Her shop is the cutest and you feel at ease the moment you walk through the door. She listens to what you want and gives you any tips/advice you could ever want! My hair turned out fantastic; she'll give you all the confidence back when you flip your hair in that way only gals can do!! She is definitely way talented and I can't wait to see what she makes of her own business & how this place grows. Go make an appt & start to love your hair again!

We met at another location that had moved, that move gave way to a great opportunity to open Zen Central. I'm usually with Bex for a haircut only, but we've recently starting trying new ways to color my hair and have had great results each time. Every time I leave her chair, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Family, friends, and coworkers can always tell when I've returned from another chair session. Zen Central is a sweet salon. You'll be the only client there, which while during the government restrictions due to the pandemic (things outside of our control), couldn't make the salon a better place to be for your private hair appointment. Highly recommend!!

While in St. Pete Beach, Florida, visiting my mom for Christmas, I was eager to continue on my yoga journey, even while on vacation. Luckily, Nava Yoga Studio was within walking distance of my mom's condo. Additionally, they were offering a wonderful new student special where you could partake in two weeks of unlimited yoga classes for $50. Both my mother and I signed up and have since taken three classes. Each of the instructors has been incredibly well-versed with their own unique style. The three classes have all been a variation of Vinyasa, or flow yoga. I like how the flow can be adapted based on your level of experience. My mom has been looking for a much deeper stretch while I really look to push and challenge myself. The studio itself is quaint and can probably only hold 12 to 15 people comfortably. They do use an app to have you reserve your spot ahead of time but also accept drop-in students for $20 per class (space permitting). They offer a variety of classes both in-studio, virtually on zoom, as well as some beach yoga. If you are like me, visiting from out of town, they do have yoga mats that you can rent for two dollars per session. Nava has been an absolute highlight of my Christmas vacation in Florida.

This community is a home to those who want to learn about mindfulness meditation and the art of living a mindful life. The inspiration for the teaching come from Thich Naht Hanh and the Buddha's teaching. They offer classes, workshops, a full day of meditation, different retreats and more. Some classes are donation base, some are not. Overall it's open for anyone in the community. I used to come more often to the weekly meditation on Sundays but then I got busy teaching at the same time it was offered. I try to come once in a while to the monthly Saturday meditation day. It's once a month on a Saturday from 9-4. They offer some meditation, then walking meditation, then Darmha talk ( teaching) lunch etc. everything is done in silence... The facility is beautiful and currently they are building residential wing I believe. You can register on line to receive their newsletter and know. I did not take any pictures as I thought it wasn't respectful.

Music even louder than most Pilates, spin or even Zumba classes I have ever taken. I couldn't hear anything in the back, couldn't focus. None of the panels above us had red lights on as we expected by booking an infrared class [like they have at other studios], so unsure if it's because they didn't have them or because they didn't turn them on this morning...so it just felt like a regular heated class, not infrared. The whole experience was disappointing today, because I have taken several other classes here at Beach Town [yin on Sundays and even some of their outdoor yoga events], and they have been great -- never felt like this. Also, the studio vibe this morning was i.e. yogis on their phone, on their mat, up to class start; someone's looooud alarm going off mid flow; everyone talking so loud, as if at a bar... the energy today felt more like a "Brooklyn hipster fitness yoga" studio than a cleansing, mindful, authentic, grounding yoga journey/experience. I hope that classes at a different time or non-power flow are a better experience than what we experienced this morning. I love Beach Town otherwise :(
