DRIVER LOST 2 stars are for the fact the pick-up of our guest at Sky Harbor airport went smoothly. Thank you. However, this was the first and last time we'll use this service, which was recommended by neighbors. Approximately two weeks in advance of our need for service, I made (and paid for) reservations. During first calls, the connection was lost three times; therefore I had to call back three times. I heard someone in the background saying, "What's wrong with these phones?" The person taking down all the details (I won't record her name here, even though I do have it), was extremely slow and seemed not to understand, even though I carefully enunciated every word. Ordering service for our soon-to-arrive guest was painful and laborious. When I responded to the question regarding destination, and advised Sun City, she asked, "Surprise?" I repeated "Sun City," yet when I asked her to read the details back to me, she had written "Surprise." This is only one example of her several inaccuracies during my request for service, which took an inordinately long time. I should have recognized at that point that this company has some serious problems. Prior to pick-up of our guest, I called to confirm all the details and amazingly, they were correct; and as mentioned, pick-up went smoothly. Prior to our guest's departure, Sun City Express called two days ahead to confirm they would arrive at our home by 5:30 p.m. and would have our guest at the airport in plenty of time for her international departure at 8:10 p.m.. We appreciated the customer service aspect of this call. On the day of departure, my husband and I were out front before 5:30 to see our guest off. At approx. 5:32, we received a call informing us our driver would be 15 to 20 minutes late. I told them to forget it, because they could not possibly get our guest to the airport on time. The caller said, "I guarantee we'll have Mrs. C. at the airport by 6:15 p.m." Didn't happen. At 5:45, we all went back out front and waited . . . . and waited . . . . and waited. . . . . . 6 o'clock came and went . . . . and still no van from Sun City Express. Again, our guest's international flight was to depart at 8:10 p.m. and we live a good 40 minutes from the airport. I called Sun City Express again and asked if they accept any liability for missed flights. The answer: "NO." Just as I was speaking with this person, the van arrived . . . . and our guest left our home at 6:05 p.m. By this time, she was having extreme difficulty maintaining her composure . . . . as was I. We have just heard from her and learned that she arrived at the airport at 6:40 p.m. and made the flight with little time to spare . . . . THE DRIVER HAD APPARENTLY GONE TO A SIMILARLY-NAMED ROAD BY MISTAKE. (The road he mentioned is just under five miles from our home.) We hope never to put anyone through such terrible stress again. Upon reading reviews for this company, I see that they may not be providing GPS's for their drivers. If this is true, it is not only astounding, but unprofessional in the extreme. Because they are called Sun City Express, one would assume the very maze of circular streets in this Sun City neighborhood would make it obvious the use of GPS's is the only way to navigate around here. Would we recommend this service? Sorry, but no . . . . because the bottom line aside from safety of transport, is the timeliness of the pick-up for arrival and departure. after making a reservation 4 days in advance of my need for a ride from the airport i felt surely they would be there to pick me up. my flight was 25 minutes late and Sun City Express knew that. not only did they not have a van anywhere near the airport for me knowing i was late but waiting, they made me wait 45 + minutes for the pickup. with no where to sit and coming off recent foot surgery i called the dispatcher after 25 minutes of waiting and asked "why did i even make a reservation?" to which the dispatcher said "i don't know, why did you?" he was rude and did not care about my situation. once the driver finally did arrive had terrible body oder and no personality. he said next to nothing for the entire 45 minute ride. never again would i use this service. read more

Been waiting 45 minutes for a scheduled pickup. No car in sight 3 phone calls to the office assuring us the driver is in the airport. Next time Uber!!! read more

Had a great ride from Sun City to Sky Harbor with only one couple from further out, so a direct route. The friendly & courteous driver. SCExpress confirmed my online reservation by phone a day before the ride and picked me up on time in a new van! read more

If these people tell you that you require a private shuttle based on how many people you have, refuse it and refer them to this review. We were told over the phone that they require us to have a private shuttle for 7 people, and rather than being $10 per person, we paid $111 one way, and another $111 for a ride back from the airport when we came home. They arrived this morning with another passenger, said he had to pick up one more passenger, and that no one said anything to him about us having a private shuttle. They didn't even have a record of it! THEY told us to begin with it was required for that many people!! They couldn't offer to redund the difference because "Maxine isn't in until 8:00". I refuse to ever is such a lying company again. Private clearly wasn't required, but they sure did get payment for private. The guy just stood around on his walkie-talkie having no idea what to do. They couldn't even offer a different shuttle. Never again. read more

We used ABS shuttle service for 10 years and were satisfied. Since this SC Express has taken over we have been seriously dissatisfied. First ride waited 45 minutes and then the car's trunk would not hold a golf bag so we rode with it on our laps!! Second (and last) ride after we got into the car and we were leaving the airport the driver was informed that he had to wait for another rider(s) because another of their vehicles had broken down. Rather than wait again we decided to take Uber and it was cheaper, cleaner and very pleasant. SC Express would not refund the prepaid fare even though we did not ride with them and they had a substitute rider due to the breakdown. Bad service and worse customer relations. Make other arrangements. read more

Didn't have a driver to pick our family up. We had reservations and I called, as directed, to tell them we had landed. Was told they don't have a driver for us and that we were on our own. They had my number and could have called us and/or arranged an alternative.Terrible customer service! Don't risk it with SCE. I am thankful for the Super Shuttle van that took us to grandma's house. read more

We have always had good experience with the drivers. They are friendly and always help with our bags. They'll visit if you wish, or they'll allow you time to catch up on your emails, phone calls, etc. The website makes it found like everyone is like the drivers. Unfortunately the phone staff and policies aren't concerned with customer service. We have been rudely treated when calling saying we didn't call soon enough, yet there is it's of room in the van. Today we tried to change our reservation with 22 hours in stead of the required 24. We were rudely treated. The we asked for an earlier pick up to allow us time at the airport and are told, nope, 90 minutes is all we need. When my wife was asked if there was anything else the operator could do for us, she asked the management be informed that they should be more understanding and flexible. The operator started going off on the 24 hour thing again and my wife explained that the reason she made the comment was she was asked if there was anything else they could do, and asking management to be flexible was the request. Unfortunately the poor service on the phone is why the two stars. The drivers would be 5 stars. Wouldn't the world be better if southwest was the standard and not the exception for customer service? read more

My mother and aunt, who have traveled to Phoenix in the past, have always used and have been happy with Sun City Express. This recent trip was no different. They called us the night before to remind us of when they were coming. They are great about sticking to their schedule. It would have been $100.00, but since there were three, it was $55.00 plus a $10.00 tip. Our driver, Rick Stezz, was very friendly and professional, loading and unloading our luggage and helping me in and out of the van. I thought it was cool that they had a step ladder as I know older people make up some of their clientele. He drove very safely and announced which airlines were in which area as he drove through; the first stop was coincidentally ours as we were on US Airways and another couple on Southwest as they share terminal 4. So, for reliable shuttle service at reasonable rates with friendly service, Sun City Express cannot be beat. Keep up the good work Rick and staff.! read more

We have been using Sun City Express for over 20 years and have been very happy with their service. We haven't needed them for the last couple years and found out today (9/2/16) that they have new owners as of 2014. We have always paid $115 for a town car for airport round trip from and to 85383 Peoria (adjacent to Sun City) and found out that they have changed the price of the town car from $115 round trip per couple, to a whopping $240 round trip per couple. After debating with the reservations and then dispatch manager, we were very disappointed and probably will never use them again for that reason. The more than DOUBLING of the price in two years is outrageous and Sun City Express should be ashamed. Also, we found that they did not even keep the customer data base and history of over 20 years as a reliable customer. We were not even in their system. Very poor business take-over and destruction of pricing with no explanation or customer contact. Not even advance notice to customers for over 20 years. Very disappointed!!!!
