I went on the Percy Jackson & The Olympians panel. Truthfully, I only went to this panel so that I can get average seating to the Fluffy & Jokoy panel afterwards. During the Percy panel, we were able to see the trailer for the upcoming season coming out in December. It looked pretty interesting & I may check out Season 1! Fluffy & Jokoy were funny as usual. They did highlight their collab show next year in the SoFi stadium. All the guests who attended scored free Jokoy & Fluffy merch! Total score! Now I have to say that going to the panels was a pain since you have to go outside the convention center to enter back in again through some winding lines before you enter the event area. Then obtaining the merch was a long trek to The Hilton, good thing it wasn't too hot that day! Since I was already there, obtaining my merch, I did donate some blood and got some more free merch & snacks. Needless to say, more than half my day consisted of free merch! Not bad! Since I went on Thursday, I did walk around and bought some signed merch from voice actor Bryce Papenbrook, who was super nice! I also saw the Lego SD Comic Convention Center which was insane! I loved the outside and the inside of this setup. It was noticeably not as crowded this year as opposed to previous years. I did enjoy the cosplay but sadly didn't have enough time to partake in the outside con events this year. Will definitely be back again!

Let's give serious issues the proper weight & consideration they deserve. And let's not steal from people who do the right thing. Terrible!

The fee for the lesson and party is $15, for party only - $10. The announcement (https://www.queenbeessd.com/swign-dance) places the lesson at 6:30-7:30PM, the dance with DJ music is supposed to start at 7:30PM. On the day of my visit, the times were shifted by half an hour, so if you want to just dance, 8PM is the good time. The dance lesson by Mercedes Moore (yes, the great San Diego singer!) is excellent, most of the 20+ dancers appeared to be regulars and thus had accumulated significant amount of skill, yet due to small size of group, a true beginner should feel OK. Unlike most places in San Diego, this one has noticeably more leads (traditionally men) than follows (women), so this venue might be great for a true beginner follower. During the social party few more dancers appeared, but the group remained pretty small, and by 9PM it became hard to find a dance partner (the music was still going on). Some logistics: the free (street) parking is very limited. The best paid parking is across the street in a well-lit parking lot ($5 for two hours). The wooden floor is of OK quality, the seating is adequate for the small crowd. As always for small gatherings, bringing one's own dance partner is recommended, although on the day I have visited, it was easy for follows to find a lead. Overall: a true beginner follow should definitely check out this venue. An intermediate lead that wants just to dance, should consider bringing his own follower.

No AC, shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone, and moving around felt like being in a battle royal before the matches even started. Parking...Well, it's North Park, so you already know that's part of the adventure. Expect to do a few laps and maybe say a quick prayer. That said, we made it happen and had a great time. The crowd brought the energy, the wrestling was entertaining, and honestly, the packed-out atmosphere made it feel like a big event. Just come prepared to sweat a little and earn your parking

I thought the festival was bland and it had gone downhill, if it wasn't for Yelp Elite, I would've spent more money but probably get nothing that I wanted. There were a ton of different vendors serving up some delicious bbq, Caribbean, Filipino, seafood, etc! We were given three sample tickets but unfortunately some of the vendors didn't get on the same page so some would be little, spoon bite sizes to full bowls, so I wish I knew that before so I could of been a little more choosey with my samples to get to experience more. They had live music and a nice crowd. Honestly it was a really good day except when it came to leaving, parking was a nightmare. There was no parking direction so cars parked blocking the entrance/exit to the only lot. It took 30+ minutes to find the owners to move after two announcements on the microphone. You can tell this is a newer event, with a GREAT core and mission. Just a few bumps to iron out for the future but I'll definitely love to attend again.

It's only on Thursday evenings during the summer, and this was the last event of the year. If you want good seats, get there early since it's first come first serve. A choice of beer or the Caipirinha, the traditional cocktail beverage of Brazil is offered with each ticket you purchase. The Caipirinha tasted a lot like like a mojito....We got to take pictures with a couple dancers before the show started. Food is served buffet style from 6:30-8pm. There's also a kids buffet consisting of fruits and some grilled steak. Some specialties for the adults include the traditional Picanha Churrasco (skewered beef barbecued with special seasonings), calamari salad, Brazilian rice, beer-marinated chicken and other regional specialties. Flan and assorted traditional pastries were offered when it was time for dessert. There was also a station where you can get coffee or hot chocolate and unlimited marshmallows! I was full even though I didn't eat very much. If you're brave, you can participate in the dances on stage. Overall, I had a great time!

Parking is easy and only $10, the lot is at the back of the fairgrounds and a short walk to the entrance of the event. When you walk up to the event you do not see a lot other than the ticket booth, a few food vendors and some picnic style bench seating. There was no signage directing us where to go to actual enter the event. I saw a sort of laser graphic going on thru a doorway and of course had to go check it out. Do not walk through the doorway if a false moving tunnel is not your thing. We made our way through the tunnel only to find line after line with no real rhyme or reason. Lines were however filtered so that you hit one House after another. While the family stood in line I went up to the ticket booth just to inquire about the VIP option and was able to snag 4 VIP passes (at an additional $10 per ticket). We hopped in the first line which led to "The Passage" with the VIP we walked right up. I am not sure what this was supposed to be but I would not want to do it every again. No direction, just a bunch of black walls and strobes lights throughout and you had to walk through till you found your way out. It was pure mayhem, large groups of people (mainly teenagers running amuck screaming and pushing). Just as we were going to hop out one of the emergency exits one of the employees directed us to the actual exit. No scares here, just walked out with a headache. Once you exit you are dumped directly into the Hell-Billy Hootenanny que. There was no specified VIP entrance for this House but the wait was about 5-10 minutes. This House was better than the first for sure. The set dressing was nice but there was some confusion on the theme. About a quarter of the way in both my kids turned around and said there is so much going on what is the theme supposed to be? A few good scares and way more manageable and less nauseating than the first house. Scareators were on point and no matter what the theme was they did a good job of making you feel like part of the House. Last but not least and by far our favorite was the Haunted Hayride. There were two lines, one for general admission and another for VIP. The general admission line wait was around 45 minutes while the VIP was about 15 minutes. Everyone hopped up on the hay filled tractor bed. There were several scenes throughout the hayride (including everyone's favorite Circus/Clown theme). There was a good distraction of set dressing and items to help distract you so the scareators could actually scare multiple people. All in all the Haunted Hayride lasted about 20 minutes and was really fun. Lines were fairly backed up and those who had a timed entry of 7:30 ended up standing over and a half in line before even getting through the first House. I cannot say whether it is worth it or not to spend the extra on the VIP admission. I guess a better statement would be is how much you value your time. This was my first time to the live event (we had been previously during Covid where they set-up a full drive thru haunt experience). I went in with an open mind, I did not want to compare the Scare Zone to other Haunts we have been through. I am glad we experienced once and while this event might be scary and fun for some, but I doubt it will be on my Haunt visit list in the future.

I highly recommend VIP tickets because you get an hour and a half of shorter lines and less people and special beers before the regular admission lets in. The breweries are awesome, the food is yummy and interesting. I like that they also have spirits and some non-alcoholic beverages besides just bottled water, which is also available. The music is good and overall, this is just a really fun event. We have been lucky both years to have beautiful weather. I'm pretty sure we'll keep coming back. You should, too. Its AMAZING!
