Getting wild at the rumpus room!…read more It was our first time visiting the Rumpus Room and we were so excited to check it out. If you're looking for a fun, clean place to take the kiddos on those cold or rainy days, this is the spot! It's so quaint and such a fantastic idea. There are a few different play areas like a Veterinarian Clinic, construction zone, and cafe for the kiddos to engage in some imaginary play. Additionally, they have a sectioned off area specifically for babies and infants. The Rumpus Room is not only locally owned, but the owner, Haley, is female and a veteran....how freaking bad ass!! You can tell that she and her hubby have out so much heart into this cute place. You can also see all of the potential and vision they are working hard to bring out growing community. You can chose to play for an hour or better yet, a membership to have unlimited play time! At this time, they are requesting you reserve a play time through their website so they can accommodate safe play for all. We will for sure be back to play and look forward to seeing this hidden gem continue to shine bright!

It's very welcoming and relaxing for mamas or whomever is watching the littles. There are lots of soft toys to keep kids occupied. I'm looking forward to attending an event in the future!

Loved it! Jaren in the kangaroo pen and Chris H who was the cave guide were absolutely amazing. But…read morereally all the staff was all courteous and friendly. You can pet kangaroos, emus and tortoises, as well as tour a neat little cave onsite.

Whenever we travel, I try see what the nearest animal encounters are…read more We came from San Diego, Ca to stay in Nashville for a few days. And the only reason we rented a vehicle for that time is because hubby wanted to visit Buc-ees down the road. Seeing that Kentucky Down Under was down the road- we wanted to take advantage of our day in Kentucky. Park behind Farmwald's Bakery and you see the parking lot. We arrived before opening time- so, we hung out and watched the camel roaming about. I've had the opportunity to ride a camel in Mexico and we have a camel dairy on the outskirts of San Diego (where they sell soaps and lotions). There was only one camel and it was huge and curious! As it got closer to opening time- the parking lot started to get packed w/ kids on their field trip. You can see the golf carts lined up behind the gift shop. Restrooms are located down the hall from the cashiers counter. And from previous reviews, I wasn't sure if the steep hill leading up to the enclosures was paved, dirt or gravel. And with my Achilles tendinitis, I didn't wanna figure it out. Lol. It was easy to snag a golf carts- worth every dime. And cruise up the hill. The road leading up is paved. And once you reach the top- there are tons of porta potties and lunch tables to the right. The map provided will lead you to the direction of your interest. We beat the group of kids and were able to see the Grey wolves and dingoes- before all the mayhem of excitement from the kids ensued. The bird garden was great. And you get to see a peacock roaming freely. I read a review to get there as early as possible- that way the kangaroos are somewhat active. I never thought in my life I'd have the opportunity to feed many kangaroos! There were so many! The Petting Zoo was fun. Seeing the baby goats softly butt heads with another... and then the bigger ones. As the morning continued on- more groups of kids on their field trips came. Keep in mind- when you pay to feed a certain animal- only feed them their food. And please- don't just toss your empty paper cups on the enclosure grounds. There are trash cans located outside to dispose of them. We didn't see any capybaras and no albino kangaroo. Wish we had more time to hang around and see some of the demonstrations and go down Onyx Cave. Definitely wear some comfortable walking shoes because if you step off the paved path in the kangaroo enclosure- tons of poo piles and uneven surfaces.
