Fraud, Liar, messed up our 1 small bedroom and left it incomplete after we paid him. He does not…read morehave working capital, kept asking for $50 on day one onwards when it was clearly agreed that he will paid in phases after completetion of select rooms. No prep-work, covering of floors, does not have tarp, ladders, drill. Biggest flag was he could not provide a single reference besides claims of repeat customers on NextDoor App. First day, he showed up 2-3 hours late, he came w/o any plastic or brown covering paper, i insisted for the same so he went to Home Depot, he calls from there, saying he left his wallet with his wife and asked for $50. On asking why he could not ask his wife to pay HD over the phone, he made some weird excuses about she being at work but same day afternoon and next all day she spent with him helping, which was weird to say the least. Day 2, he said he will place the order for matching crown moldings in Lake Elsinor 6 or 7 am and be at our place at 8am. He arrived at 10:30 or so and that he was stuck in traffic. No issues. Stops at home Depot and again asks for $50 which my wife Zelles to him, while even saying that he has $10-20k grand from the last job. Great. So how $50 is going to help !? While prepping up, he tried to use nearly an empty caulk tube, which semmed to have dried out and he tried to cut it open to use the caulk. I offered our own caulk tube but he said he had others in the truck and instead we later found out, he used mud to fill up some gaps in the base boards. Worst of his painting skill and lack of tools & sprayer, he sprayed our base boards and trims with a $75 paint sprayer and it sprayed all over the walls he had alreaady painted and the cabinets, etc., which he had not properly covered and worst part, it was all bubbly. Our very smooth trims and base boards are all ruined now. He had already put 2-3 coats on the walls. And it would now require yet another coat. And plus sanding and re-doing all the trims and base boards to remove the bubbles. And the edges of the contrast colors bled into each other at so many places. Shocked, we asked what happened, he said he possibly used some old semi-gloss white paint (which he said he had 5 gallons of and we need not buy) and that paint was stored in a warm storage and hence got messed up. But i could tell it was a completely Flat texture, compared to the trims on the original bathroom trims next to the bedroom. It was 2 days already and he had not completed 1 small 12 x 12 room. And my daughters room was not even half done, even though we had agreed to do one room first and see his work. It was our bad, that I was in meetings and my wife let him start that room. At the end of it, we still felt for them and paid him for one room, thinking he will come next day and fix it. That night, we realized that he had used our new 5 gallon Ceiling flat paint to spray our boards and trims. It was supposed to be sealed. Wtf !? We had paid for it and he had kept it in the truck and he went out and filled the sprayer with it and we did not know. He would not.allow us to enter the room and said when he finishes, he would show it to us. That night, i sent him a simple message, that he would need to fix the issue and complete this one room first with the crown molding he was supposed to install as well, which he had already ordered on day 2 morning. Next day, he read the message and replied that he is on his way to pick up the crown molding. And wife replied with a simple Ok. And then a string of nasty messages from him followed out of no where, that we stopped reading after a couple and blocked him. At one point, he said to keep his tools, the kid sprayer, etc., but we said we do NOT want it and come and collect it and which he did. Pls look at the mess he left us with. We tried to fix the walls ourselves, removing the excess white spray on our new gray walls and did not take pics till a day after, whe we had already patched the walls. And yeah, on one of the walls, he had painted over a green tape, which after removing left a mess which we had to fill/ patch like 3-4 times to lose the tape mark. Twice or thrice we had asked him to get his professional sprayer like Titan, and he said he had 3-4 of them, even better than Titan, each costing $4000, but he never brought them. That was another indicator that we should habe let him go at that point. Unfortunately this incident led to many arguments between me and wifey as she was keen to hire him over others for his paint and wood work skills he said he had as well. Many lessons learnt. - Always ask for references and call them. And preferrably a video of them doing the job over pictures from the internet. - Always make sure they bring the tools, sprayers, pro painters use, ladders, tarps, plastic, covering paper, etc. - Make sure they have working capital. - If they are cheap, they are for a reason.

He lied about having a contractor's license. I paid Home Depot with my credit card over the phone. He originally quoted me 300.00 for materials, but when I saw the receipt, it was for $560.00. With my credit card he purchased a paint sprayer for himself, pringles potato chips, Mountain Dew, sodas, Lays Potato chips, and Body Armor Strawberry Banana. He told me that the job would take two days. While working on the first day, he informed me that his wife was in his truck outside. It was so weird. Completely creepy. After three days of arriving late, he finally told me he was done. However, the job took him five days days. I wrote him a check for the work. Within hours of him leaving, two of the cabinet drawers fell off. There were holes in my cabinets that he did not fill. Screws were missing. Many of the doors were hitting each other when closed. A handle fell off. He got paint overspray on the side of my dishwasher. Paint splashes on the driveway. I messaged him to let him know that if he did not return to fix all of the mistakes that same day, then I would stop payment on the completion check. He did was a no show. He left my cabinets in terrible shape. Completely unprofessional.
