Several minutes later, an explosion occurred which blew the glass window to fragments and flung parts of the metal frame eight feet into the living room. It was a mess. I called again and they came to investigate and clean up the debris. I don't know what caused the explosion and they didn't either. The reason I'm giving a one-star review was because of the promise they would research vendors for spare parts for repairs. They never made contact with me again.

Stuart again was prompt in getting back to me after he received the information he requested, but more importantly, he offered some suggestions to try to resolve the problem on my own. His sound advice indeed resolved the issue! Not many places would take the time to offer up some suggestions and would instead go right to scheduling a service call. This type of experience should tell you a lot about Mad Hatter Chimney Sweeps -- not only were they very responsive back -- but they also operate a very ethical business that is not out to, may I say, screw you and maximize a sale. Can't say enough good things about this outfit. They are highly recommended.

We had our home air ducts cleaned by Apex on 22 June. The two technicians did a good job on our…read morehome's upper level, but half way through the cleaning, the hard sales pitch started when they sat us down and discussed that our inside air was full of toxic particulates due to microbial findings in our ducts and their monitor reading. They had also performed a swab test. They offered three packages that they recommended to combat these issues. The first was a package for $3400 that included a UV light to fight off any growth. Next package was the UV light itself, $1799. My husband told them we weren't interested in anything other than the service we signed up for. Then we had to listen to all kinds of scare tactics about how bad our internal air is and the dangerous particles floating around outside and in, not to mention the dust coming from the great salt lake that we're breathing as well. My husband finally made it clear that we didn't want any extras so they proceeded in finishing the duct cleaning downstairs in our partially finished basement. We were happy with the work they performed upstairs so they billed us, we paid and they departed. We went downstairs and found that all the lights had been left on and our basement floor was covered in debris. We stepped on hard pieces of sheet metal shards which were getting stuck in our shoes and saw that our cold air return ducts had been cut in six places. This was never discussed with us and we were shocked to say the least. They cut 6 access holes in a twenty foot duct run. We didn't have a final walk through as required by their company policy which we were informed of later. We had to clean our basement right away before our dog or one of us stepped on the many shards of sheet metal pieces and fallen hardware. We called Apex to notify them of the condition our home was left in and the access holes. A customer service rep came out a few days later to survey the duct cuts and the mess and he agreed the cuts are sometimes needed but should be discussed with the homeowners. He also thought they were excessive. He offered to sweep our basement and re-tape the duct openings but we had already cleaned it so we wouldn't get hurt from the sharp sheetmetal pieces. We're so disappointed in the manner our home was left in and the number of access holes in our ducts. I can't recommend this service from Apex based on our experience and want to warn others to be watchful for these actions if you plan to use their service.

Then they pushed me into buying this 1200.00 uv light that is so called hospital grade that I found on Amazon's ( same model) for 500.00 now after paying them over 1000 they have sent me to collections after i said I won't pay them a penny more. Do not trust Apex Clean Air.
