Came for Saturday night and they "forgot" our reservation when they told us to wait at the bar. 3rd the food - brunch - THE FOOD!!! Something for everyone! Super fresh! What a delight! Took my family there for a nice meal and got way more than expected. Possibly the best view anywhere in PA. We were blown away. The back wall is all window and you feel on top of the world. Also really satisfied by our meal...delicious! Seafood was fresh...really well prepared. I had a squash pasta dish with lobster that was killer. Kids were really happy and engaged the whole time...even played a game of chess in the upstairs section while my wife and I had an extra glass of wine. Come for the view. Not for the food. Extremely limited menu. I had the "pork Capricciosa" (panko and parmesan crusted) $22. That isn't what they served. Just a deep fried battered pork chop. No panko, no parmesan. They charge $5 extra for a side (a la carte).That may work at Capital Grille. For a place like this - outrageous. I got the "parmesan fries" which had so little parmesan, you would have thought they were plain fries. read more

I have never written a bad review, but I need to save you from this terrible food. We ordered five different dishes and all of them were terrible. No one finished their food. We all had to go back to our room afterwords and eat some power bars. The wait staff knew nothing. They were very friendly, but completely oblivious. There was no question simple enough to elicit an answer. Maybe they are all shell-shocked from the mountain of criticism they must suffer over the food. Everything was old, dried-out, overcooked, and over-seasoned. The worst meal we have had in five or ten years. The view is incredible. Go look out over the mountain and then hurry on to some place that serves food you can eat without retching. read more

Lovely place! We went here for dinner and view because we wanted to see if it was more than just a pretty view. We liked it so much that we came back the next day for brunch. Our server Ruben went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable. He was happy to answer questions about the menu, and even gave us some suggestions on what best to order. ( The tempura shrimp was so good even my picky 13 year old ate it. Bless her; she ate mine too!). All the food was tasty, with the desserts being the least of the lot, as they were good but obviously brought in, and the appetizers the best: especially those shrimp! The view, which we thought would be the highlight of the meal was gorgeous, and still ranked third behind the food and service. We went back the next day for the brunch ( which Ruben discribed to us). The brunch was wonderful too, and they have a mimosa and bloody Mary bar that's worth going for all by itself. Very enjoyable time at Kartrite's tonight. Tempura Shrimp was perfectly cooked and huge, and the ribs were excellent. Our server, Kimber, was extremely attentive and welcoming. The location is horrible. My only problem is that they should have more signs. We had 3 navigation systems up and they stopped working. The one sign on the road for them should have a spot light on it. They should be considerate to patrons who are trying to find the place especially at nighttime. In addition, I ordered the food, which was shrimp, sausage and grits. The tomatoes still had the supermarket sticker on it. I saw the tomatoes cut but one piece still had the supermarket sticker on it. I didn't bother to complain because it was my husband's birthday and I didn't want to squabble. I always read reviews before I go anywhere. I noticed the reviews for this place weren't that great, but decided to try it anyway since camelback pushes this restaurant as being one you should def try out. Views are the best without question, but that's the only positive. Our server spilled an entire glass of red wine all over my son, but my husband and I are very understanding and know accidents happen. However the table had to have almost everything removed and things weren't replaced promptly, like my sons drink. Next my shellfish was very undercooked. The server would go missing for 20 mins at a time, so getting anything we needed was impossible. After my food was finally cooked through, it was terrible. It was over cooked and arrived after my family was already finished eating. I'm shocked that this restaurant is regarded as camelbacks flagship restaurant. This restaurant poses as fine dining, but instead has terrible food and horrible service. Do yourself a favor if your staying at camelback and eat at Berrelli's, food and service are so much better. What a waste of a beautiful location. read more

We love the newly renovated Kartrite's. Wonderful addition to the camelback community. We just enjoyed a delicious brunch with a beautiful view of the Pocono Mountains. The view is insane!!! The food ... not so much. The menu is sooo limited. This place could be amazing but the menu has to change. The service was at a snail's pace and the waitress (who was very nice) had no clue of anything on the menu. The seafood soup just plain and the ramen noodle had no flavor. There is not much to choose from for your main course. There is one steak on the menu and it's a ribeye. Now I like ribeye steak but anyone who doesn't like a marble or fatty steak is out of luck. Need to put a New York strip or a filet on menu for people who don't like a lot of fat. I had the lamb sandwich which was actually very good but not that much meat. My wife had the lobster roll which tasted like a gigantic piece of black licorice. It was awful. Need to lay off the tarragon. If you like celery and black licorice this is the sandwich for you. There was also no specials which was odd. The view is amazing and bread, potato chips, and pickled vegetables that come with sandwich were good. Fix up menu and I will go back, if not I will just go to buffet in Aquatopia which was 100x better. read more

I had optimistic exceptions because this place does have a nice view and the menu we were given for our party looked enticing. I was initially really excited, but was hugely disappointed. We came in as guests of a rehearsal dinner. The restaurant wasn't packed by any means, but they did have patrons and the service was extremely slow. We were tired of waiting on a drink so we went to the bar ourselves and found that their liquor selection to be scarce (and we weren't trying to be picky). Our salads had minimal dressing if any at that. We had to ask for water and were only given a cup when the rest of our party was given pitchers (mind you we arrived with empty glasses on the table). I ordered the chicken entree which came with only 2 chicken wings. It was pathetic! My husband's appetizer (wings) was more filling than my entree. I hope the bride and groom didn't pay a pretty penny for this place. I would have lost my sh*t if I had to pay for it. Sadly disappointed. read more
