Korrect" when they cannot even spell "correct" correctly feels almost too appropriate.

My wife and I love this area, and we love the food. I know that tradesmen are often attuned to very good local eating establishments. After installing a new furnace and a/c we had to call barker on an ongoing basis because the…read morethermostat would not maintain the selected temperature it would vary by up to 6 degrees, every time they came out they collected a service fee and gave us excuses as to why we had to accept this. Also the whole house humidifier they had installed didn't add enough humidity to the air. Finally after a few years of this I contacted another HVAC person and they discovered that the humidifier was never installed correctly, it was set at such a high point that it would never turn on. Then had a different company do a thorough system check and they found multiple issues with our system that Barker had never found. And after the service technician from the new company perform a complete diagnostic I realized that Barker never sent a real technician to our house to check the system. It seems as though every one that came out had worked with someone who was knowledgeable about hvac but they didn't have the skills or training to actually service the units themselves that they sold us. After all this I realized that barker havc should not be in business. I put in one final call to ask when the warranty on our system expired but never got a return call. Final thoughts: I would avoid Barker heating and a/c at all costs and I also learned .from a neighbor that they had dropped Barker a long time ago. There are a few good HVAC companies out there but Barker is not one.
