There are doctors there pushing nerve blocks because they know it assures they get paid twice. For many, many years I have been getting once a year injections and they work fine. The last time I got a "procedure", noone told me they scheduled a nerve block. In the follow up with the young doctor that did it, I argued with him over that is not the appropriate procedure. He Pushed me to schedule a follow-up nerve block. I canceled and asked to have a regular appointment because I wanted a second opinion. They MADE me come back to the Lawrenceville location alto although Snellville location is 3 miles from my home and not a bad wait. I had to wait about an hour and a half and at first they were going to schedule me with the doctor who did it when I specifically said I wanted a second opinion. There are always new doctors coming and going. There are doctors and PAs, mostly at the Snellville location, I like, but I think some of the young guys are just trying to push procedures that make them more money! On top of everything I have a bladder Stimulator back there with lots of wires where I don't want carterizing going on near my wires, but they don't care about any of that! Just $$$ read more

I had an issue with my pain pump. I request to talk to the provider who handles my pain pump and was told it will b an hour. I checked back in 1.5 hours and was told it will be another 5 patients before I was seen.i can not help that this provider is always 1.5 hours late every time he is in the Lawrenceville office. this place sucks. when you finally talk with the doctor it's very nonchalant. i did not feel like they took care of my needs or gave options. A lot of attitude for them to be dealing with people varieties of different pain. i would not recommend them and would not allow them near my body with needles of any kind. do better. read more

I do not blame Summit Spine for Cigna denying my procedure. However, it is extremely frustrating that they knew the procedure was denied on 3/5 and called me on 3/11 to confirm my appointment without telling me the procedure would not be performed. I had a friend rearrange her day in order to be my driver since I have sedation. So I inconvenienced her to take me to an appointment when she didn't need to be there. Please, please, please be considerate of your patient's time and the time of the drivers by letting them know their procedures are not approved. In addition, I would have had 10 days to work with the insurance company and could have gotten the approval. I had an extremely frustrating experience! read more

Disclaimer: this review is based on my opinion related to the care that my loved one has received from this practice for the last 2 yrs 2 long! I would not recommend this practice to anyone, let alone an individual who is suffering from significant, life-threatening health issues that cause severe pain. This practice is no different than lawyers who ambulance chase. There is very little time spent w/ the patient & they do not read medical records, or imaging, even if they order it themselves! The good, ethical providers who understand diseases or illnesses leave the practice. There is no continuity of care, b/c you're made to see someone new each appt, having to explain your history, & how you feel, again each month. This is exhausting! The ones who remain are the ones who are willing to do what the owners of the practice require, which is schedule you for repeated procedures, so that they can make large sums of money & live lavish lifestyle's at your expense. They don't care if you're SUFFERING! &, It is heartbreaking to see, elderly patients on limited incomes, sit at the practice, waiting for rides while the staff, not all staff, turns a blind eye! I see predominantly black patients being forced to get procedures that don't help & getting small doses of pain relief. The goal is to keep getting the roughly $17-$18,000 insurance pays out per injection to make them rich. Please note that a patient will get stuck at least twice or four times per injection appointment. That means they make anywhere from $34k to $68k per patient, per procedure! They have so many doctors that they are making a killing financially. Just like a large number of the patients are from similar backgrounds, so are the owners. I am really disappointed in the doctor, who founded the practice because he used to be a caring physician, according to reviews & a friend, who saw him when he used to work at DeKalb medical! It is my opinion that this is by design & many providers engage in implicit bias. There are plenty of articles that speak to how implicit bias towards black patients leads to a lesser quality of healthcare. Then they hire front office, staff & "surgical staff" that mimic the majority of the patient population to use as bait to garner trust in that community. The staff members look like they are anywhere between the ages of 18 through 24 max! This is all by design again, & patients are being rotated out of the "procedure room" similar to an assembly line. This is done at every location, several days per week. In many cases, Medical care has now become a business instead of a practice to heal. One day God is going to punish each of the "medical providers" who participate in what are in my opinion, medical scams! Folks, get your family members to someone who does not have "interventional" on their business profile. That means they want to do procedures on you, whether they help you or not to cash in on insurance claims. Please be aware that repeated steroid injections break down your cartilage and that is one of the reasons arthritis gets worse. Do your research and read the medical, credible medical journal articles, or articles that speak to this fact! During my family members appointment last week, another patient was sitting in the waiting room, talking to a new patient and told them "do not let them give you those injections. They do not help! Please don't let them give you those injections." PLEASE be advised that if a doctor engages in treatment towards you, that is not ethical, you can report them to the medical board. The more people that report, instead of just leaving, or excepting it, the more the board will do to punish these "medical providers." yet we wonder why this country is dealing with so many viruses that can't be controlled by "medical providers", natural, disasters, & at risk of other dangers! It is because humans, too many are greedy, hateful, evil & lack empathy. These doctors also have no idea what it feels like to have these illnesses and diseases. No medical research can tell study can tell them how every patient feels because research studies are based on a small sample, not every person who has an illness or disease. Furthermore, one day, each of those participating will also experience, a life-threatening disease, or one of their love ones will, and the same treatment that they have willingly participated in towards marginalized populations will be the same treatment that they receive as well. They never stop to realize that some of the people who come to see them who are suffering, suffering at one time, if not, in the present, also work in "prestigious fields." This type of practice should be criminal. My grandfather said, "they will be shut down and will see it on the news just like the other ones!" Do not give them another body to experiment with, it's all experimentation. They do not care if they are hurting you as long as they are lining their own pockets! read more

WORST HORRIBLE TREATMENT EVER! I only wish I could leave less than one star! I have had 2 major back surgeries so I have a bit of experience with pain and its management (20 years). But I have never seen such LACK of COMPASSION anywhere! The PA forgot to get me to leave a urine specimen, called me at home and tried to bully me into driving back (knowing I had just taken Morphine to lie down and was in extreme pain! I offered to come back the next day. They weren't even prescribing anything for me for a couple of more weeks!!! To cover his own error, he DISCHARGED ME!! (After being verbally abusive, he labeled me "aggressive" in my chart! So, of coarse, when I attempted to go over his head, EVERYONE I tried to speak to from that point on COULDN'T CARE LESS about my pain, predicament about needing refills, and mistreatment! And not just the Lawrenceville location, but the ENTIRE DISTRICT!!!! I would strongly advise staying far away from this entire corporation!!! All about money and NOT PEOPLE! read more

After having a procedure on 11/29 I told the nurse that I needed a refill of one of my daily scripts that they missed from my office visit on the 21st of November, both before the procedure and after and Elizabeth told me it was called into the pharmacy. It was not. The next day when the office followed up with me to see how I was doing I informed them it had not been called in. She proceeded to gloss over what I was saying so I abruptly ended the phone call as she truly did not care nor was she listening to her patient. This is a daily script that would help with the pain that the procedure was just performed on me would help. This is my biggest concern with this practice and the only thing I have ever had issues with the practice. The Doctors and the PA's are so caring and I trust them 100% with my spinal column but they struggle with the phone center and supporting staff. I don't think that this is a medicine that I should stop and I thought I did my due diligence by asking over three times to have it refilled with no response. I would also state this is the same script the previously messed up last month. If you choose to attend this practice, please know to be very active in your own care and stay vigilant in you scripts and pay attention. I am not sure what else I should have done differently in this situation but will find out on the 5th at my follow up. I assume they know more than me and it will be okay to stop this medication "cold turkey" as they say! read more
