This is the worst branch of Suncoast in the entire southwest Florida area. You'll spend so much time in line waiting to deposit or obtain your money. I went in there one time and there was a line of at least 15 people deep and all they had were two bank tellers. I made a comment to one of the workers and said you guys need to hire more tellers and she responded with. Oh no we're all qualified to be tellers here. So you're telling me you have all these people waiting they're all getting pissed off and you have a bunch of workers just walking around saying hi to people and you don't do anything to shorten the line ? I've been to other branches and they are amazing. This one needs to be closed down or completely revamped. Do better and I'm not the only one who says this the reviews for this branch are horrible. read more

I have been a member for over 20 years. I've had home loans, auto loans, credit card and equity loans. On my current auto loan I wanted to refinance it. On my member page it said refinance current auto loans. So I filled out the application and got approved at a better rate. My credit got hit. Then I get a message that, sorry we do not refinance current auto loans. So after complaining, my take away is that they will refinance other bank auto loans for new customers, but for their members it's a big F you. Take your business somewhere else. So, they rather lose long time members. Caution.....they don't care about their members. I will be looking for a new bank to do business with. They don't deserve a 1 star. read more

Requested a payoff quote for my loan, sent my payment 7 calendar days before the payoff quote expired, Suncoast claims they didn't receive my payment until AFTER the expiration of the quote, so I was charged interest on my loan that I then needed to pay off that was under $15. instead of taking care of a customer of 6 years that never missed a payment, and wiping clear the interest charge, they wanted me to submit another payment for the interest, including a payment fee AND include payment for any interest that would accumulate from the time the payment was sent to the time the payment was received. That's taking advantage of a client and I'm not interested in doing business with Suncoast again. read more

I have always been a long time Suncoast member but this weekend topped it all. For the second time in three months I purchase something and they suspect fraud. They call me while I am in a meeting. The number comes up as a scam from Miami, so I dont answer. They shut my card off. No text or anything! I try to call when I realize it has been shut off and NOBODY, can help after hours. They tell me to call during business hours. Monday is a holiday and the banks are closed. What if I was out of town or needed money in an emergency? Absolutely 100% ridiculous! They have people on the phone live ready to help set up a card or report it lost or stolen but not a soul to help with this issue. Suncoast, you have to do better!!! read more

Yesterday there was an elder man trying to put money in his account around 11:15 and all of the workers there were screaming at him for not understanding how to use the kiosk. Was the most disgusting thing I've seen in my entire life he looked terrified and they wouldn't stop yelling didn't help him at all. Here we go again!! Both my husband and I tried to get a small amount out of 2 ATM's. Plenty of money to cover it. Mine transaction was denied. My husband tried, he got half the money. On top of that, HIS SS CHECK HAS BEEN SITTING IN OUR ACCOUNT WITH A STATUS OF PENDING!! It's a Social Security check!!! Now I have to waste time inside to find out why I can't get my own money!!!! Closing this account out ASAP!!! This place is a friggin joke!!! And I was asked for my phone number the last time I gave a review, but I never got a phone call. Take my money, hold it hostage, and not even give a shit that it's MY MONEY!!!! Then once inside, you find out that no matter how much you have in your account, you can only take out a certain amount a day, if the account is under 6 mos old, AND it doesn't matter if you have the money to cover the withdrawal. Dealing with this bank has been the worst. DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD FROM HERE THEY WILL RAPE YOU WITH FEES. The employees are just that and don't know company policies. I switch my external bank account to auto withdrawal to pay my credit card. The employee never told me I needed to fill out a form. They been attempting to deduct from the previous closed account. I'm under the impression it's automatically being paid. Got a letter in the mail saying it wasn't. Went online to see my credit card is now late two months. The employee at the branch never made me aware that I had to fill out the form. Now they canceled my credit card (without my knowledge) until I walked in the bank spoke to a rep, and I have lates in my credit. They did this a year ago with my car loan. WATCH EVERYTHING FROM THIS BANK CLOSELY!! They also charge multiple interest payments on cash advances plus the interest for CC purchases. Worst mistake I've made is getting a credit card from this bank. If I could give this bank zero stars I would. read more

Tried to log into my Suncoast account and received a message that my access was restricted and it supplied a number to call. I called the number and was advised that because my account had not had any activity for a while that I had to go into a branch to verify my identity. After waiting over an hour my wife and I were escorted back to an associates desk. I explained the reason I was there and I was told that because I did not have my Social Security card with me there was nothing that could be done today. I had my photo id, and the card I got from Suncoast when I opened the account, which had my member # and my account #. At no time , during my phone call or when I checked in at the branch to wait was I told I needed my SS card. Who carries their SS card around with them!?!? What a waste of my time . A total lack of communication.I I was going to use this account for pension deposits but now I believe I will just use an account at a different financial institution. Very disappointed. read more

I have had nothing but grief since I opened my accounts here. The most recent issue, I wrote a check for $350.00 and they cleared it on Friday night for $3500.00, emptied my account, took money out of my savings to cover said item, I went into my local branch this morning and they put in a "correction" ticket request and told me it would be 2-3 business days until i get my money back. I sent a message on my online banking app over the weekend with my name and account number. Got a reply, we don't know who you are, sorry about your luck. I cant take it anymore, looking for a new bank. I worked in banking for 15 years, have accounts at many other banks, never have I seen this horrible customer service. read more

Sadly, this credit union gave a bad name to credit unions. I've had several credit unions in my life, as I have live in so many states and so many different areas of states. Just to open a savings account, they told me they were going to run a HARD credit report. I've never had a credit report run on me to open a savings account. I just moved here from another state. The apartment I'm renting from did a credit report on me, I couldn't afford to have another one done, much less a HARD, report. This savings account was not even going to be used, it was just so I could have some kind of bank close by. My main bank is NFCU. There just isn't one here locally. I'm sorry I couldn't give you my money to hold. Maybe another bank will take my money. On a side note on their policy. The building is nice. There is a good size parking lot, although I feel Friday payday it will fill up. I spoke with a few different people and they were friendly, and helpful. read more

I just stopped at my local branch and was asked to remove my sun glasses,I felt like a crimnal.Now I found out that you cannot posess a firearm anywhere on the PROPERTY. If I could leave a review with 0 stars I would i've ever used in my life they won't let you deposit cash into the AP ATM after 8 PM let alone checks when you go in no one will help you or take you you no one will take you. They want you to go to their interactive tellers that need your Social Security number ID everything to deposit money into the account that I hold the card to that I have the pin to go have all the information to, but they won't accept money to put into it. Worst customer service I tried to go in and talk to branch members and they treat me like I'm a peasant and they're just annoyed that they're talking to me. Keep trying to refer me to the machine get mad at me because my work doesn't do direct deposit making me wait 14 days for my check to be deposited after I put it into the account. Absolutely ridiculous. I open my account there and we had to wait a month without any money because it took 14 days for them to accept check into my account from a business. No mobile banking for your first 6 months of membership. Their app looks like a 5 year old made it. I do my best to always do business with local organizations. This is especially true with banks. I find in general, local banks are much better to deal with. In this case however... not true. Aside from the fact that they are slower than molasses whenever you need anything, whether it be a simple bank deposit or working with a banker... they move in reverse. In addition to their slow service, they are extremely difficult to deal with and not very well trained it seems (considering you get a different answer to the same question depending on who you ask); at least with business accounts. 1st off... it literally takes hours just to set up the accounts... Nothing can be done by phone or online to expedite the time spent in the branch. The reason is clear as to why it takes so long... it's because their systems require significant amounts of redundant data entry on various screens as they take your info... They literally require the account holders to be present in the branch when setting up an account... not even FedEx'ing and having notarized is acceptable... are you kidding? I've closed on houses and submit my taxes with a digital signature and they require you be physically present to open a business account???? Kind of a big deal when your company is spread over a few states. 2nd, they have so many rules in place for business lending and credit lines, it's nearly impossible to do anything with them other than deposit and write checks... WTF? For example, because my business partner is not a FL resident, though they will allow us to have a checking account with them, they won't do any lending or credit lines, what the hell is that all about? I can't speak for personal accounts, but as far as establishing a business relationship with a local bank... keep looking... these guys are impossible to deal with. Had I known this up front, would have never opened an account here. And given the other facts that are simply related to how the CU in general is run, no way would I come back to open a personal account. read more

The only good thing I can say about the Cape Coral branch is their tellers are very friendly. Making a deposit can take up to 15 minutes standing in line; forget the drive-up. I can't tell you how long it takes to have notarial services because we left after waiting an hour. When we left the same 9 people that were ahead of us when we arrived were still waiting. Very poor customer service. Was told yesterday that we could pay our first auto loan on the phone and the $8 fee would be waived. Called today to make the payment and the representative would not waive the fee. Asked to talk to a supervisor. She would not waive the fee also. She wanted to know the time I called. I told her and how long we talked for. She acted like she didn't care. She had me on hold. Think she was making sure I called. We tried transferring the payment to our bank to Suncoast online. They won't accept payment that way. Have never had such poor customer service. If I could rate it a 0 I would. Unfortunately we now have a car loan with them. read more

Where do I start...great hours not like the others who still believe in "bankers hours." The credit union still has the belief that customers come first not profits!! Which means they provide better loans, better terms and often work with small business in a more productive way than any other banks. Heck they gave my young business a small car loan at like 1.7% interest when banks like Chase or Bank of America and Regions said no...oh yeah it was a three year note paid back in 2 years...thanks Suncoast. If u want a bank that cares about you, then u need to look into Suncoast Credit Union. The only negative is they work with so many people and give you so much personal attention that often there is a long line in the waiting area....but what was that old saying about "Good things come to those who wait..." I researched interest rates for refinancing my car loan and Suncoast had great options. WARNING: the "great rates" are completely negligible when compared to the service. I waited at this location for 30 minutes to speak to a banker. Within that time period I was the only customer and there were 4 bankers present. None acknowledged me or even said they would be with me soon. Suncoast you lost a customer because I just left. Stay far away!!! read more

I am so fed up with Wells Fargo illegal and exploiting activities that I am determined to do as m8ch business with credit unions as possible. I opened my account and bought cds at a higher paying interest rate than I could find anywhere else and a savings account too. Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with and I like the modern phone reception technique as well. read more

The worst choice for banking that you can ever make. I divested from BOA becasue they support pipelines and fracking, to come here and have not been able to get my money for two weeks after every pay day because they hold everythjing you deposit. NO tellers, Go into a bank and pick up the phone and that is your teller. Use the atm and get holds put on your money. Set up bill pay and have none of them paid and your service cut off or late fees charged. They have ruined my credit with FPL and others due to late paying when I have plenty of money in the bank, Not sure how they stay open. read more

This review is for the North Fort Myers location. Every single time I come in here for account services, it takes at least an hour just for me to be seen. This is ridiculous. They have 1 maybe 2 personal bankers available to help. They really need to hire more Bankers or open another branch b/c, this lobby is always packed. I've been banking with suncoast now for about 8 years. During that time I've had fraud on my debit card countless times. Suncoast has told me that they'll notify me when fraudulent charges appear on my account. I've never received any kind of phone call from them to notify me. For someone that has been banking with them for such a long time they really don't go out of their way to help their customers. Every time I've had fraud on my card this bank leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Today I just went into the Mathews location and Juan assisted me with my fraudulent charges. While he was helping me he was very rude and once again none of the agents go out of their way to help me. Once I get my money back I'm going to close my account with this bank. If you are looking into banking with this bank I suggest you look elsewhere. The customer service is horrendous, I don't feel a piece of mind banking with them since I'm constantly getting fraud on my account and the people who work there are rude. Please do your research when banking with this bank and don't deal with Juan at the Mathews location in Ft Myers cause he's no help. read more

BE AWARE OF THIS CREDIT UNION, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE HARDSHIPS. I am attentive to the point where I am accurate and precise with my balances. BUT, THIS CREDIT UNION WILL REARRANGE TRANSACTION DATA TO MEET THEIR OWN END!!! Never have I ever been charged with over 2 Nonsuffcient Funds Fees in any given year and yet the posted (official) balance will always be different from the available "what you have now" balance roughly within a 3-4 day period, giving the institution enough time to rearrange all your transactions so that the timing and withdrawal records works against you, thereby dinging you and making available balances astonishingly inaccurate. It's like this credit union wants you apply for a credit card (even if you don't want one) to avoid this whole checking nightmare! But wait, suncoast will cancel your credit card without notice if you are late for payment twice within a 12-month period. And don't get me start with overdraft "privileges"; think about what about what I said about checking times three when overdraft "privileges" are being siphoned from savings and credit card account. I can't forget about the poor customer service this company gets away with. I called members contact twice on one day. The first time I called, I asked a decent representative about a pending transaction that I wanted canceled. She was able to pull up the transaction and accurately inform me the amount $669.49. I decided that I would call back later before canceling anything. But when I did, I was answered by a sloppy operator who stumbled in her words before transferring me to an apathetic representative. This apathetic representative could not pull any transaction I that I inquired about and misinformed me that the transaction that I was inquiring of was not pending. So when I logged on to suntel a few hours later, the transaction I asked from the apathetic representative went through and I was hit another NSF. read more
