We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). BEWARE OF HIRING THIS GUY. See pictures and review below…read more I hired Gerson to install a TWO zone irrigation system, but he only installed a ONE zone. Prior to starting he confirmed multiple times that it would be a two-zone setup, per text messages. After the installation, I found out from a different landscaper that only one zone was actually connected. So now I can't control how much water my trees versus smaller desert plants get. I reached out SEVERAL times over SEVERAL weeks to give him the chance to come back and check it, but he completely stopped responding. He claims he stands behind his work with a 2 year warranty, but so far that is false. This isn't the only issue either. We have dying plants because the drip lines barely reach them. Plants and trees falling over because of not enough support and also slowly dying from improper watering from not having a 2 zone system. AND a few days after the job was complete I noticed he cut up my backwash hose line for the pool pump. He claimed he didn't see it at first but him and his crew were literally the last ones in that area. He reluctantly shipped me a new backwash hose but didn't want to come install it so I had to do it myself because he stopped responding. Yes, maybe it's easy to install but why should I have to fix your mistake??? Promising one thing and delivering something different is completely DISHONEST. Now I'm stuck paying another contractor to fix all the other problems. I've been patient and gave him enough opportunity to resolve any issues before leaving a review, but being ignored for weeks leaves me with no other choice. I hope this helps others when deciding who to hire.
