Ararat did some landscaping work for me about 4 months ago on a sole-source basis. Their work was fast and efficient, and I selected them due largely to their reputation for high quality work. I was satisfied with the result, but felt it was overpriced. I bid out several other jobs out, and Ararat lost because of overpricing. Bottom line: If you want quality work done quickly and price is not an issue, Ararat is a good choice. For the rest, bid the job out. read more

Amazing service and results. The day after I requested a quote, I received an illustration of the garden. Edwin and Jose explained their thoughts and ideas very concisely in a productive manner, I even learned more about my own garden (e.g., how tall my holly bush should be in proportion to my house). They were also very responsive and incorporated my ideas into a beautiful garden. They provided an accurate estimate with a breakdown of the costs and worked with my budget. They installed the garden itself all in one day. Along with the garden, they installed lights for the gardens/sidewalk and helped me troubleshoot lighting issues (my wall outlet was broken so I couldn't plug them in). I contacted Jose on a Friday and he said he would be here on a Mon @ 9am to go over our property. He asked me to text him my address which I did. I never got a response back, but I thought because of the great reviews he was busy. I then called and texted again on Monday after he didn't show up at 9am. Unfortunately -- no response. They could have had a very lucrative contract for ongoing lawn management with potential for future growth with other properties. Looks like the quality and professionalism has gone down. read more

They started off great but after about two months their service quality declined. I paid for my front yard and back. They would only get the front yard and wouldn't even go into the backyard. They also stopped edging the lawn. I brought this up to the owner and he dismissed my issues, I had to keep bringing it up. I brought up that they hadn't been to my residence to perform the agreed upon service and he argued with me stating they come biweekly. I have outdoor cameras that keep feed for months, I advised him of such and guaranteed him they had not come to the residence. He did not answer me. I do not recommend this service if you are looking for professionals who will be accountable for their work or lack there of. read more

Overall, am I very satisfied with the work done by Ararat Garden. Edwin was very professional and thorough. We paid approximately $1200 for ~600 sqft area and almost another $1200 to replace our dilapidated irrigation system. Edwin was able to give an immediate quote for the sod, but not the irrigation system until the invoice was emailed prior to the work being started. Our realtor stated the quote was too high and suggested other landscapers afterwards, but we didn't mind helping a locally family owned business. There were few open seams and gaps between the patches and the house that were not filled, and they mulched an area without discussing that with me first; but it still looks nice. I received a thorough walk through of the irrigation system, but didn't receive the instruction manual for the new system as I requested. Prior to leaving, no additional lawn service(s) was offered to help maintain the lawn. That was a bit disappointing and a lost opportunity for their business. Since TruGreen periodically inquire to care for my yard, I will give the contract to them. read more

Do not use Ararat Garden for lawn service. I had sod replaced. The day of service nobody knocked on my door to say good morning and let me know they were going to start working. I just happen to go check the mail and they were in my yard. They do not use the most updated equipment. Workers manually removed old grass leading to uneven spots. No equipment to churn, treat, and level dirt before new sod is put down. The quality of the grass is poor. It died within weeks. I had them replace what the poor quality grass put down the first time. The second time it was even worse. Once again I was not notified when the replacement was put down. I wasn't home and wasn't able to view for several days, as I was away. I only paid a deposit, but still need to get the entire front yard redone. I also requested to have mulch removed with the black covering added in the area with my plants/bushes close to the house. I'm putting rocks down. The old mulch was never removed just put the black covering down. Zero pride in the quality of their work. After speaking with a friend who is a lawyer I will move forward with legal action. Please stay away. read more
