New in town we contacted them on an account. They need positive ID with correct address. If your license does not match your FL address they require a rental agreement or a lease agreement of some sort. After we shredded our account information, oooops, we stopped in to get a duplicate. Staff was very helpful. Their touch screen up front was broken so she walked me over to the ATM type machine. I needed to make a deposit so the person on the screen and the person standing next to me helped. All of the bills were brand new but one had a small bended corner. The ATM shot the money back and required me to straighten them. Ugh. I mean this was the SMALLEST bend and if I had been standing outside with people surrounding me I would have been very very uncomfortable. In fact I was already uncomfortable standing there with that much money in my hands. And it took about 4 minutes for the transaction to go through from start to finish. Very impersonal and very nerve-racking as it makes you feel like people are going to rob you. I want to hand over my money to a teller and get it in safe keeping immediately. Plus the amount of money you are giving them is listed in huge print on the screen. Another very impersonal and unsafe issue. No drive thru at this location. Another bummer. They revamped electronic payments and now send paper checks by snail mail instead of secure and timely electronic payments. They sent a check to Duke Energy instead of an electronic payment. They had been sending electronic payments for this vendor the entirety of my time with them. This was an unannounced degradation of service that could have cost me and thousands of others of customers, a lot of money. If I had waited for the same date I had normally been paying my bill I would have been rightfully hit with a late payment by Duke. How many of their customers weren't so lucky? Electronic payments are a basic service that has been available to consumers for decades. Not sure what chucklehead should have been fired for this but heads should roll for whoever ran and signed off on this project. (Update on April1 (Not a joke) - I just received an email from Duke Energy that after 15 days the check that was supposedly sent has yet to arrive. 5 days until the late charge hits.) (Update on April 2 - If you delete and re-add them you might be able to get electronic payments to the major electricity provider in your county restored. Probably won't work. We have a new system. Maybe it will work some day.) No luck. They have Duke Energy listed but not for my zip code. Moving on to a new CU. read more

She found them in S. St. Petersburg - a 45 minute drive, but better than waiting 30 days. And when I got there, they were new bills. Love the personal attention at all the Suncoast Credit Unions! These assjacks deposited my wife's money into my account, took the money back out, and then launched an investigation over their own mistake. I tried to deposit money at their ATM (at the worst credit union branch location ever), and I was unable to because the receipt stated my card was reported stolen. Since they were closed for Christmas, I had to call the stolen card hotline. The woman took 8 tries to get my number correct and then told me the card was cancelled due to no withdrawals being made. How the hell does me putting money into their institution not benefit them?! I still haven't had the time to call them to order a new card, because apparently I can't order a new one online like a modern credit union would offer. Their online experience is convoluted and archaic. I can't determine what exactly the min payment for my revolving credit card is, so I have to guess when I set up auto payments from another account. I was wrong this month, so I was charged a late fee for the first time in the history of me having a credit card (est. 2004). I never even received a notice of this, so luckily I periodically check my accounts. Yes, I can't set up auto minimum payments that I can tell. If I can, I haven't found it and that just proves my point about the convoluted and archaic online experience that this Mickey Mouse credit union offers. Two stars instead of one for their rates and promos, which is the ONLY reason I joined them. read more

Terrible. Had a checking and savings account. Supposedly mailed 3 notifications of dormancy, fees assessed, and account being closed. Have not received a single notification. Received other mail from them. Called in to speak to a representative and was told to see a branch. Came into a branch and stating it's automated mail that gets sent out. I mentioned, in this day and age, why wouldn't I get emailed a notification or called or text messaged. Was told due to confidentiality. You don't have to disclose personal information to send a notification of dormancy or fees being assessed or an account being closed. I even use the app on the phone and checked monthly. Any notification through the app would have helped as well. Told me I was given the policy and printed me 20 pages and saying it's subject number 26. I understand it's in writing but I specifically asked if there was any requirements for the accounts when I opened them and was told just a minimum to open. Just sounds like a way to make/ take people's money. Have not had issues with the other banks that I deal with. Was going to open an account for my son but will not be doing that anymore. So please take your money elsewhere. read more

These days, anyone who does not belong to a credit unions is missing out on a lot of perks like: better interest rates for investments and loans. I don't know if I'm just really good at picking the right time of day, but this bank has never been busy whenever I've gone. What makes the visits even smoother is how friendly and quick the tellers are. I came this this location yesterday to deposit a check and I was literally in and out in under five minutes. I've been here before to change my name when I got married, and they were fast with that as well, so the service is consistent across the board. The only down side is the entrance. Currently the entrance from US 19 has cones on either side (looks like they're doing some kind of construction) so making a quick turn into the plaza is hard when other cars are tailing you. My best advice is to come around from the back on Enterprise Road. I'll be taking this route from now on so I don't have have a miniature heart attack every time I need to make a deposit. read more

So you walk in to this bank, and there are a couple desks where you can get the regular assistance for account help etc. then you wonder where the regular tellers are and off to the left are two "virtual tellers" which look like regular ATM machines. No regular tellers here. So let me ask you this, why do I need to have a conversation with an ATM machine. What happened to walking up, punching buttons to make your deposit... now you have to explain to the tv screen person what you want. Put your drivers license here... do this do that. If Youre an ATM person, (like I am) I don't want to talk to a person... no thanks I'll do it myself. But If you're a people person like my husband, you don't want to go up and talk to a machine. My husband went here once before and complained about it, but to go to another location where they have regular tellers he has to drive 45 mins out of his way. So I told him I would go in for him.... and I found it equally as FRUSTRATING. The teller was nice, but still virtual image talking to you... from where? And, I've been told that other locations are thinking of going to the same virtual tellers!!!! STOP THE INSANITY!!! read more

I am not impressed with your recent upgrades to SunNet online bill pay. I know how to prenote again on some payments. Also, you only see nicknames and not provider names and I called your number and she could not help me as well. The systems is real slow when you click the arrows on the left. My solution to try to pay a bill is to go into the activity section and look at past Bill's and update the nickname on them so I can see the bill I am paying. We had mistakenly been short paying our car loan by a whopping $1.83 per month... Totally our fault. BUT, instead of calling all of our contact numbers or sending us a letter, SSFCU reports this to the credit bureaus and dings my wife's and my credit by 100 points. When called about this, they said "not our fault". I will be ending my relationship as soon as I can, and I will go with a credit union that care enough to call/mail about things like this before killing my credit. A little human touch vs. automated calling would have solved this. All for $1.83/month...nice customer service! read more
