We set up a new time and they again didn't call but I called them a minute after no one answers called 3 minutes after and left a message. Never heard back. Called them a day later (today) and again they said they called at the scheduled time and left a message. They did not! No apology or anything. I've checked missed calls and voicemail and there is no record. Checked the number and it's correct. 3 of my 4 daughters had their wisdom teeth done here so I was confident that this was a great choice. But after dealing with the blame game on 2 different occasions we will go somewhere else. Very disappointed and now I've wasted a month while my daughter suffers with mouth pain.

I was very impressed by how pleasant the medical/dental staff was. Dr. Pennau was very professional, knowledgeable, and I can honestly say it was the easiest oral procedure I've had. He had my extractions out in no time, and completely pain free. He definitely knows what he's doing. He's easy on the eyes too! Thank you to Ashley, the amazing Dental Assistant who helped me, and Dr. Pennau for making this possible! These guys are true professionals and I highly recommend this business to everyone who needs dental surgery.

I have to give this practice 5 stars. I am not too sure what one could want more from an oral…read moresurgeon. I got surgery for 3 wisdom teeth and was very pleased not only by the staff's professionalism but the un-matched customer service I received. My surgery was in the morning and by end of business day Dr. Kunkel himself called my mobile to check up on me. Not his nurse, not his receptionist. He called personally, I thought that was a nice touch. They sent me home with a tiny ice pack (nor super practical but very appreciated nonetheless), clear concise instructions on after care and the tools I needed to take care of my post op. The pain meds I received were really not strong enough to eliminate my pain, nor did I have enough. But since I had an adverse reaction to the opioids it really did not matter much to me...I actually stop taking them quite early in the healing process. I think this may be a negative for some, if they think they'll get massive amount of maximum strength opioids. But I actually think this is a positive, as it tells me they are careful with dosage and amounts of opioids prescribed here. I think many docs in the past have been too loose with opioids prescriptions which in turn contributed greatly to the current epidemic. Three days after surgery I received a get well card in the mail signed by the entire team. I have to say that was so nice. I have unfortunately been seeing a lot of dental practitioners in the past 2 years and this was quite a novelty. Again, nice touch. A week post surgery I went in for my checkup. After 15 minutes one of the nurses came out to let us know that the current surgery had incurred in some complications so Dr. Kunkel was now running a full 30 minutes behind schedule. She apologized and left. The receptionist asked some patients if they preferred to reschedule all together, leave and come back in about 30 minutes or so or if they preferred to wait. Most preferred to wait since they did not have anywhere close by to go. I did not have the option either. I just settled in for the wait. Less than 5 minutes later she came out and gave each of us a Starbucks gift card. Her opening was: I understand that your time is just as precious as our time, and although surgeries are unpredictable and the wait could not be avoided, we'd like to give you this little token of our appreciation for your wait. I mean, when does that EVER happen? Anyways, like I said, top notch customer service. This place is what oral surgery clinicians should use as their guidelines for a successful practice.

Using X-rays taken by the dental assistants, Dr. Kunkel then used a robot to put in my implants....which I had never seen before. And I did not feel a thing. After a consultation with another oral surgery practice that couldn't fit him in for weeks, he called Colorado Springs Oral Surgery and since they had a cancellation, they got him in that afternoon, the surgery was quick and brought relief the same day! On the fourth day one side of her face was extremely swollen and we were concerned about infection. We called the office and were told it's impossible for her to have an infection before the 10th day after surgery which made no sense to me. We offered to send photos so they could see and were told there's no need bc there shouldn't be anything wrong. We were told the best they could do was to prescribe her a stronger pain killer and see her the following week. The next night we ended up in the ER. The doctors confirmed she had a very bad infection and should have been seen immediately when we called. They were extremely surprised a medical office would say infections can't occur before the 10th day as that completely false. They were also surprised that antibiotics weren't prescribed prior to surgery, which they said was fairly standard. We followed up with another oral surgeon at different practice the next week and was told our daughter also had a hematoma and might require additional surgery to relieve it. He was also surprised about the failure to provide antibiotics prior to surgery and said that it us fairly standard in oral surgery to do that. Luckily our daughter didn't need another surgery. I was impressed by the second dentist office who called three different days to check on our daughter. Colorado Springs Oral and Facial Surgery never called back to find out how our daughter was doing after our initial call of concern.

I went in for an extraction and an implant. The extraction went well, as did the bone graft. I was originally given a 100% complete price, which I paid. I will pay for the procedure AFTER insurance pays for it so that I keep the difference, not the provider. I hate being charged more than I'll need to pay after insurance, have the provider keep the extra (including the interest on it) and then refund me when the provider gets around to it. I will not be going to places that make you pay before insurance pays. It's not pro customer, only pro business. It selfishly puts the onus on the customer.
