My membership was @ $55.00/ Month. Because of a medical circumstance the sunless treatments were to provide some peace of mind. From.the beginning I was overcharged on my card on account. Instead of one charge there were several and then credits......we later learned that this is often a technique incorporated with fraud in mind to camouflage unauthorized transactions. I was informed by Visa that they are currently investigating numerous fraud complaints involving unauthorized charges from this business .....at all.locations. So many that Visa may stop accepting paymenta from this business permanently! After several attempts to reach the owners Gary and Rob I recieved a call from Cindy who alleged herself to be in charge of customer service. After arguing about the charges for 40 mins on our first call she asked for copies of my bank statements. 14 pages later and emails I felt I would finally be whole on my whopping $53.55 overcharge.......3 weeks ago Cindy emailed that I was refunded the day before......ANOTHER LIE. After I had to.listen to Cindy berate me about how hard she worked to help me and how great she was at her job......I'm still left unresolved. Rather than give up like many before me. I decided to treat this as a theft. After contacting the Financial Integrity Unit within the Morris County states attorney......we are now processing a criminal complaint of simple theft against the owners of Sizzle Tan. I encourage each of you that have been defrauded by this group to step up and file a complaint. It's unlikely I'll ever see my refund but I'm certain that was never in the cards. Either way it's my sincerest hope that my buyer beware story resonates for all of you and it saves you from the risk of being defrauded also. By the way......they turned off my membership early when they read this post! Almost Tanned and definitely banned.....

I called the phone number for Morris Plains and asked for a blowout. The receptionist said to come on by within 15 minutes to Morris Plains. When I arrived, the receptionist had me sit in the waiting room while she spoke to a manager. She walked over and said, "I'm like sorry, but we have the blowout bar at the East Hanover location. We are under construction so I booked the appointment but we can't do it here. Don't worry, East Hanover is like, 10 minutes away." I am little concerned that the receptionist is not aware of the services available at her job. Shame on Sizzle Tans for poor customer service, not offering to fix or help out when making an error, and for hiring very confused individuals to represent their company.

Instead, I finished out my sessions and waited until my final visit to leave an honest review. The overall cleanliness and sanitation of this place is extremely concerning. The tanning rooms are very dark, which clearly helps hide how dirty everything actually is. The rooms and common areas are messy and unsanitary, and there is nowhere to place or hang personal belongings in the room. Beyond that, the atmosphere is very unprofessional. There are dogs inside the salon, a baby in the front area at times, and employees sitting barefoot with their feet up on the counter. The entire experience made me uncomfortable every single visit. The tanning bed I was repeatedly assigned to is poorly maintained and in need of service. It would noticeably burn my face while barely tanning the rest of my body, and the fan in the bed was broken as well, making the experience even more uncomfortable. A tanning salon should feel clean, sanitary, relaxing, and professionally maintained. Unfortunately, this place was the complete opposite. I would not return, and I personally cannot recommend it.

Sometimes, I take my kids to bubble tea next door and he'll come out and say "hi" or wave...everyone here is great. The beds are well maintained and they have a really good variety of types to chose from. Sometimes I feel like relaxing and do the 20 min bed, and other days I'm in a rush and use the fast ones. They have a stand up one that is my favorite, it just feels more natural to me to stand. I've done a good amount of research, looking at actual peer reviewed data on which one is healthier and it seems shorter more frequent exposure is better, this makes sense as it allows your melanocytes (the cells that respond to UV) time to make melanin. I used to get pretty depressed in the winter. My hormones were fine, my vit-d was good, everything was "normal" according to my doctor. Then, one day while working out I heard a guy talking about why he tans. Long story short I decided to try it. What a difference it makes, I pretty much tell anyone who will listen. But, just like anything else you want to use the minimum effective dose. So go easy, especially on your first few sessions.

The tanning products are very reasonable with their prices. So if you ever in the Goshen area definitely check them out. I'm excited to see my results as I'm someone who don't get much outside time to go to a pool or beach do to work so this will definitely help. They are closed on Sundays but they are open Mon-Sat and their hours are pretty good. They have the stand up tanning ( which I don't like) but they also have the bed you can lay down in and just relax lol. So check them out if you in the area

I decided to try Electric Beach Tanning in Greenbrook.located on the westbound side of Rt. 22 west in the Greenbrook Shopping Plaza.......( the sign just says tanning) This specific Electric Beach Tanning Salon came highly recommended. ( THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER ELECTRIC BEACH TANNING SALONS IN THE AREA, BUT THIS BY FAR IS THE BEST ONE...) From the minute I walked in I noticed how clean and immaculate this tanning salon is....... I spoke to a receptionist named Melissa at the front desk when I checked in. Melissa was very friendly and answered all my questions... She made recommendations as to what level bed to use and approx for how long to tan. I filled out the required paperwork and questioner It helps to determine the right bed and time to tan so you don't get burned...( IF YOU ARE A MINOR YOU MUST HAVE AN ADULT COME IN AND SIGN THE WAIVER.) I did this for my daughter.....then she was given goggles to protect her eyes. Again, I was impressed how Melissa really cleaned and disinfected the goggles... The first thing you do is sign in with your registered fingerprint...... To the left of the checkin counter is a waiting area with couches, chairs and a flat screen so you or your friends can relax especially if their busy...... ( I recommend using one of the many tanning lotions that Electric Beach Tanning sells....reg suntan lotions and oils will not do.) I like that EBT is very strict with upholding and following all the legal rules...This is one, if not the best tanning place I've ever been to. Tanning beds have come a long way in 20 years...They are safer and much more efficient. I walked down a long hall. Each room had a clean tanning bed in it. Each of the beds is a different level to help accommodate all the different skin types and different levels of color, fair to medium dark skinned .. I also noticed there are two stand up tanning machines.. They start at level 3. There are fliers posted notifying people if they are on medication to check the list because some meds are sun sensitive. There is even a notice if a young teen comes in .. My daughter was recommended level 3 for 7 minutes.. I bought the proper lotion and in 7 minutes she was done... It is very easy. I decided to purchase a package . It much more cost effective... ETB sells monthly memberships, and if your register your phone number in the FREE TEXT CLUB you will get a upgrade, or a free lotion packet..... In the very back there is an area to freshen up after tanning.... ETB is open everyday and is open late for people who want to come in and tan after work... There is plenty of free parking..... The owner Steve is doing everything right and I applaud him for keeping his salon at such high standards.....
