    My wife and I just moved to Star from Orange County, CA. We are in a new development, with…read moreconstruction going on around us, and noticed a number of spiders in and around our home. We had maintenance pest control at our home in CA, and we knew that we wanted it for our home in Star. I solicited a few estimates from local companies. Prices for the service were about the same, though one company recommended an initial treatment, a follow-up treatment 30 days later, and every two months from then on, for a total of 7 treatment in the first year, for a total annual cost of $880. They claimed that, since we lived close to the Boise River, we would really need extra protection from bugs and critters. In contrast, Phil from Custom Care recommended quarterly service, stating the they could always go to every other month if needed. I liked this approach better. I didn't feel like they were going for my pocketbook. Total annual cost the first year: $520. Aaron, the technician, contacted me right away and set up and appointment for the following week. He showed up as scheduled, explained his process, and went right to work. This included interior and exterior treatment, and he even set some mousetraps in the garage, saying that with the construction going on around us, this would be extra protection. I appreciated that. I look forward to having Custom Care Pest Services take care of our home.

    I fulfilled a one-year bi-monthly service agreement with this company and contacted them to cancel…read moreafter completing the contract term. I initially emailed to cancel service, and in their response I was told I would either be charged a $75 fee for removal of bait boxes or could request an additional service visit. During a follow-up call, the same options were repeated, along with a statement that a fee would apply no matter what. I called a few of the pest control company around, none mentioned they will collect a fee to collect the bait box. Some even will leave the bait box to customer. In the contract , it states: "If you cancel service prior to a scheduled quarterly appointment, there may be a $75 fee applied for removal of the bait boxes." This wording is unclear and does not apply to my situation. I cancelled about one week after my final service visit, at the end of my contract term, and there was no upcoming scheduled appointment at the time of cancellation. Based on the wording, I reasonably understood the fee to apply only if cancelling before a scheduled service visit. I did not cancel before a scheduled appointment, but after completing my final service. The agreement does not clearly explain that a fee would still apply in this situation. After raising this concern, the company continued to insist the fee was valid and sent me an invoice. He said they will potentially refer to collections if unpaid. Based on this, I'd suggest potential customers to rethink their decision of having a contractual agreement with this company.
