Unfortunately, one line burst last winter, which I believe happened due to poor workmanship. This year, when more lines broke, I called again. He came after 3 days, fixed some heads, and then charged me $385. I don't mind paying $385 if it was clearly quoted before the work, but he told me the amount after finishing and even blamed me for not negotiating beforehand. He also said 5 years warranty, but later did not honor it. My suggestion for future clients: Always get written quotation, written warranty, and receipt copy before and after the job. Otherwise, once work starts, extra charges can be added and it becomes difficult to argue. I had a very bad experience. Maybe others had good service, but I am sharing this to alert everyone.

First of all, I should've read reviews of this company before hiring them. I used Angi to find a…read morelandscaper/sod installation pro and Juan with Juan's Landscape and Irrigation was the first one to call me within an hour after posting. Since he's a local business owner, I didn't hesitate and hired him after we agreed with the terms. I always used local businesses in the past to help the small businesses in our community, and often times satisfied with the services rendered. That wasn't the case this time around. Juan and his installers were sloppy in laying down the Bahia sods, there's overlapping and unevenness everywhere, the entire lawn became a landmine! You have to watch your steps when walking on the lawn so you won't trip and worst, twist or break an ankle or two! I even got comments from my honest neighbors, my daughter and her friend and my wife on how crappy the lawn looks. I wasn't offended at all because it's true. I brought this to Juan's attention and he just shrugged and told me "it's Bahia, if it was St. Augustine, they lay flat right away". Additionally, the sod is heavily infested with weeds! I'm currently looking for a reputable company to address the weed infestation. I WILL NOT USE Angi again to find one. There were also several brown/dead patches of sods that were laid, and some of them, thankfully, have recovered after a month, but the others just remained brown. After a little over 3 weeks, I mowed the grass for the first time because they're so overgrown, but not without asking Juan's approval first. He agreed and told me to set the mower to its highest setting, in which I did. I informed Juan that many dead patches need to be replaced. I was told by his wife Jasmine, that they'll come take a look within that week. It's been more than 3 weeks since and they haven't showed up yet. I'm concerned if they don't come soon, the 2-months warranty will expire and I'll be really screwed! I have other issues related to this contract, like damaged fence sections during the tree removal, but my main concern is the sod installation. I'm writing this review of Juan's Landscaping and Irrigation business so others will be informed about the quality of work and customer service this company provides.
