Two hour transaction time from deplaning to getting to the house in SCW. 40 minute wait for the van and then had to pick up and drop off EVERY OTHER PASSENGER. They don't give you any information on when they will drop you off. This has happened several times. Will not use them again. read more

I was told I was squeezed in to be picked up 4 hours before my flight. I asked for a voucher because 4 hours is way to early, and I was going to spend more time with my family. Shannon was short, rude said there is no refund and hung up on me. I called back and asked Shannon why she hung up on me and she said because I was not listening. She was not listening I asked for a voucher for a different trip in the future, and she treated me as if I was bothering her. I asked for a supervisor, she said we don't have one. I then reminded her I would not be using them and to cancel my pickup. Of course she did not and a very nice employee named Jim showed up to pick me up. He listened, was very professional and I apologized that Shannon did not do her job and sent him wasting his time. I, and my family have been using them for years, but their service has gotten worse and Shannon's unprofessional attitude is an example of why we will longer utilize their business. Uber was cheaper, always on time and I was picked up at a reasonable time, driven alone and had no issues during the holiday rush. Look elsewhere, Uber, Lyft and other van shuttles. read more

My family and I have used these guys for years to get from the airport to our destination. Recently, it was $102 to go from the airport to Sun City for 3 people round trip. Not bad. The drivers are always friendly and on time. They give you a voucher for your return trip and call you the day before you leave to tell you what time they will pick you up. Sweet deal! read more

I've used Sun City Express 2 times so far, and I can honestly say I love this company! Always on time--except when you come back you have to call them from the airport, and they pick you up as quickly as they can IF they aren't already there. Last trip when I came in from Buenos Aires they knew I would be arriving at a certain time and, even tho they had 2 other people in the van already, the driver waited for me outside the airport, so all I had to do is...well, walk outside the walls of the airport. EZ! And when they know to pick you up at 6:30 am they arrive at my house exactly at 6:30 am. So far they haven't even been a minute late. They have always helped me with my bags and even offered a hand to help me into the van when I needed it...and sometimes I do cause it's so early or I'm so tired I'm liable to trip myself getting into the van. Their prices are the lower than Super Shuttle I know. There are other shuttle services in the area, but none compare to the overall service and price offered by this company I think. They seem to have been here a good amount of time, since when I first called and gave my address the Dispatcher automatically knew what community I lived in (much to my surprise). I do alot of international travels, so when I return and am pretty beat from 20 hours of flights it's always good to know the nice people at Sun City Express will be waiting to take me home. I have taken the Sun City Express shuttle dozens of times. They recently had an ownership change and have doubled their rates. This offends me. Uber car is now cheaper (especially when you have two or more). No more Sun City Express shuttle for me unless I am desperate. read more

Sun City Express is certainly the West Valley's #1 shuttle service. They have taken excellent care of my family and friends, especially my young sister and niece. Have used this service to and from the airport for the last three years. Drivers have always been excellent but the service has deteriorated the last two years. I'm 45 minutes from the airport but the last several pick ups from the airport took 2+ hours to get home. We do take the "shared ride" option but I don't need a two hour tour of the greater Phoenix area before I get home at $70 for two plus tip. I commented to the company about it but was told to spend MORE money with them to get home sooner. I think not. Looks like I will be taking my hard earned money elsewhere in the future. I've used Sun City Express for the last 14+ years when we came to visit my aunt in Sun City West. I think that number alone speaks for itself - the consistent positive service they've provided their guests over the years. I don't even know how long they've been open before we started using their services! It was so easy to call and book my ride. I called 2 days before my pick-up and, as promised, they called the day before to update my pick-up time. They always want to be sure you're at the airport 2 hours prior to your flight. My ONLY complaint comes from my ride yesterday, and really it's a petty complaint... My driver was good - real nice guy who took care to my bags as he loaded and unloaded. OK... here's my complaint... He drove 5-10 miles below the speed limit. Yes, I still got to the airport in time for my flight. He was a fairly safe driver, especially going slower on the freeway. He seemed a little distracted as he tried pulling up directions, but albeit he got me there safe and on time... about 1.5 hours ahead of my flight. read more

We have used Sun City Express for a number of years...the pick-ups at home, (going TO the airport)has always been timely. Drivers courteous. However, the waits AT the airport for rides back home are not as timely..sometimes waitng for over 1/2 hour. Not a big deal, but would prefer more timely pickup at Sky Harbor. Lastly, your reservations agents should be informed about your award points program so they can communicate intelligently to your clients. They either say to call back the next day when management is there, or the muddle through with almost no knowledge (in other words, BS). This was the worst ground transportation experience I have every had. DO NOT USE! I was picked up at the airport in a fairly timely manner (waited 15 minutes), but then I sat in the shuttle for close to an hour while the driver tried to locate his second passenger. We circled the entire terminal four times, each time trying a different pick up spot. As a result, I wasted my precious time sitting in a shuttle waiting, waiting and circling the terminals. When we did located two more passengers (not one as I was told), one of those passengers was complaining about the service as well. Totally bad experience, and will never use again! read more

Have used Sun City Express numerous times both to pick up at airport and to pick up at residence for trip to airport. Had excellent experiences except for the last one (yesterday). Driver arrived nearly 45 minutes after the stated (and written) time given. When asked, driver said you would have been notified - DID NOT HAPPEN! My guests were very upset to be picked up late because the traffic could have been really bad to airport and connection could have been missed. Thankfully, it worked out OK. Also, driver did not know how to fold middle seat down to allow entrance to rear seat - my guests had to crawl between the two middle seats in order to enter the rear seating area - not good at all!!!!! I waited over 35 minutes for them to pick me up at the airport, then we had to pick someone else up, then take them all home even after asking if I could be dropped off first as I was on a timeline for work, the driver was rude, maybe because they do a lot of retired folks that don't have anywhere better to be but taking 2 hours to get home is in acceptable, oh and the seat belts were broke too.... read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We had a private sedan with a very unsafe driver picking us up at the Phoenix airport. Twice he took his hands off the steering wheel and put them in the air while on the freeway, The private sedan had a broken arm rest with a nail sticking out of it. In addition, the driver drove 15 over the speed limit in the neighborhood. He kept joking that he was lost. Jokes were awful. I called to report this and the kind dispatcher promised me a discount(they wouldn't credit me the entire amount---I was afraid for my safety....but that didn't' matter to them). When I checked my visa, only partial credit was there. I called three times to rectify this. Finally, I reached Tony who said the person who promised me the credit was incorrect and he refused to give me the remainder of the credit. DO NOT USE THEM! Poor, poor customer service. Apparently they don't care about the safety of the passengers. There are other very professional shuttle/or private transportation services in the area. This company is terrible. read more

I had one of my new employees reserve a shuttle with this company this week to get to a team building event we had at Lake Pleasant. I was going to have all of our employees flying in use them but after what this employee experienced, I will be sure to NEVER use this company again-- nor will our nationwide company use them. It seems that a change of management didn't change much because my experience has indicated they operate under extremely corrupt business practices (as well as dishonest, unprofessional, and incompetent employees-- namely, Lupita at reservations-- she was not kind and in fact very condescending). Here is what we, and my employee, experienced: They charged one thing online but did not honor it in person (BAIT & SWITCH). 1) reserved a shuttle online to drop off at a campground 2) reservation went through and took money 3) called reservations (Lupita) to confirm everything. She said, "No, the dispatcher said he needs to drop you off at _____ for THAT price." (this location she gave her was 4 miles away, on the SIDE OF THE FREEWAY.) My employee asked why it took her money and made the reservation if they couldn't actually go to the campground for that price. Lupita said it was "unsafe" for the drivers to drive to that location and my employee would have to "foot" the rest of the way. As any sane person could reasonably imagine, we were utterly shocked and asked for a 100% refund for the fact they will not honor the reservation. Lupita said, "No because you didn't honor the fact that it required a physical address" (instead of a campground) If they do NOT allow campgrounds, it shouldn't have taken our money and made the reservation and then not offer a refund for their mistake. She said they will be "updating their system soon" so that it doesn't allow it. Not my problem. I care about the fact that you've taken our money and are not providing my employee with the service WE PAID FOR. Lupita said if she really wanted to get to the campground, we'd have to pay $25 more. WHY? It's 4 miles and that's not what our reservation says. She said, "you're just trying to manipulate it so you can get the cheaper price..." What in the world? The worst customer service. Thank goodness the driver was a sensible man and actually took my employee to the main gate of the lake. He said, "Wow this reservation can't be right. They wanted me to drop you off on the side of the highway. I can't do that." Yeah, truth is, Lupita really did make that reservation. She shouln't be allowed to speak to customers. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. Be warned. read more

I visit my parents in Sun City West about every other month. I fly in from Seattle and I used to rent a car, but honestly this is so much easier and much more economical. I love that I don't have to worry about traffic or when I should leave for the airport...they do all of that for me. It also saves me so much time, as Sky Harbor's rental cars are offsite and take a bit more time to return and then get to the flight terminal. Every driver I've had has been on time and personable...last trip there was an accident on the I-10 coming into Phoenix and my driver knew an alternate route and got me to the airport with time to spare. Had I been driving myself I am fairly certain I would have been late, or at the very least stressed out. read more

My family had been using Sun City Express for over 13 yrs and until recently we had been happy with the service. We had been using Sky Harbor for yrs but then began to fly in through Mesa-Tempe airport. SCE would charge $250 round trip for 2 people. On arrival they did NOT inform us that they are not allowed on the premises. So we had to walk about 5 blocks in the blistering heat to a town car that was falling apart. The interior was really gross. Leather seats that are badly stained, pieces of the door panels were missing and cracked and the back seat was terribly hot as no cool air circulated there. My last trip with SCE was July 30th, 2013. I was picked up by a driver who did not bother to introduce himself, and was sickened by the fact that when my young child and I got into the vehicle it was permeated with cigarette smoke. I could not stop coughing the entire ride to the airport and the driver again did not say a single word nor acknowledge me, and my concerns. I noted that there was a huge sticker that says, "NO SMOKING ALLOWED IN VEHICLE" on the dash board but apparently this did not apply to the driver who was also a source of the pungent stench. The driver also sped dangerously and constantly wove in & out of traffic, changing lanes and what is a normal 1 hr drive was done in 40 minutes. He then pulled my single small suitcase out of the trunk and shoved his hand in my face and demanded "Gratuity" I told him, I was very uncomfortable and was very displeased that my now coughing and wheezing child and I both smelled like ashtrays. His response was, "that's not my problem, and the car was like that when I got it." Seriously? He then stomped back to the car and peeled away from the curb. Tires screeching and all, it was utterly embarrassing. On top of this horrendous adventure when I called to complain the alleged person in charge is "Diane". She was belligerent and stated that she doesn't have to allow people to complain to her supervisor. She also claimed that the true supervisor only comes into the office once a month. The absolute worst ride and customer service I have ever seen/heard. The most rude and inconsiderate people. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- FALSE ADVERTISING -They do not have "CLEAN" cars, they are banned from Mesa-Tempe Airport for a reason. I am going to rent a car from now on, it is not only much, much cheaper, but it is also guaranteed to be clean and is not banned from airport property. read more

No GPS, No Map, Asked me for directions, I was scared and uncomfortable! I booked and prepaid for a shuttle from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Surprise, AZ, at least one week prior to arrival. You are required to give a phone number and address of destination. One would think, this is because the route was mapped out, or put into a GPS prior to pick up. Not the case! I was picked up on April 11, 2014, by an elderly driver. At pick up, he was friendly and helped me with my bags. I was the only passenger in the van. We proceed to move out of the arrival area of the airport and the driver asks if I know how to get to where I am going. I think that this is a joke and kind of laugh, saying this is my third time here this year. He says, good, do you know how to get there? I say, not really don't you have GPS? He says no. I asked didn't the company print you directions from MapQuest or something? No, is his response. I say, they don't give you a GPS? No, he replies I would have to buy my own, and I also have to buy my own maps, and the area you are headed is so new, it is not on my map. As a frequent, traveler, Road warrior, I expect when I get into a cab / black car / van service that the driver has GPS, or knows the area. As a female, this could be a very frightening situation. I kept it in perspective, because he was elderly, but I was uncomfortable, and felt unsafe / unsure. I began texting the person, that I was meeting, for directions. I then downloaded an app for MapQuest on my phone - did not have it, because my personal vehicle has GPS. The driver did not want to use the map quest directions I pulled up, making me even more uncomfortable and nervous. He did begin following directions provided to me, via text. I was so nervous that I was continually texting someone telling them what we were passing and the road signs I was reading. Once we got close to Surprise, I recognized the area and directed him to the house I was going to. The driver said, Glad one of us knew where they were going. Not humorous, not even remotely acceptable!! I did tip him, and was not confrontational about his lack of directions, because he new where I would be staying - I don't know this guy! The person that I was visiting, who recommended Sun City Express was very upset. She came out and spoke to the driver about lack of directions. His response was, At least I got her here. We called Sun City Express to speak to a supervisor and his response was, "He got her there." Again not acceptable. He rambled on, that I needed to arrive at my destination quickly for a meeting. This had nothing to do with the fact that I road 45 minutes with a man that did not have directions, and did not speak more than ten sentences after leaving the airport. We explained that had he not been elderly, this would be even more frightening than it was. The supervisor said this man has been with the co. a long time and refuses to use GPS. Not the same story the driver gave me, and if you don't know where you are headed, and refuse GPS and maps, why are you driving people. when mentioned to the supervisor that he did not even apologize, he then said sorry. Too little, too late, and not professional or courteous, or empathetic. Beware, be warned, take heed, before allowing yourself to be put in the same situation that I was in. I was scared. read more

after making a reservation 4 days in advance of my need for a ride from the airport i felt surely they would be there to pick me up. my flight was 25 minutes late and Sun City Express knew that. not only did they not have a van anywhere near the airport for me knowing i was late but waiting, they made me wait 45 + minutes for the pickup. with no where to sit and coming off recent foot surgery i called the dispatcher after 25 minutes of waiting and asked "why did i even make a reservation?" to which the dispatcher said "i don't know, why did you?" he was rude and did not care about my situation. once the driver finally did arrive had terrible body oder and no personality. he said next to nothing for the entire 45 minute ride. never again would i use this service. read more

Ordered a 4am pick up to catch a 6 am flight. At 405am, the dispatcher "didn't know where our driver was" and sent a second vehicle, which arrived at 435am. We arrived at Phoenix sky harbor at 530am and ONLY due to the kindness of Southwest Airlines did we make our flight. We called the next day to voice our displeasure, received no apology and in fact was told we should be THANKING them for upgrading us from a shared van to a town car. Supershuttle for us from now on. Sun City express is unreliable and supervisory staff is rude. read more

DRIVER LOST 2 stars are for the fact the pick-up of our guest at Sky Harbor airport went smoothly. Thank you. However, this was the first and last time we'll use this service, which was recommended by neighbors. Approximately two weeks in advance of our need for service, I made (and paid for) reservations. During first calls, the connection was lost three times; therefore I had to call back three times. I heard someone in the background saying, "What's wrong with these phones?" The person taking down all the details (I won't record her name here, even though I do have it), was extremely slow and seemed not to understand, even though I carefully enunciated every word. Ordering service for our soon-to-arrive guest was painful and laborious. When I responded to the question regarding destination, and advised Sun City, she asked, "Surprise?" I repeated "Sun City," yet when I asked her to read the details back to me, she had written "Surprise." This is only one example of her several inaccuracies during my request for service, which took an inordinately long time. I should have recognized at that point that this company has some serious problems. Prior to pick-up of our guest, I called to confirm all the details and amazingly, they were correct; and as mentioned, pick-up went smoothly. Prior to our guest's departure, Sun City Express called two days ahead to confirm they would arrive at our home by 5:30 p.m. and would have our guest at the airport in plenty of time for her international departure at 8:10 p.m.. We appreciated the customer service aspect of this call. On the day of departure, my husband and I were out front before 5:30 to see our guest off. At approx. 5:32, we received a call informing us our driver would be 15 to 20 minutes late. I told them to forget it, because they could not possibly get our guest to the airport on time. The caller said, "I guarantee we'll have Mrs. C. at the airport by 6:15 p.m." Didn't happen. At 5:45, we all went back out front and waited . . . . and waited . . . . and waited. . . . . . 6 o'clock came and went . . . . and still no van from Sun City Express. Again, our guest's international flight was to depart at 8:10 p.m. and we live a good 40 minutes from the airport. I called Sun City Express again and asked if they accept any liability for missed flights. The answer: "NO." Just as I was speaking with this person, the van arrived . . . . and our guest left our home at 6:05 p.m. By this time, she was having extreme difficulty maintaining her composure . . . . as was I. We have just heard from her and learned that she arrived at the airport at 6:40 p.m. and made the flight with little time to spare . . . . THE DRIVER HAD APPARENTLY GONE TO A SIMILARLY-NAMED ROAD BY MISTAKE. (The road he mentioned is just under five miles from our home.) We hope never to put anyone through such terrible stress again. Upon reading reviews for this company, I see that they may not be providing GPS's for their drivers. If this is true, it is not only astounding, but unprofessional in the extreme. Because they are called Sun City Express, one would assume the very maze of circular streets in this Sun City neighborhood would make it obvious the use of GPS's is the only way to navigate around here. Would we recommend this service? Sorry, but no . . . . because the bottom line aside from safety of transport, is the timeliness of the pick-up for arrival and departure. BOTH must be flawless. . . . and weren't. read more
