Girlfriend's flight was delayed 10 minutes coming into Boise due to weather. Called and let the manager know what the situation was in advance. Regardless, they did not hold the shuttle an extra 10 minutes and left my girlfriend stranded in Boise. I had to drive down from Sun Valley to pick her up in the middle of the night because she was not comfortable driving in a snow storm. COMPLETE DISASTER!!! After all that, the company also refused a refund. I'm guessing 99% of the company's business comes directly from airline travellers. To me, this is similar to if your flight was delayed 10 minutes and your connecting flight just abandoned you at the airport. Absolutely unexcusable. Shame on them for running such a poor business. I have also heard from people that weren't abandoned at the airport that that the busses are FREEZING cold in the winter and completely miserable 3 hour journey. I am going to be travelling to Sun Valley every year for the next 30 years (hopefully) and I will recommend every person I come accross to avoid this disaster on wheels. read more

Watch out for these folks. They charge $69 each way per person to get from Boise to Sun Valley and they will not refund your money even if your airline schedule changes. I made reservations with this company for late January 2015 in September. My United flight was scheduled to arrive at 3:04 pm and the bus leaves at 3:30 pm. It was impossible for me to arrive any earlier from where I live on the East Coast. Wouldn't you know it, a week after I make all reservations, United notifies me that the flight will now arrive at 3:50. I notify Sun Valley Express and this unethical company will keep my $138 dollars. I understand that they may not want to refund money if a customer changes their mind, but this was beyond my control. This is my first trip to Sun Valley and if I ever return, this experience will color my memories. I doubt if I'll be able to return within a year to use that bus ticket but any future trips I'll arrange for a one-way car rental for about $30. I know I can count on the car rental companies unlike Sun Valley Express, a company that puts its own considerations ahead of its customers. Here is an update. Once I informed the company of my Yelp review here is their reply. I will note that their website is clear that no refunds will be made and unused tickets can be used up to a year after purchase. It seems however that based on their reply to me they may allow a customer to redeem their ticket after a year passes. Will it be available to me after two years? Three? There is no guarantee of this. In addition, watch out.... If you complain on social media they will refuse to serve you ... After they have met their original obligation, of course. I would ONLY use this shuttle service if I was traveling to the Sun Valley area from Boise under the following conditions: ~ I'm by myself ~ I know I won't need a car at my destination ~ Idaho/Sun Valley's in a whiteout snowstorm, making winter driving conditions dangerous A little background...for those traveling from outside of Idaho who like affordability and reliability in their travels in getting to the Sun Valley area, they should fly into Boise and either rent a car or take this shuttle service. The alternative is to fly directly into Hailey, 10 miles south of Ketchum/Sun Valley (which still requires a van ride, car rental, or bus if your destination is Ketchum/SV). Here's the issue with the Hailey airport: it's a small airport that's typically 3X as expensive to fly into/out of (versus Boise, which has tons of cheap flights), flights into Hailey are less frequent, it involves loud and bumpy turboprops and hairy landings (squeamish flyers beware!), AND is prone to weather issues that can throw severe hiccups into your itinerary -- and in some cases may sandbag your travel to Ketchum/SV altogether since the control tower closes at 11pm (not kidding)...so if your flight itinerary's really gone amuck, you get redirected to Twin Falls, or worse. Soooo....based on my own experience, time, and money; I have boycotted flying into Hailey altogether. That being said, this is where your travel options from Boise to Ketchum/SV come into play, and consideration of this shuttle service. If you're traveling with a companion/spouse, and make arrangements in advance, it's definitely more economical to rent a car to get to the Sun Valley area from Boise. The trip takes anywhere from 2.5-3 hours, depending on weather and your driving speed. The shuttle trip itself is reliable and comfortable, but it's a little pricey. But my biggest complaint is that many times the drivers don't seem to have much knowledge of the Ketchum/SV area. There's a place I've stayed at over a dozen times that's less than two blocks from downtown Ketchum...a 5 minute walk...and I've lost count of the number of times drivers have been lost and unable to find the street. It's not difficult to find, and when I look it up online, it's right there on yahoo maps. I want to say, for the record, that some drivers are very knowledgeable and helpful, and don't need help with directions. However, half the time drivers seem to get lost...and one Bozo recently really infuriated me and started laughing at me on the phone as I tried to guide him into the address...he either has rocks for brains, is brand new, or he's horribly trained in the directions department. On several occasions they'll call and suddenly the onus of an accurate arrival of your guest is placed ON YOU. Very stressful and unnecessary, IF THE DRIVER COULD SIMPLY FIGURE OUT WHERE THE F*K HE'S GOING!!! On one recent occasion, to thwart these ongoing "lost driver" issues, one driver was given clear directions I had sent to a passenger who was arriving from Boise, and the fella STILL couldn't figure out how to find the place. Again, it isn't difficult to find. These guys need to get a grip. A shuttle service like this one shouldn't have drivers getting lost who don't know their way around town. It's totally inexcusable and unacceptable. This is what these people do...they pick up and drop off folks. Therefore, it might be good to know where you're going...especially if it's the focus of your biz. Just a thought. So, again, use these guys as a last option...and while you should be happy and comfortable with the ride, make sure you're prepared with clear directions, maps, phone numbers of your host's house, and an impromptu cameo into a stressful version of Driver Directions 101. Oh, and the website for this biz needs a revamp...it looks hideous and like something out of the Stone Age, a.k.a. mid-90s internet shtick. Who knows, maybe that's an indicator of larger problems; they're outdated and unaware, or maybe just don't care. read more

These guys were great! Our flight got delayed and they rescheduled us by email to the later shuttle that day. Then, on the way back, we needed to be rescheduled again because I had made the reservation based on a misread of our flight itinerary. They were again very accommodating with the shuffle. It's been a couple years since I have used Sun Valley Express. It's improved quite a bit! We rode from Sun Valley Lodge to Boise Airport today and TOM was our driver. He was awesome, super friendly & an excellent driver. The shuttle itself was BRAND NEW! Thanks & we will totally use them again. read more

We had bad experiences both ways from Boise to Sun Valley. Left 45 minutes late one way and over and hour late the other way. Almost missed our plane which would have been a catastrophe. Their "no refund" policy is not fair. read more
