When aides were sent, some were clearly untrained and unable to safely perform basic tasks, including transfers. Most alarming, an aide sent by this agency allowed my uncle to fall twice within a two-hour period. Even worse, the agency did not notify me about the second fall or that EMS was called. I only discovered this by reviewing footage from my in-home security cameras. This kind of lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable in home health care. We have been calling the office number all day, leaving messages on the supervisor's voicemail, but there is no outgoing message indicating when or if someone will be able to respond. This may not seem like such a big deal, but if you have ever been in a situation of caring for an elderly and/or disabled family member who needs around-the-clock assistance, I think you can see where a home care agency really needs to be available to address concerns around that clock, or at the very least can figure out how to change their friggin' voicemail message to reassure people who rely and depend on them that their concerns will be addressed promptly.
