With all honesty, I've been really itching to try this place,but now I regret it. I wish they would update their menu for they had changed their prices so instead of sesame chicken, I purchased the teriyaki chicken only it didn't look like chicken at all. I read the ratings for this restaurant as my husband and I were in the area and wanted Chinese Food. Some ratings were 5 stars and another was 1. We decided to try it ourselves. This restaurant has been here 18years. Food was pretty good for fast Chinese Food. Very tasty, not greasy, served quickly and our plates were huge. Spoiler alert...it was pretty good. I've been searching for fresh, tasty Chinese food and this definitely was that. I ordered takeout and it was ready relatively quickly. The rice was fresh and had a good shrimp/veggie/rice balance. The wings were very tasty. The type of Chinese wings I've been looking for every since Chinese restaurants started serving flavored wings instead. All in all this was a positive experience but it didn't "wow" me. The absolute worst food ever! Bad egg rolls. Bad spring rolls. Bad hot & sour soup. Really bad combination dinners.

I've been going to this place for YEARS. It used to be amazing, especially when the grandfather was in charge of everything. The mom was nice, her daughter even more so. I've never ever had a problem with them (other than being a little pricey over the past couple years but oh well) before tonight. My experience tonight was so poor that I will never go back. I sent my husband to go pickup dinner. I wanted the drummet dinner with pork fried rice with no onions since I have an allergy. He wanted the same thing but with onions. I guess the "drummet dinner" has been taken off the menu in the past year because whoever was on the other side of the speaker just said no. So he ordered two boxes of pork fried rice, one of course with no onions, and a bag of wings. He repeated his order three times and was told to pull up. When he got home both boxes of rice were loaded with onions. I called and they said they would remake it. I get there and they DEMAND to see our food. The granddaughter said over the phone that she took the order and remembered it. After going back and forth with her mom, who refused to speak to me even though I know she speaks English, she changed her story and said that it was hard to hear the order and that she didn't hear the part about no onions. The mother tried to make the girl pay for the remake of my rice. I guess she wanted to originally charge me?? Im not sure but after that and the mother yelling at her daughter in front of me for five minutes, I won't be going back. That's absolutely ridiculous. read more

I basically just paid $15.00 for About $4.00 worth of food. It was mediocre slop that reminded me of that awful canned Chinese stuff we used to get from the store in the late 60s and early 70s, I think it was called "Chung King," seriously, something like you would imagine would be served in a prison. I've had previous marginally positive experiences here but not today. I ordered Hot & Sour soup, whatever this is, it's not hot and sour soup. It's some kind of heated broth gelatin with tofu and bits of egg in it. No flavor and not soup consistency. It is inedible which sucks on a short lunch break when you're sick. It's also way more expensive than the same from other area Chinese eateries, I won't order from here again and don't recommend it to anyone. read more

You cant beat there prices for the amount of food you get.If your a picky eater they got you covered you can take out and add what you want. They are a family run place mom and pop style and friendly.They speak english pretty well so none of that what did you say you get at other places.I have been eating there food for 29 years now and have ate everywhere in augusta but this place cant be beat. My family and I have been coming to this place for a very long time. Probably since it was built. So we've had a quite good share of the menu over the years. Sun Kwong is kinda 1 of the typical Chinese food restaurants you see around here in the Augusta area. The food has sometimes been hit or mess over the years and time. I'd say that the cream cheese wontons and the drummete chicken wings are my faves & go tos from here. You have to be on the lookout on the chicken wings though! They tend to leave the hair on them from time to time. I don't know about you but I don't care to see any hair on my chicken wings period! I'm not about that life! I have noticed this is with quite a few places that you get chicken wings from, and there's people that like or don't mind that jank too. Not this dude!! Also, the fried rices except the regular ham fried rice come with bean sprouts too. I don't care for those either, but that's me. Be sure to say that you don't want those if you ever happen to order the fried rice and you don't care to have them in there. The family that owns this place are very nice and friendly. I started going here because I heard their steamed dumplings were really good, which they are and I do love them. However, this is the only reason I will ever be back. After a few trips for the dumplings I decided to branch out and try something else off the menu. I went with the teriyaki chicken because no Chinese place screws up teriyaki chicken, right? Wrong! I am Not a picky eater by any means and will eat anything you put in front of me, but the teriyaki chicken was without a doubt the most disgusting thing I've ever puty in my mouth.
