We started with the group cause different loops some intersect but most start base loop. Some parts single track but most part all pretty wide. Town survey and homeowner survey say same thing she owns the land on both sides. Law and order is not about feelings or belief's. Also this park has other access on park property but they fenced it off. Why try to illegally take someone's land that they paid for when you have another access point? Another big question is, Why didn't the town buy that piece of the property when it went up for sale instead of assuming the new owner would want the whole town leaving garbage on their land?

The foothills rising along the far side of the creek were beautiful, and there were many young families enjoying the beautiful weather and kids splashing in the creek. We saw several people fly fishing, people picnicking at several tables, and a bunch of happy dogs. Map signs of the park indicated that there are more difficult hiking trails available. After our visit we had a terrific lunch at the lovely Blackbird Cafe in Kittredge, about a mile to the west.

This park claims that it is accessible. Reality is...I'm not an able bodied person. I use a walker/rollator to help me get around. Without it, I might as well be in a wheelchair. With it I can navigate the local stores and activities. This park has some accessible parking spots. One in each lot. There is a break in the fence wide enough for a wheelchair to make it through. But in reality no wheelchair will be able to access the pit toilets available for use here. You have to enter through a half door that can swing back and forth and then make a sharp turn to access the toilet. No regular wheelchair could make that turn. You'd have to have one of those electric scooters that can turn on a dime. But to even get to the bathrooms you have to make it out of the loose dirt and rocky parking lot. Then maneuver the uneven dirt/grass ground to the bathrooms. My rollator walker didn't stand a chance to even make it to the bathrooms let alone anywhere else in the park I couldn't access with our car. My husband looked up this place after our daughter came here on a school outing and loved it. He saw that it is listed as accessible, but the truth is, it is not. I wanted to make sure anyone who is disabled or injured could read my review and make a decision based on it. I gave the park a rating of two because my husband and daughter still enjoyed themselves. My husband isn't super able bodied (he uses a cane), so by using his walking/hiking poles he could get around nicely.

Even though many on AllTrails said the trail was fine within the past few days, it was clearly iced over today. No worries, as we had our spikes with us. Well, one worry, as one of my wife's spikes decided to sabotage our day and start to tear. After fighting with it for 30 mins or so, we abandoned our attempts to continue on the trail. Other than today, the Evergreen Mountain Trail is one of our favorites in Colorado. The views from the top are amazing. I can't recommend it enough; however, if you're going this time of year, take your spikes...you'll need them.

We exited the forest at the wrong trailhead. Getting back to the correct trailhead parking lot was a separate adventure. Beautiful trail. Moose and deer. Falls...sometimes.
