Took it to Conklin Cars for the "oil leak" that wasn't supposed to be there. Anyway he tried to jab me with a $575.00 dollar charge for a muffler and a gasket. Said he'd take $100.00 off for "cash". Wish my pension check came in "cash'. Don't know why I chose this shop. Conklin has treated me right and that's where I'll go from now on.

They kept it for two days and then told her it was just going to be that way. She would need to buy a trickle charger to be able to drive her car. Charged her several hundred for this great advice. Then against advice from family she returned to Conklin due to her air conditioning not working. They kept the vehicle for 4 hours and would not give her a ride home as a courtesy. At the end of the 4 hours they said they were not sure but would order a part to fix it. How long would the part take to come in? She asked. They replied they didn't know and they had to order it from Amazon. ????? charge of $500 Took two weeks for the part to come in. They installed it and tried the AC. The service department told her they installed the part incorrectly and burned it up. They would be ordering another part at her expense even though they are the ones who ruined the first one. The second part only took one day to arrive. Odd since the first one took weeks. She argued the responsibility of her paying for the part but they would not budge. Cost $750.00 Conklin cars seems to take advantage of elderly people. She bought this vehicle at Conklin cars new. Everything from regular preventive maintenance to electrical to brakes and replacing the rear end on the Corvette. An electrical problem in the Corvette was diagnosed quickly and repaired economically. The only possible negative I can think of is they seem to have a lot of repeat business so you might not be able to just roll in and get things worked on immediately. If you want to call having lots of repeat customers a negative, of course. Do recommend.

They were very nice and professional and seemed to know what they were doing. We were told the truck would be out of commission for 8 days. On the 8th day, we called because we hadn't heard from them the entire time and were told it would be finished that day but to call before we headed that way. Called and were told the truck wasn't going to be finished that day after all. Would have been nice to get a phone call before we got halfway into our 30 minute drive. Truck looked great once we finally got it back but now we are having problems with the passenger side window, which has ALWAYS worked great. There wasn't even any damage to the passenger side so I don't know why they would even mess with it. But now it makes a "clunk" noise and sounds like it's cracking when it goes up or down and seems to fall into the door when rolled all the way down. I would say this place would be okay for small detailing and dents but not for big repairs as they seem to mess with stuff that doesn't need fixing to begin with.
